The human mind, essentially the operating system for the body, delicate yet resilient in it's all important role of keeping the machines we call bodies running. We understand it so much and at the same time so little. For years people believed that we only used 10% of our mind's potential only to later learn we actually did use it all. We didn't know of the further potential that remained. It was the year 2076 that the key to that potential arrived. A meteor came plummeting down into Las Vegas, Nevada a well liked vacationing spot for many, crashing right smack dab in th middle of a large crowd before suddenly dissolving into a vapor. No one knew just how this effected them, indeed there didn't seem to be any effects at all, not that could be seen. Unknown to the many their genes had been subtly altered, they would be the same but their children on the other hand, they would gain something now human before them ever had, genuine psychic abilities. Most ran away and didnt look back, but there were a few who chose to get a closer look. What they found was a device that had been hidden a the meteor's core, it reached out to their minds, telling them the purpose of the whole thing. It was the last will and testament of a dying race, as well as a warning of what was to come. They called themselves the Illum, they had come under attack from a race calling themselves the Darwai, once a peaceful people their pursuit of turning themselves into perfect beings had led them down a path of violence and aggressive invasions where they would harvest a species for any distinct evolutionary advantages they may have so that they made integrate them into themselves. Seeing themselves a superior to other being with each integration they think nothing of other races and will harvest an entire world's population in order to further their goals. The Illum had fallen to the Darwai, but not before sending out these last pieces of their legacy out, in hopes of warning other worlds and more importantly giving them a way to fight back. Given to them were schematics of planetary defense systems, useful technologies to further aid them and a final explanation of why the next generation would be vital to their world's survival. Taking this message to heart, they resolved to do all they could to be ready for when the day came.

It is now the year 2101, 25 years have passed since then and great progress has been made since then. With the first occurrence of psychic abilities came the founding of two organizations, the Psi Foundation which researches those that developed such abilities and the Psychic Defense Initiative which sought to look into applications for such abilities. What had started as what sounded like mad ramblings became more and more accepted thanks to an attack by a small scouting force, that was barely repelled by conventional weaponry and technology has advanced thanks to the knowledge given to them by the Illum. The greatest of these technologies was the planetary defense force field codenamed Planet Storm, originally designed by the Illum but unable to be completed in time by them. Unknown to the general public there are several weak spots within the shield due to the rather fast pace at which it was built, parts where the shield could easily be broken, or holes small enough for a small force to slip through. The counter this yet another option was developed, one not so dependent of the Illum designs. Taking the message of it falling to the next generation was taken to heart and measures were taken to ensure that that generation would have all the tools they needed. Funded by one of the few who stuck around to hear the message in the meteor , a rather eccentric Japanese billionaire, the Psyconger project was born. Built around the the children of those who were there from the beginning the intent was to create a small independent task force which could easily utilize their powers and arsenal to eliminate any threats that slipped through quickly and efficiently. The core of the project was the "Psychic Jacket", a suit that when worn by one of those with psychic abilities would focus their abilities, making them more effective and easy to use, able to harness the psychic energy they projected and form them into weapons made of solid energy. In addition the suits could be used the channel the powers of the group through a single person, granting that one enough power to deliver a powerful attack. The final feature of the plan was the fact that the suits allowed each member of the team to amplify the powers of the others just by being present, making them all stronger just by fighting alongside each other. Aside from the four suits made for the four they knew they had, other suits were prepare in the event that others with the gift could be found and were willing to join the fight.

Everything was prepared, and not a moment too soon. Seeing the Darwai ships in the sky above earth, looming behind the shield it was clear that the time to defend themselves had come.

Rules:
1. no godmoding our powerplaying (In some cases involving villains it is allowed but still ask before doing so)

2. if you wont be able to post for a while have someone (other than me) cover for you

3. Try to post regularly, but dont double post

4. pay attention to posts

6. Try not to leave people behind and dont rush the plot

7. Relationships are allowed but dont make the whole rp about it. And if you play multiple characters they cannot be in a romantic relationship because that is just plain annoying.

