Today WarnerMedia revealed just about everything we’d been wanting to know about HBO Max; so much that it can’t be contained in one article. We’ll be posting multiple news stories in succession, starting with this one.
The first news is the news that’s been most crucial: the price of this thing. Rumors had it at $17.99 a month, which sounded pretty ridiculous even with all the crazy new shows and exclusives they’ve been shoring up. Fortunately, that is not the case: the price is actually $14.99, which still puts it at the more expensive side (especially when compared to Disney+) but somewhat more manageable. In fact, it’s the price HBO currently costs to stream by itself, and all of HBO’s content is included here, so either a reduction in cost is coming for THAT app, or it’s being retired. We’ll see.
The next big piece of news is our first headline: “Greg Berlanti,” which we’re now convinced is not a person but the name of an AI program designed to produce TV superhero content...
