WASHINGTON (AFP) – A growing, more affluent population competing for ever scarcer resources could make for an "unrecognizable" world by 2050, researchers warned at a major US science conference Sunday.

Don't mean to sound like a prick, but 2050? Really? We still need to over-live till 2012, the 23rd of December, then we'll talk 2050. But really I'm sure there will come another war that'll cleanout the human gene-pool nicely and give lots of lots of phosphorus to the earth.
