There's plenty of directors capable of pulling of a comedy like Haruhi, with relative ease since Haruhi has next to zero substance.

You keep on using this word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Maybe I'm judging Haruhi's "substance" on the wrong standards. After all I never really could get into Haruhi and series like it.
