Haruo Nakajima passed away today, August 7th 2017. He was 88 years old. Nakajima was the suit actor who played Godzilla for the first 12 (!) films in the franchise, in addition to playing many of Toho's other classic monsters such as Rodan, Mothra and King Kong, and a number of monsters in the Tsuburaya series Ultra Q, Ultraman and Ultra Seven. He retired from suit acting in 1972 after 24 years, but continued to attend conventions and meet fans into his 80s.
He will be miseed by his many fans.