8. If playing as an alien character explain what makes the species different from humans. If they are no different than just use a human.

8. Have fun and dont be afraid to ask me questions about things in the rpg

Psykers: Those who were born with psychic abilities after the Illum meteor modified the genes of their parents. Most possess at least some form of the abilities associated with such powers though in a mild form. The primary abilities tend to include telekinesis and a form of reflexive precognition in fights due to being able to read an opponent mental impulses to some degree, it doesn't work so well on creatures of pure instinct. Mind reading does happen but is quite rare and vague when used.

The Arsenal:

The Psychic Jacket: Aside from acting as a psychic focus, and making each member of the team an amplifier for the others the suit also gives excellent projection that works in conjunction with the wearers abilities, giving them enhanced reflexes and strength.

Psychic Pendant: A pendant worn by each member of the team, it acts as a teleportation beacon of sorts that allows the wearer to summon the suits to them at a moment's notice wherever they may be.

Skyship Stairway to Heaven: A large airship built for the team's use and named for favorite song of PsyconRed's father. It is a mobile base for the team and provides living quarters for it's crew and of course the team. In order to save time the team shares a single barracks like room on the ship, allowing for a good amount of crew and necessary cargo. It can remain airborne for extended periods of time, usually only landing to refuel and resupply when needed.

PsyConstructs: Objects made of solidified psychic energy, they serve as the primary weapons of the team.

List So far:
Red: Psy Fists
Blue: Psy Blade
Green Psy Pistols (Psy Bazooka for her finisher)
Pink: Psy Whip

The Team:

Core Four:
The children of those that stayed behind and heard the Illum's warning. Even before the Psyconger project they all knew one another due to their parents frequent interactions and keeping in contact with one another. When the project was founded they were all trained for their eventual roles as defenders. In the interest of allowing them a life outside of just being Psycongers their identities are kept secret and have code names that they use in the field. The media seems to enjoy the code names as well.

PsyconRed "Starman": Richard Kenway/played by me
PsyconBlue "The Wizard": Leo Quin/Tigerhawk21
PsyconPink "Moonchild": Selene Kaden/MagiPink
PsyconGreen "Killer Queen": Alyson Nash/That one dude that changes his name from time to time

Note: They don't all have to be from different countries but Id like to see some diversity on the team.

Others: Psykers that were either found later or volunteered later.
Will be added as needed, can be most colors other than the ones of the core four. Also the Core Four need to be claimed first.

PsyconYellow "Akira": Levi "Hitchcock" Mustafa/Bigdog

Note:There will be no traditional 6th ranger type with their own weapons and differently designed suit in this. Do not ask or I will find you and hit you with a wrench.

Other note: I designed this team with the ability to start with a few but allow for more easily.

Other other note:Correctly guess what the titles of the core four are a reference to and you will earn cool points with me

The enemies:
SECRET!

My Profile:

Name: Richard Kenway (Richie or Rick to friends, allows only certain people to call him Ricky)

