Jackie Chan Returns In Vanguard, Coming This January

If you were alive in the 90s then you remember Jackie Chan. As one of the few Chinese action stars to break out in the West, he starred in several hit movies like Rush Hour where he combined his signature blend of karate-kicking action with a wild sense of humor. He even got his own children’s TV series that went on for multiple seasons (and this was on broadcast, at a time when only anime was going on for that long).
Once the 2000s settled in, though, we started seeing less of Jackie. We’re not sure what the reason for that was…the studios moving away from traditional action movies, or Chan himself taking less offers…but we’re pleased to report he’s back again in something. It’s Vanguard, a new action flick in the vein of Jackie’s signature work from Hong Kong director Stanley Tong (The Myth, Rumble in the Bronx, Supercop).
