I've had it with sprites anyways. We're in 2013 and by now, Final Fantasy is like on the PS3 and 360, with it going to 3D by 7. And even then, the earlier games have a 3D component in their updates.

And Pokemon? It's been in the same rut since the third generation not only graphically, but playability wise. Why play a game that has a ostensibly predictable path of RPG that does not throw in other curve balls?

I want to be able to go off the beaten path, have the choice to become evil or be an anti hero , rather than be a hero in every single game. They just change the Pokemon and the aesthetics for much of it until the fifth , where actual effort was put into the games.

Maybe with this , they will have something cooler in store.

Love how X's legendary looks like the Pokemon Jade box cover and Mononoke spirit of the forest.

Wow, I was totally blown away. The graphics look AMAZING.
In the previous thread I said I wouldn't have liked Gen III remakes, but if it was like this, I'd be okay with it.

Also love that they're trying to do a simultaneous release now, thank you Nintendo~

Luckily I actually already have a 3DS, but I still wanna get the 3dsXL (hoping they bring over the pickachu edition one day).

I swear, if they bring over the Pikachu one, I'm selling my 3DS that I got last month.

Definitely like the Japanese logo over the English ones. They were too lazy with the English logo.

I'm leaning towards the fire fox for my starter as of right now. But it might change later. Now I need to complete my BW2 dex before October! Only about 100 more pokemon for a live dex!

I'm absolutely excited for these new games. I think they're taking the next step after Black and White gave us these immersive almost 2.5D environments. Now they've taken the next step and made not only the environments 3D, but the characters as well. It's going to be so cool playing a main Pokemon title that isn't sprite based. I think Pokemon Black and White, for all of its supposed "new beginning" qualities is a perfect swan song to the old era of Pokemon. I've heard some rumors that the version specific differences are going to be greater than ever with these games and I hope those are true. How cool would it be to get games with different regions?

And, what's everyone think of the new Pokemon so far? I'm leaning towards Froakie as my starter, though Chespin is pretty cool too. I'm not very fond of the legendaries though, they do look pretty bland. If pressed, I would probably pick up Pokemon Y / the one with the bird.
