Indie game developer Long Jaunt has just revealed the first trailer and screenshots for Norland, their story-generating city building sim game. Created in the spirit of similar titles like Crusader Kings, they say it’s meant to give off a Game of Thrones vibe.
Norland overlooks a large medieval kingdom. You’re in charge of everything, and have to spend your time putting out fires (both metaphorical and literal) while playing politics and the game of power to keep your butt on the throne. The game sounds pretty complex, with hundreds — maybe thousands — of individual AIs running around, interacting and causing trouble you have to clean up. Everyone has their own life, backstory and motives, from the stuffiest prince to the lowliest stable poop sweeper.