Age: 24

Designation: PsyconRed

Codename: Starman

Psyconstruct: Psy Fists

History: Born to David and Katherine Kenway roughly a year after the meteor fell. Given who his parents were, what they knew and what he would be someday called on to do it is fairly safe to say his life and childhood weren't exactly normal. Indeed despite the best efforts of his family to give him as normal a childhood as possible there were plenty of oddities that made it difficult, especially considering that psykers were a very new thing, and how those abilities could effect someone growing up was a complete unknown. Among other things it made him a rather mischievous child who took quite a bit of joy in using those abilities to mess with teachers, anyone who messed with him and those that he could sense were thinking bad thoughts about him. As fun as it was though it didn't take him long to notice that those abilities were thing that he had but no one outside of the kids of his parents seemed to have. It was dawning on him that he wasn't like the rest of them and he didn't know why. Feeling that it was a bit much to tell him at such a young age his parents insisted that he wait until he was older to hear the reasons for this. Eventually he was pulled out of public schools and was home schooled, his abilities developing quickly and him barely able to control them. The world wasn't ready to leard about psykers yet, and didn't want to risk him accidentally hurting anyone. When the PsyconGer program was introduced and the four begun training traditional education was gradually pushed aside in favor of combat practice and training with his mind. By then he had learned of where his mysterious abilities came from, a realization that was met with mixed feelings. A lot of kids had dreamed of having super powers and growing up to fight evil, but he didn't quite feel that excited about having his life planned ahead without his input. Part of him understood why, but another part of him just wanted to be normal and not have that kind of responsibility in the first place. It wasn't until he saw footage of th Darwai scout force attack, witnessing the damage caused, the lives lost and the people hurt awakened something in him. It was at that point that he decided that if he really had the means to preventing that kind of thing from happening again, that he should. He began to embrace his abilities more as well as get more and more aquainted with the Psyconger equipment. Of all the memories of that time his favorites are those of the times he spent around the Stairway to Heaven during it's construction, being utterly fascinated by the Skyship still quite oblivious to the fact that one day he would be put in charge of it.

There were still difficulties though, even if the thoughts he heard from others were vague he could still make out certain sensations like jealousy or fear coming from those who knew of his psyker nature, sometimes even from his parents. Even with the existence (though not any identities) of psykers being public knowledge now he could tell that not everyone was sure that they were what was needed to protect them, and plenty seemed afraid that they might try to take over. Because of this he does all he can to keep his status as a psyker a secret from those who know, almost ashamed of those abilities, but having come too far down this road to turn back. He began taking advantage of the fact that all of those parts of his life were hidden, creating a public persona of sorts for the purpose of easy relaxation and stress relief. With his parents being high ups in the Psi Foundation they had built quite a fortune over the years he found it pretty easy to cultivate an image of rich idiot with no day job that loved nothing more than traveling, partying and flirting with every attractive woman he came across. It may be a bit chaotic but it helps keep him sane, as well as more grounded in the more normal aspects of humanity. After all he was going to be fighting to protect it, he may as well enjoy it.

In private and on the field though he is quite different though, he is calm, focused and serious, doing the best he can to live up to the place of leadership that he was given on the team and on the skyship. He is also actually quit nervous when it comes to genuine flirtation. He tends to see his life outside the team like a game where he can leave himself behind for a bit and be someone else in order to have a little fun before eventually returning to his normal, more introverted self.

Name: Leo Quin

Age: 24

Designation: PsyconBlue

Codename: The Wizard

Appearance:
CyberRangerReal.jpg

Psyconstruct: Psy Blade

History: Born a year after the meteor crashed down, to parents Gene and Shelley Quin, Leo was destined to fight the Darwai. His childhood was far from normal, with the young boy's growing abilities causing near constant havoc in the house. Telepathy was one thing, but add in telekinesis and it's a whole different game. Pulled from school at a five, due to causing the teachers desk to float because he was mad at a her “mean thought†about him.

Home schooled from that point on, Leo was trained in the art of mediation as well as normal school subjects. “Emotions are Power†was the mantra Leo learned. Uncontrolled emotions would cause destruction, while in-check emotions could strengthen not only himself but those around him. With his emotions under better control, Leo was able to see that he was extremely different from other kids. At seven, Leo was told the truth about what happened and the impending invasion. With the help of the growing Psycon Project, Leo was fitted with special gloves that help to focus his telepathy. They serve as a physical barrier to prevent Leo was reading the mind of every person near him. Leo downplays his telekinetic abilities when around others, be they other psykers or normals.

When the time came to really train in combat, Leo found his skill with the blade but also honed sharp instincts on the battlefield. His mediation training, taking to a much higher level now, allowed Leo to make use of his emotional control. In battle Leo makes great use of his sword skill and calmly 'aids' his fellow Psyconger's with his telekinesis.

