Roughly three months to go until Kingdom Hearts 3. You might think there isn't much left for the trailers to reveal -- and there apparently isn't, so what we have here is an extended look at a world we already know about, Kingdom of Corona.....aka the Tangled area.
This is called the "LUCCA 2018 trailer" because it premiered at LUCCA Comics & games in Italy this weekend. Lucca from Chrono Trigger is conspicuously absent. That would be a sight to see, and it's fully doable given that she's 100% owned by Square, but this series is unfortunately for Final Fantasy crossovers only.
Some of the scenes shown here you'll recognize as being pulled directly from the Tangled movie itself. It's a testament to how far video game graphics have come that we're able to get this close to the actual 2010 film with real-time rendering chips. Kingdom Hearts 3 makes its long-awaited debut January 29, 2018 on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
LOS ANGELES (Nov. 5, 2018) – First shown at Lucca Comics & Games this past weekend in Italy, SQUARE ENIX® and Disney have unveiled a brand-new KINGDOM HEARTS III trailer welcoming viewers to Rapunzel’s magical kingdom of Corona, based on Walt Disney Animation Studio’s Tangled.
As Rapunzel leaves her mysterious tower for the first time with the help of charming bandit Flynn Rider - Sora, Donald and Goofy join the pair on their adventure to the kingdom, taking on the Heartless along the way. The new trailer also showcases some of the unique combat players can enjoy in the Tangled-inspired world as the team defeats the Heartless with the help of Rapunzel’s magical golden hair.
