Prepare for something different!
---------
(This is the Sign-up thread only!)
It all started a short while ago when tokusatsu fan and webmaster Keith made an incredible encounter late at night. He stumble, in a deserted back street of his hometown upon an unbelievable battle between an hideous monster and an armored character. From the insults traded between the two Keith could make out that the armored warrior was a sort of space police officer while the monster a criminal!
The hero’s sword clashed with the monster’s claws in a deadly ballet of sparks and metallic clang. Suddenly the monster took the upper hand, slashed the armored warrior’s chest and the space sheriff was sent to the floor. Keith could not stay idly by and let a criminal succeed. Taking his courage, and a discarded 2 by 4, with both hands he attacked the monster from behind. The piece of wood came out worse than the monster from the exchange and the angered creature struck at the brave human. This distraction was enough of an opening to allow the armored man to unleash his finishing move and exterminate the monster.
Feeling responsible for the critical condition Keith was in, the hero teleported him along to his spaceship in orbit, where he instructed the automated systems to take care of the human first. When Keith woke up in the ship infirmary he found the alien warrior dead from his wound. Even more surprising, impressed by the human’s courage and innate sense of Justice the space sheriff had transferred control and ownership of the spaceship to Keith himself!
There was no other living being on the ship, but it was not empty. It was occupied by a full battalion of ‘J-Changers’, small intelligent robotic creature that were the sentient Henshin devices of the late armored hero. The J-Changers told Keith everything. The warrior was known as JustiRanger, and he was part of the Galactic Police Corps. His mission, like many others of his kind have throughout the galaxy, was to protect the ‘primitive’ planet Earth from illegal disturbances by the many advances races around. His mission was to covertly dispatch the many aliens that came to Earth in search of cheap guinea pigs, slaves or even exotic food (human). Knowing full well the Earth was under surveillance the criminal aliens were always acting as stealthily as possible. The J-Changers offered JustiRanger the ability to henshin into a wide variety of forms to fight off those intrusions, now the responsibility of protecting the Earth laid in the hands of Keith, the only human aware of the danger.
It didn’t take long for Keith and the J-Changers to realize humans could only handle one J-Changer and would react adversely to any attempt to henshin using a different one. It also dawned on him that watching over the entire planet was a 24/7 job that would be hardly compatible with his own life. He had no choice but to find a team to bond with all the other J-Changers, and to be ready to respond to a threat at any time. Keith could only think of one place where he could find trust worthy people who shared his sense of Justice, his own website and message board: Henshin Justice Unlimited. This team of new JustiRangers would be known as the Justice Force.
YOU have been approached and recruited to join the Justice Force, and selected by a J-Changer who’s personality is compatible with you. Will you step up to the challenge, become a Henshin Hero and protect your home world from the nefarious influence of evil aliens?
-----------
Each JustiRanger is partnered with a J-Changer. J-Changers exit in a wide variety of form: animals, insects, vehicles, mythological creatures, fishes, plants, anything non-humanoid. They are all smart robots with the ability to talk, fly, teleport to the general vicinity of their human partners when their names are called and they each possess a special attack they can use on their own. The J-Changers are basically a sort of hybrid between a Zecter and a Madan Weapon and are always ready to dispense wisdom and knowledge to their partners.
The Aliens use a well known cloaking technology to get around Earth unnoticed known as Phase Shifting. By ‘phasing out’ change the frequency of their molecular make up and become nearly undetectable to those that are not phased out themselves. A phased out being cannot be seen, heard or smelled, and it’s rare to notice you actually bumped into one. Even with advanced technology it’s impossible to pin point a phased out being (though you can detect its presence). To combat this, and allow to act unnoticed by the general public, the J-Changers also including a phasing out device that let their partner phase out and meat the aliens on equal footing. Phasing out affects the way you interact with non-phased objects. It takes far more energy to break the inertia of an item and move it, conversely even a pane of light glass becomes as hard as a concrete wall to a phased out being thrown against it. The same apply in reverse: if you are hit by a non-phased object while being phased you will be thrown with far more force. Light also shift toward the purple end of the spectrum to those phased out.
Each JustiRanger is equipped with a Comwatch. This Comwatch is not just a communication tool, it is also capable of detecting the presence of a phased being in a radius of 20 meters, and is also part of the Henshin process. By calling out ‘Henshin!’ after summoning out a J-Changer, it will fuse with the Comwatch, turning into a stylish Henshin Brace that remind of the J-Changer’s shape.
After the call of ‘Henshin’ and the fusion the newly formed J-Brace will reply ‘Change! Light Justice!” before transforming its partner into Light Justice Mode. Light Justice Mode is the first mode of a JustiRanger. As the name imply it is a lightly armored mode, resembling a sentai senshi with a ‘spandex’ suit and a helmet with little detail. In fact the helmet has no mouth plate and exposes the lower part of the wearer’s face. The suit is equipped with light armoring like small shoulder pads, knee pads and elbow pads. At the belt is holstered an Enforcer Baton, a standard weapon. This mode has standard finishers where energy can be focused on body parts or the baton itself. This form is used to prepare the body, especially the human body, for the strain of what is to come as a direct jump to it would be too much to handle.
After a certain amount of fighting the J-Brace exclaims ‘Limit Charge!’ to signify that the time has come to take things to the next level. At that point the top of the brace unlocks and with a strong yank it can be removed, revealing a jewel in each half. By placing the top part into a specific device(different for different JustiRanger) that is part of the Light Justice Mode suit and calling ‘Next Henshin!’ you illicit the ‘Change! Great Justice!” response from the twin Henshin device, and off course the change itself. Great Justice Mode is more armored and more personalized. The helmet is completed, and more decorated, and more armor appear, to the level of a New-Gen Rider. At that point each JustiRanger gets a personalized weapon, complete with unique finisher.
Each J-Changer has a unique name that starts with ‘J-‘ and each member of the Justice Force has a unique Hero name that starts with ‘Justi’ and is based on their unique ‘themes’ (inspiration for armor, shape of the J-changer, element, etc). JustiRangers also have a signature presentation for roll calls.
If you want to join here is the character sheet you have to fill, I included my own as an exemple as well as Keith’s, who will be an NPC (he told me he’s no RPGer)

Feathers are also sticking from the side of the heels. The chest is covered by a big silver armor adorned with a large electric-blue crystal orb at the center (think Animarium Armor Battlizer in silver and blue), the surface of which is finely sculpted with lines in a Chinese pattern. The completed helmet is decorated with a silver beak, and triangular structures grow on each side. Finally a piece of fabric, looking like an elongated black bird tail, is attached to the back of the helmet.
