I sort of wished I did opinions last part! I say that as we begin to race toward the end in part 15!

Episode 43:

Kiros walks around a dark cave with a candle. He notices soil that absorbed blood and has Giza Dogler spew liquid on it. This levitates rocks and Zeba starts feeling weak to the point of having to retreat again. Anagmas remembers when this happened to Lizar Dogler's pyramid. Oyobur notices Zeba's blood before we see Blue being assaulted by red bricks. These form into a pyramid and out from behind it is Kiros. He says the bricks were made from Lizar Dogler's soil blood. He remembers when he interfered several episodes back and is still throwing a fit over it. Giza Dogler uses his staff to send a barrage of bricks on him. This eventually seals him in a pyramid just as the others show up. During this Blue sees a vision of a bunch of white colored cultists burning a portrait of him while chanting to what I assume is Igam Dragon. Kiros fights the Maskmen rather easily and Red calls the Jet Cannon which busts the pyramid by flying over it. Blue says he has become blind and can still hear chanting. Even Kiros wonders what happened to him and uses it as a chance to slay him. Red fends off Kiros while Blue runs off in terror. Kiros uses the Crescent Screw to stun the others while Blue contacts the commander. Blue wonders around and accidentally gets caught in a train track just as a train is coming. He gets his shoe off to escape while his teammates have bricks thrown at him. Blue shows up and uses his right sleeve as a blindfold which always helps you fight while blind, right? This is Kiros we are talking about, so getting is rear handed to him is expected. Soon he uses Pyramid Space with Kiros charging, soon landing a punch that sends him flying.

Giza Dogler sends his bricks on Blue only for him to use his swords to cut them. Giza Dogler crushes a brick which releases green ooze on his foot. On the projection screen in the Underground Castle Oyobur notices it is the same as Zeba's blood. Igam is convinced Zeba is Lizar Dogler, but Anagmas tells them to shut the hell up. Energy beams resembling tornadoes attack from the cieling. Igam notices the same chants Blue was hearing and knows they belong to a knight named Unas. The cultists stop chanting and Blue notices, allowing the Maskmen to transform and strike a pose. Fight ensues with Blue dueling with Giza Dogler and losing badly. The others can barely hold their own against Kiros. Blue tries to time his attacks better, eventually forcing Giza Dogler to hide ina brick pyramid only for he Jet Cannon to blast them both to pieces. Kiros says to remember this and Okelampa shows up, nobody calling him, to make Giza Dogler giant sized so Red can call in Turbo Ranger and have LG become GR. Giza Dogler manages to handle GR until he starts using the Glaaxy Anchor and Galaxy Vulcan before unleashing the Iron Fist to finish the fight. At the docks, Blue can still hear the chanting by the cultists of Unas. Zeba returns soon after. Next episode shows Blue being blind and being possessed by dragon-like armor.

Giza Dogler: Powers include pressurized mouth water and a pyramid staff that grants telekinesis, lightning bolts, and projectile redirecting

Episode 44:

After a recap of last episode, Blue tries blind training and demand nobody hold back and by that I mean launch cannon balls at him. He gets hurt quite badly and hears chanting again as the others try helping him. Cut to the Unas cult where their hoods levitate and form Armor Dogler. Igam shows up noting the cult members are deserters and says Unas only serves the Igam family. Fumin scares the cultists off while Armor Dogler goes above ground, Igam commenting that Unas might really be above ground. Armor Dogler spawns dragon armor on a random jogger, but it just causes him to writhe in pain so he removes it. The same happens to a motorcyclist, a rugby player, and a karate student. The Maskmen find this out at the base and Red asks the commander to look after him. The others spot a bus driver caught in the armor just as it is taken off. Armor Dogler shows up and deflects laser magnum shots. Igam and Fumin appear, the former stating that whoever fits the armor will become the new Unas and will serve his family. Anglers show up to assist the villains and Igam notes Blue is not among them. Instead he is on the street- Didn't the commander agree to look after him? Igam Dragon attacks the Maskmen when the armor suddenly floats off and attaches itself to Blue. It transforms him into the new Unas, Igam notes that he must have been from the Tube Empire. He attacks his teammates with a pair of swords and unphased by words. Eventually he starts spewing mouth lightning, crippling his friends. Pink starts remembering his charming moments and the commander in disbelief her recruited someone that wasn't human.

