S/mileage change their group name to 'ANGERME'

S/mileage has changed their group name to "ANGERME."

This announcement was made during the final day of the group's tour "S/mileage Live Tour 2014 Aki ~FULL CHARGE~" held at TSUTAYA O-EAST on December 17.

"ANGERME" was named by member Nakanishi Kana, based off of over 10,000 submissions made by the public.

Nakanishi explained, "I made up the word by combining 'ange', meaning angel in French, and 'larme' meaning tear. I have a tender image for angel, and I named it wishing to spend days having a tender heart like an angel. Also, you shed tears when your feelings are at their height, like when you are too happy or too sad, so I wanted to shed that kind of tears with you guys."

Listening to her, the audience celebrated the new start of the group with a big applause.

ANGERME will be releasing their first single under the new group name, entitled "Taiki Bansei / Otome no Gyakushu" on February 4.

One of the title tracks "Taiki Bansei" was written/composed by Nakajima Takui, and arranged by Suzuki Shunsuke, while "Otome no Gyakushu" was composed by Kawabe Hiroshi and Ueda Tadashi, and arranged by CMJK.

Ayaka & Mizushima Hiro Expecting their First Child

On the 26th, it was reported that Mizushima Hiro (30) and wife, singer Ayaka (27) are epecting their first child.

Through a joint statement via their agency, they announced “We have been blessed with a new lifeâ€. Ayaka is currently 4 months pregnant. She will continue her work activities, including participating in NHK “Kohaku Uta Gassenâ€, until around spring of next year.

During their marriage press conference, it was announced that Ayaka is suffering from Graves’ disease. “Even after returning, I have always placed my health ahead of everything. After my doctor check up at the end of last year, my results show I am in a stable condition†she stated “It was a big opportunity to discuss having a child, which led to this momentâ€.

“We can only pray that this small life will grow healthily, Please watch over us warmly.â€

The two scretly married in 2009 and announced the marriage in April of the same year.

I love both Ayaka and Hiro Mizushima. Hearing Ayaka back singing was great. This is even better news.

Ayaka has such a great powerful voice unlike the screechiness of most popular Japanese artists.
