Ultraman Tiga was such a huge success that Tsuburaya immediately decided to follow it up with another year long series that would eventually become known as Ultraman Dyna. In fact, Ultraman Dyna would be a direct sequel to Tiga, set seven years later in the year 2017 where GUTS has now been upgraded to SUPER GUTS.
