As viewers of Disney Channel and Disney XD’s 2017 DuckTales series know, the show has pulled in all sorts of characters from The Disney Afternoon’s first few years of existence, but with Darkwing Duck…it gets complicated.
Darkwing was introduced to this version of Duckburg as a fictitious character with his own popular TV show the nephews happened to be obsessed with. He was played by actor Jim Starling (who in reality was original Darkwing VA Jim Cummings), a man who got a little too obsessed with his role. When he found his job threatened by another actor (this one named Drake Mallard), he became so agitated that he flipped from Darkwing into…Negaduck!
