Awhile back, Sega announced they were working on the next entry in the Phantasy Star Online 2 series, New Genesis. Since then players have been wondering when they might get the chance to test it out. How about this month? A global closed beta test for the PC version of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will be held from May 14 through May 16, Sega revealed today.
The new world is set a thousand years before the events of regular PS02 and will introduce two new quests within the beta: Final Battle: Space-time Interstice (a new Ultimate Quest where you must challenge the Primordial Darkness, and do it alone — level 90 or above) and an unnamed quest for levels 85 and up. This second quest involves rescuing the citizens of the ARKS Ship from a devastating fire, and must be completed within an hour.
Fire has broken out in the City Area of the ARKS Ship, and all available operatives must respond, as some citizens remain unaccounted for in the tumult. A rescue effort is being mounted...
