After the wreck that was Ohranger, Toei hired comedy writer Yoshio Urasawa to take the driver's seat of their next Sentai series. Thus, Gekisou Sentai Carranger (Power Rangers Turbo in the US) was born. This series received great wreck-ignition for being a parody of Super Sentai as it brought new life into a tire-d franchise by constantly making fun of the various tropes the series had endured in its 20 year lifespan.
