For some reason this series looks more truthfull to the manga.

But sure you are right, for some reason this series makes the actress a bit chubby. Maki Horikita wasn't much in the serie's but after that she became a bit chubby until now. Now she is normal looking.

Kinda ironic though consider they played a athletic character.

I blame the uber-short haircut she has to have in order to play the role.

Yea that's it. Right after I saw that trailer, just an hour ago I saw she belonged in that AKB48 group and she does in fact look really cute, but because her hair is longer.

So I take that back. Off set, she's cute. On set..forget it. lol

Hmmm....I'm with Kran, this could be closer to the manga this time around.

Sato Yuki (Kagami) is who? I don't remember a similar role in the 1st one.

This new version is full of fail, at least in my opinion.

Did I see that, the way she gets injured in the 1st episode:
Track (Old) -> Baseball (New)

At least there is some originality.

Based on his hair style, and different uniform, I think it's safe to say he will be Kagurazaka Makoto. Sano's Rival. Basically what Shirota Yu's role was.

This new version is full of fail, at least in my opinion.

Both were wrong either way. In the manga, Mizuki gets injured when she has a 1-on-1 soccer match with Nakatsu and he accidently elbows her. That's when Sano carries her.
I'd say both were "fail" =P

I thought I was the only one. I don't want to say "FAIL" exactly, because I think of the cast and crew behind it, knowing they're working hard to entertain us, and it's not their fault they aren't the '07 class.

But more underwhelming/unappealing. I'm feel as if I'm the only one cringing at this.

^refer to my post above yours.

Anyways, I'm re-reading the manga to refresh my memory. Honestly so far based off that trailer it could be a more faithfull adaption but still keep the spirit of the '07. I'm hoping for the more faithfull one.
Cause it looks like Sekime and Noe have bigger roles this time around. Or at least they're more active than the '07 one perhaps.

Hmm? More faithful is great, very. But will it be just as enjoyable/lovable? Maybe not. Simply because these actors aren't our classic team, which I'll say again isn't this year's class' fault.

I hope my local Public Library has it (which I'm going to doubt). I want to check it out (since it's licensed in the US).
