I hope you do know that choosing the gift option is even worse than selling with goods.

With the gift option the buyer can just do a merchant charge back. Whether or not you sent the item, paypal will not side with you since the payment was sent as "gift". Using the goods option means you're protected by paypal.

If you're wary of using the goods option, offer your buyers all shipping options. Provide delivery confirmation. As long as you can prove you shipped the item [take plenty of pictures] you won't get scammed. It is not the seller's fault if the buyer did not choose to pay for insurance.
