Ever since Warner Bros. announced a simultaneous home release (via HBO Max) for Wonder Woman 1984, we’ve been wondering what their next move is. Early whispers suggested a hybrid strategy where WB would use a similar strategy for some movies and keep others theatrical, but….they’re going all in on this.
WB dropped a bomb on the movie industry this morning when they revealed ALL their upcoming films for 2021 will follow WW84’s example. On the day each of their movies open in theaters, they will also be available to stream through HBO Max for approximately one month. That includes The Little Things, Judas and the Black Messiah, Tom & Jerry, Godzilla vs. Kong, Mortal Kombat, Those Who Wish Me Dead, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, In The Heights, Space Jam: A New Legacy, The Suicide Squad, Reminiscence, Malignant, Dune, The Many Saints of Newark, King Richard, Cry Macho and Matrix 4.
