Power Rangers Megaforce was a great nod back to the first Power Rangers episode. But the acting felt a bit off, like when they morph and speak, it doesn't feel like they mean it like the first set of Power Rangers. I wish their voices were fiercer and in a warrior like spirit. A war cry if you will. But overall, it seems like it was casted fine. The story was a good build up. I was hoping it would be a bit more loyal to Tensou Sentai Goseiger. I like the fact they are combining all the three separate bosses of Goseiger into one bigger team. I wished they have another Alpha robot.

Here's my take:
Gosei is part of an inter-dimensional organization, called Angelus, that safe guards all living beings across the universe because it's what's just and right, kinda like Star Fleet. Zordon was part of this organization. After this organization was disconnected from the Earth realm, they transported five young members of the Angelus committee to live on Earth and blend into the society.

In order to protect Earth from such knowledge because Earth is still primitive when compared to Angelus, these five young member's memories were wiped and replaced as if they were civilians. The five rangers lived their life on Earth as civilians originally intended to visit, understand and learn Earthlings' behaviour.

Since Earth was able to produce Power Rangers after Zordon's absence, these five young members were not needed. However, after the arrival of the Warstars, flying under the flag of Zangyack, Power Rangers were needed again.

Coincidentally, Angelus was able to access the Earth realm just in time, however, their dimensional displacer was damaged. They were unable to send reinforcements or any other aid to Earth. The power grid of Angelus was still in repair and can only give power to five rangers. The Mega Force zords were fortunately sent to Earth before the dimensional displacer was damaged. Also, previous Zords of the Power Rangers were also provided by Angelus, but were not activated until needed.

Since these Warstars are the greatest new threat to the Earth, Zordon's friend and replacement, Gosei has activated his Earth post. He summons the sleeper agents to the command center to regain their memories. However, during the "awakening" of all the rangers, Troy, the red ranger's memories were missing after his encounter with a Warstar. He was the one who still has memories as an Earthling and requires the other rangers to aid him. Troy has the intuition and intellect as a Ranger but could not remember anything of Angelus.

After the five were granted their morphers, they battle the Warstars. In each episode, each apparent defeat was actually the Warstar's scheme to divert the Ranger's attention from their true intentions. They were building something big and more powerful. Something that will prepare them for the Legendary War.

The rangers continued to live their lives as teenagers but their memories are still required in them to fight the Warstars. Originally, the teenagers don't get together along with each other based on each other's heritage. Troy and Emma are from the Skyick tribe. Jake and Gia are from the Landick tribe. Noah is from the Seaick tribe.

Robo Knight's backstory:
Robo Knight was originally a sophisticated prototype Power Rangers morpher that was sent to Earth like one of the first Zords in Season 1. This morpher was so advanced it could actually regenerate, evolve, grow and think. However, it was Angelus's first time in contacting and transporting things to Earth, which was 10 000 BC.
Later, the morpher evolved into the powerful Robo Knight which produces its own power source, equivalent of the morphin grid. It finally woke up after an encounter between the Power Rangers and the Warstars.

Power Rangers Prologue:
Zordon was sent to Earth to capture Rita and other ancient villains. But it takes too much energy to retrieve Zordon and this advanced morpher than transporting them. Thus, the morpher was placed on Earth in sleeping mode until it's needed again. Since dimensional displacing technology is expensive, they recruited "A TEAM OF TEENAGERS WITH ATTITUDE!" for the previous Power Rangers seasons.

Now, the displacing technology is a lot more advanced, but is damaged and retrieving through this machine is still risky. A legendary ranger of Angelus who fought side by side with Zordon was sent to Earth to fight ancient villains. They tried to transport Zordon and his morpher back but was never returned. Zordon was then trapped between the dimensions in a time warp. He was able to use his psionic abilities to contact Alpha-5. Alpha built the command center. The time warp displaced the morpher somewhere deep under the sea. In the future, a lot of Zordon's volunteers were transported to aid Earth that were not Angelus origin, but from other planets and dimensions, such as the Alien Rangers.

*SPOILER ALERT*
That legendary ranger turned out to be Vrak, who double crossed his team and stole their powers to be more powerful than ever. He was so powerful, he knocked out Zordon's memory before Zordon was transported back and had no idea what happened to his teammates. Vrak then infiltrated the Zangyack Empire and gained nobility. Now, he's on his quest to conquer Earth as the adopted son of the Emperor.

Legendary War and Aftermath:
The Power Rangers fought against the incoming Zangyack, where the Warstars were only just on a scout mission and in preparation to invade the Earth. The Power Rangers combined and used their power together. Their powers combined from the morphin grid and blasted at the entire Zangyack fleet. The Zangyacks were ultimately defeated but it was just the first invasion.

The Rangers also lost their powers and ability to morph. The power that was used to destroy the Zangyacks then turned into Ranger keys. It wasn't only the morphin grid power that crushed the Empire, but it was fragments of the ranger's souls as well. Without these soul fragments, the Rangers were unable to morph.

Knowing the Zangyack will return, Gosei finally sent himself to Earth as Akared. However, the dimensional dispenser was destroyed right after he went through it. He lost all contact with Angelus. Thus, he went across the galaxy alone collecting these keys and return them to the rangers with just an aid of a robot parrot and a space ship, until he stumbled upon a pirate whom was rebelling against the Zangyack empire.
