Well I'm not surprised that they said that, since I think it's just a marketing tactic to see if there will be any demand if they make it scarce. They are obviously just testing the waters.

It's a little disappointing to here but I suppose it if for the better. At least this way, players will be able to still hold onto their cash for a little longer and won't have to quickly spend it on a new product.

I am not surprised that they would do this considering since Nintendo 3DS has been out for a long time and as well as the new release of the Nintendo switch. If you put those two facts into consideration then it wouldn't be surprising that this happened. It will probably be good for Nintendo as they will more than likely increase sales on the Nintendo 3DS XL. I used to like the original Nintendo 3DS a lot. Although it would be interesting too see what the 3DS XL will be like.