Due to his unusual upbringing, Leo is the epitome of the aloof loner. Seemingly annoyed by Richie's brainless playboy persona, Leo is also a bit jealous of his leaders ability to spent time among the normals. Leo spends his free time on the Stairway to Heaven playing cards or chess, or meditating. Leo acknowledges that his strong 'emotion detachment' isn't normal to the regular humans. As the Psykers are both loved and feared, Leo won't risk blowing his teammates 'normal lives' with his presence.

Name: Alyson Nash

Age: 23

Designation: PsyconGreen

Code Name: Killer Queen

Appearance:
zk0jep.png

Psyconstruct: Psy Pistols

History: Much like the other members of the Psyconger project, Alyson's parents, Jethro and Misty Nash, were present the day the meteor crash landed onto Earth. Being one of those who stayed and listened to the message by the Illum, Jethro and Misty took to heart the threat of the Darwai invasion, as they, much like the others present, saw the vivid images of the Darwai, a once peaceful alien race that became more warlike and violent in their pursuit of perfection. She, like the others, would also experience a far-from-normal childhood, though it would seem to start in that way. From her formative years to the day she would attend kindergarten, Alyson would get to experience all the things a normal child would -- from storytimes and playtimes with her parents, to interacting with the other kids in the playground. However, things would change at one point for the young girl. Discovering that she could hear the inner thoughts of some of the kids, as well as some of her teachers, Alyson would start to feel scared. However, she also happened to be exceptionally bright for her age, realizing that blurting out some of the "inner thoughts" she heard would only earn her nothing but trouble, even though she had no clue as to how she was able to hear such inner thoughts. Deciding that it would be best to tell her parents, Alyson would proceed to express this strange phenomenon, as well as her fears about it, to her parents. Upon hearing this, both Jethro and Misty decided that keeping her in the normal school would be detrimental to their daughter's emotional well-being. Instead of home schooling Alyson, however, Jethro called up a drinking buddy of his -- one who happened to work for Psi Foundation. It was then that Jethro's drinking buddy, a man named Ryan Seacrest, began to work with Alyson in a daily private one-on-one tutoring session. Starting with the basics such as Language, science and math, Alyson would go on to some of the more important lessons -- recognition of her innate Psychic abilities, as well as utilizing them for good.

Since that time, Alyson would grow up to become a rather beautiful young woman, and would show great proficiency not just with the use of her psychic powers, but also her lessons in basic subjects taught in regular schools. As she was entered into the Psyconger program at Ryan's recommendation, Alyson would meet, or in a sense be reunited, with the three other children she met from before due to Jethro and Misty being friends with their parents. As she and the others began to train, the basic training for her psychic abilities -- such as telekinesis -- as well as her academics would give way to combat training, which would not only include utilization of her powers for combat, but also physical training, which would include martial arts. She would also work hard at using twin pistols, which she had shown tremendous skill in using. Though she did yearn to be a normal girl, Alyson also understood that she isn't normal at all, and that she bore powers and abilities that many others did not have. Remembering how Ryan told her that her powers demand for her to bear a greater responsibility, Alyson embraced the responsibility, and as such, worked hard at her training in very much the same way she did when she went through the one-on-one tutoring session with her father's drinking buddy. Aware that the psykers aren't really accepted fully, but rather an object of fear and obsession by the general public, Alyson also keeps her identity, as well as abilities, a secret.

When not in combat, Alyson tries to reach out to the other four, especially Richard Kenway. Having listened to his inner thoughts once before (though she opted not to say anything about it, knowing that he probably knew at this point), Alyson felt that Richard hid a sort of loneliness behind the facade of a party animal, and as such, wanted to try and be his friend in his time of need. In combat, Alyson is a fierce and precise fighter, utilizing martial arts with Gun-Fu skills using her Psyconstruct: a pair of pistols known as the Psy Pistols.

