The Mortal Kombat Franchise is coming back to New-gen consoles, going back to the classic 2-D style of fighting....and Ed Boon has also returned for the project followed by his new team, NetherRealm Studios. Right now it is set to be released sometime in 2011.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am seriously pumped for this!

All we need is Street Fighter Vs Mortal Kombat now. cmooon Capcom and netherrealms!

Anywho, I cant wait for the game. I just really hope they can toss in as many characters as possible and keep the "Kreate a Character" mode.

They actually returned the 2D gameplay!
They did it!

I love this, words can't describe how excited I am for this.
And Johnny Cage is there! The way he should have appeared in Armageddon!

*Insert Shao Kahn's voice here*

It's a good day to be a Mortal Kombat fanboy.

Jesus, it's like within the last two days, "Mortal Kombat" has peaked on the internet. It's making a comeback... THANK GOD!

Though, I'd like to see how Ed Boon explains the story in this one.

And those fatalities were lovely. Kung Lao is using one of his Shaolin Monks finishers there.
But what I loved was the special cinematic effect The Pit fatality had.

Heh, the Acid Pool is gonna be fun.
