Of Pull Tabs and Button Cell Batteries

I have a question regarding LR44 Button Cell batteries and pull tabs, like the ones that come in the Gaia Memories and Lock Seeds.

Essentially, are the pull tabs a good guarantee against the batteries leaking? Should I open some of the MISB toys that I have and remove the batteries for long-term storage?

Pull tabs don't prevent battery leakage at all. All they do is prevent the battery touching the metal contacts that would activate whatever electronic feature the toy has.

Yes you are right. Pull tabs are not good to prevent battery leakage.
