Yes she does sound masculine. She looks so fierce.

Sant Angelo Di Roma is one hell of a dog name, although it does sound male, I remember Irvine referring to Angelo as 'her' when Squall took off in space.

Angelo, the Australian Shepherd has been Rinoa's pet and a wonder fighting dog too. She has found the love of pet in her dog and also a protector at the time of fights.

Though it sounds imaginary, but every pets acts like this. They protect us against all the evil and they do not like to see us in hurt.