nanna-660x330.png

A second generation American of Qatar and Russian origins, his parents went on a honeymoon in Las Vegas when the meteor hit. Born nine years after the meteor strike, he is the youngest of the team. But don't mistake youth or his rich lifestyle for hedonism. Being descended of the Sultan's personal guard and Russian KGB, he is a cold fighter to the bone that places loyalty above all else : the perfect personality for the Psychonger Project. From the age of 7, he was placed into a military mixed martial art dojo, where he nailed down [or abused if you're on his bad side] his mind reading and psychokinetic powers to almost deadly ends. His absolute proclivity towards outward displays of Qi Gong, yogic flying and adapting the Force to his benefits quickly caught the eye of the PDI. From the age of 9 he treated his training at the PDI as a game ,and, as a means to trick and manipulate his "lesser" peers to his bidding. It was from these troublesome developments that some feared that Levi's developing sociopathic and narcissistic tendencies were factors that could put the entire team and the Psychic Defense Initiative under fire. Lest the fact of allegations towards creating child soldiers.

It was not of much coincidence that he and a select group of 14000 children were left under a confidential subproject to take advantage of the adaptability of children to using their psychic abilities. But,despite their worries, the death of Levi's parents by the alien Raid On Dearborn, a city that is now a bustling metropolis of technological and scientific pursuits. This focused Levi's motivations to drop all pretenses and focus strictly on training to further down his grief...and the thirst for vengeance. His guardian and uncle, who works at the Psi Foundation, pooled the cash from a private education to tutors as the child focused strictly on his training. From a child that was once a slacker with wasted talent, Levi Ali pulled ahead of the other applicants and was able to snag the designation of PsyconYellow. The cost was his social life and perhaps a budding interest in film-making, being among his all time favorite filmmakers are Alfred Hitchcock and Gareth Edwards.

Even amongst this sacrifice, "Akira" lives fully to his name as he can "conjure" and manipulate the life energy force within himself as well as unleash it with concentrated results. It is not sure if his psychosis is nonexistent or if Levi is actually high-leveled enough to block and manipulate the thoughts of weaker people. While he opts to fight at longer distances, he is adamant towards taking the fight to the Darwai.

While Levi knows of the others on his team, he looks down at Rick's hedonist attitudes as he views himself as a hardened warrior first and civilian second. While the other team members were once very close to Levi himself, he has pushed them away by his antisocial and reclusive nature off the battlefield. That's if he cared what those "inferiors" think. "They just don't care about their planet."

The only person he truly confides in is his uncle, which he shows his more playful side, once that he hides in fear of weakness against the Darwai.

Strengths: Skilled in a mix of Krav Maga, Qi Gong and Pankration. His use of his powers are horrifically effective and devastatingly precise due to his book smarts and knowledge of the ancient arts.

Weaknesses: Fears social situations, uses confrontative put downs, his arrogance, and aloof snobbiness marks him as a weaker link. In addition, his influence and growing powers make the rest of the team afraid and wary of his presence, both on and off. Inner issues with the loss of his parents alongside his sadism make his push towards vengeance truly terrifying to behold.

Interesting a face I havent seen in this neck of the woulds here. As for cast choices they are added as needed, with me making new suits when needed, if that concept works here plan to include it in future projects as well. The core four are essentially the minimum needed to start.

Anyways gimme a little time to decide which applicant will get blue. Even with backups present I like to take a bit to weigh the options and figure out which would b better in which role. Also considering Levi's age and the time of the meteor crash (25 years before the main story) he would have been born 9 years after the crash rather than just five.

Also you forgot to list his Psyconstruct Weapon and an appearance whether picture or description would be handy.

I'll likely rewrite my Blue as Yellow in the case of being being rejected, which is fine for me anyways. Also got a pic for his appearance up as well.

I decided to have Levi be yellow as I feel it fits. As he is outside of the core four he will join a little bit after the introductory stuff. I figured an angry teen joining a team comprised of adults who by this point have all developed coping mechanisms for the less pleasant aspects of their lives might be interesting. Especially since he might expect a group of hardened warriors and instead get a group that is a bit more down to earth and closer to normal folks.

Will work on making the PsyconYellow suit later

How much Rangers would there be?

As stated multiple times as many as I get applications for.
