Well, I am a khajiit, currently at level 14, and I am focusing on a sort of stealth warrior character. If I can't sneak and do it, I don't have a problem wading into the mix, shield and sword in hand. So far I've got solid skills and perks mostly in one-handed, archery, and sneak. Originally I was going to do the Thieve's Guild but I didn't like the first few quests. On Oblivion the Thieve's Guild was more like "rob the rich and give to the poor" but these guys on Skyrim are just thugs. I ended up transitioning over to the Companions and it is good stuff (with some very unexpected twists!).

I have a freaking HUGE list of misc. objectives. The sheer amount of things to do in this game is mind boggling. I have made no progress whatsoever on the main quest and I have already played for a little more than twelve hours. My Skyrim life > my real life.

I've decided to postpone buying this game at least until Xmas, but I talked to friend who bought it and he told me that he's over 20 hours in and has only done the first obligatory story missions, the rest has been side stuff :castlerock:

I'm hoping to be able to play it by Christmas... which is when I'll have a computer able to run it decently. :O

I feel for you guys having to wait. I never thought I'd make it to Nov. 11 for the game to come out so I can't imagine having to wait even longer.

The following comment was left over at IGN on their Skyrim review. I thought I'd share:
Tomorrow I will pick up my copy, couldn’t risk it being posted due to the retarded postal service. I am well prepared too, here’s my check list:

1) Skyrim game
2) Comfortable cotton pants (3 sizes too big for extra ball space)
3) Comfortable polyester t-shirt (for sweat management)
4) Memory foam slippers (poor circulation from long periods of sitting can lead to cold feet)
5) Hooded bathrobe, extra thick (additional warmth for lower and upper body, hood stops heat from leaving body)
6) Large bag of organic cashew nuts (protein and essential omega oils)
7) Wet wipes (for cleaning balls after long periods of play time)
8) Call all clients and cancel work until 2012 (at the least)
9) Turn off phone and all clocks
10) Beard (?)
11) Painkillers
12) Red Bull
13) X12 - 5 litre bottles of water
14) Urinary catheter (may need to hire nurse)
15) Kidney dialysis machine (in the event of renal failure)

I was thinking of declaring myself dead so I don’t get disturbed but it’s too much trouble. I’m lucky I have no girlfriend at the minute so that’s a big weight off my mind. I really feel for you guys with bitches. Good luck people.

Don't forget flying horses!

So now I'm a little more than 30 hours in and the game is amazing as far as content is concerned. It seems that every other person has something that they want you to do. Deliver this, I lost ancestral shield/sword/mace/whatever in [insert random cave name], and on and on. It's a little buggy in places but there's supposed to be a patch on the way to address most of this. So far I've seen people randomly soar through the air, mammoths disappear and then drop from the sky, and all kinds of weird stuff. There have been some more serious issues too such as the game freezing up and frame rate drops. I think all of those are to be expected to some degree in a game as massive as Skyrim though.

Those few negatives really haven't taken away any enjoyment for the game. I'm still loving it.
