In just a few short days, the retro slasher Animal Among Us will be released by Uncork’d Entertainment. It features the surprise return of Nickelodeon’s Larisa Oleynik, though her credits suggest she’s had a healthier work history than I assumed. Both Mad Men and 10 Things I hate About You are on the list (is that the movie, or the short-lived TV series?)
Anyway, she’s back and she’s being chased by a hairy monster….the powers she had in the 90s would have really come in handy here; bet she now regrets swallowing that antidote. Animal Among Us is a basic oldschool slasher with a werewolf-like monster at its center: fifteen years ago two teenage girls were found dead at a campground, and the evidence left behind seemed to suggest an animal attack. The camp was shut down, but whatever went after those girls still lurks today….
