no suit fights in sentai/PR, yay or nay?

I'm not very fond of the way out of suit fighting is often used. I don't like the idea of the untransformed characters being able to easily beat grunts and even put up fights against the main monsters. Unless there's some kind of explanation for it, like special abilities even out of suit, it just makes the whole thing look like a farce. Even if grunts are weak, they shouldn't be weaker than normal humans.

However, out of suit fighting in desperate moments, due to reasons that make sense in the story, and with the battle actually showing how dangerous the situation is, rather than just showing off the actors, can work really well.

But then, you have to remember that in many cases, especially with tech and military-themed Sentai, the suits only provide the extra protection. Many of the Rangers can and HAVE used their weapons out-of-suit and did just fine.
In many cases, such as Sun Vulcan, Changeman, Ohranger and others, the suits are nothing more than uniforms for dangerous missions.
So I don't find it strange if they beat grunts without the suits on.