Igam laughs at the Maskmen being in pain when a random cultist tries to convince him he is a knight of justice. Yellow throws a smoke bomb before he tries to slice her. Red nabs the cultist and run with the others to a wooden shack. The cultist says the Tube Empire was originally peaceful until Zeba took over, forcing the peaceful ones to go further underground. Unas was a knight they looked up to, but is in service to Igam's family. Igam finds them and sicks a squad of anglers on them. They soon transform and tell the cultist to run. The angler put up a pretty decent fight. The commander says they must save Blue and is the one hurting the most. He brings up how he saved them last episode and this time it was their turn. Yellow does her jumping technique and Red brings in the Jet Cannon to ram into Armor Dogler. Red uses his sword and uses an energy slice.... Which blows him up! Igam summons Okelampa for giant revival and Red calls for Turbo Ranger so LG can become GR. Soon into the fight, the Spartan Dash is attempted, but Armor Dogler goes projectile happy. Eventually LG manages to stun him with a flip kick before destroying him using the Iron Fist. That night the Maskmen see Igam laughing at them what with Blue still being on his side. Next episode shows Blue fighting the others and Igam with his helmet off.

Armor Dogler: Powers include possessive armor spawning, deflective armor, shoulder energy bolts, torso beam, and energy net spawning from the torso

Episode 45:

After a recap of last episode, the Maskmen fight their possessed friend commanded by Igam. Red tries talking to him, but it fails. A cultist boy looks at the battle being sad that Unas is not a knight of justice when cultist girl from the last episode, who is revealed to be his big sister tells him that the knight serves the Igam family. The boy heads to a cave and suggests the pray for him. Blue continues his rampage when an earthquake occurs and appears is a giant turtle shell that becomes Games Dogler, like Gamera but more bird-like. Igam explains that Game sDogler protects Unas wherever he goes- Shouldn't that be Armor Dogler- Whatever. Igam sends both of them to fight, making the situation worse. Blue and Games Dogler chase the Maskmen and eventually blast them off a cliff. Yellow comments that the goddess of victory has forsaken them when they hear chanting. Red tells the cultists to quit it since they caused Games Dogler to show up. Blue and Games Dogler teleport in the cave and attack. The Maskmen and cultists retreat to a river where Black scolds them for what they did. Remember that episode where the Maskmen freed the slaves? Apparently that is why they think he is Unas after they give the Maskmen a picture of him. Their beliefs conviced Armor Dogler to do what he did and the cultists are disappointed their hero is just a legend. Blue shows up and the cultists notice Ial's pendant.

Igam has the six tied to crosses preparing for execution. Red remembers when Ial risked her life to warn them before being dragged under. Igam tells them the irony of their situation and the cultist sister tells Red about how Ial would have wanted peace. He tells them they all must pray to save Blue. The commander tells they they should use their aura energy on Blue so they decide to meditate while the cultists chant. This actually affects him to Igam's surprise. Igam tries to rush at them when a huge explosion occurs. Nobody gets hurt, but Igam's helmet flies off. Everyone is surprised Igam is a woman DESPITE HOW HE CLEARLY SOUNDED FEMININE AND IS PLAYED BY AN OBVIOUSLY FEMALE ACTOR AND EVEN WORE LIPSTICK- THIS "TWIST" IS STUPID! Igam teleports away and Blue is back to normal wondering where he is. He then remembers what happened to him and the others rush over saying they're glad to have him back. The Maskmen transform just as the anglers pop in. Once they are disposed of, Games Dogler flies in. Red uses the Jet Cannon to ram into Games Dogler before landing a sword blast followed by an actual blast of the cannon. Fumin summons Okelampa to revive Games Dogler as a giant and Red calls for G5. Shortly into the battle Games Dogler lands some hits only for G5 to use the Great Gun followed by a flying punch before whipping out the Riser to execute the Burst, finishing him off. The cultists walk off and wave to the Maskmen while Red is still in disbelief that Igam is a woman. The episode ends with Igam sadly walking in a cave. Next episode shows Igam as a kid and a floating idol.

Games Dogler: Powers include retracting in the reinforced turtle shell, levitation, hand bombs, teleportation, mouth flames, shell energy bolts, and hand energy blasts

The penultimate part is here! It is too late to turn back as we dive into part 16!

Episode 46:

Igam examines herself in a mirror after the events of last episode and cursing Red. Fumin appears to return her helmet and continue her loyalty. Godai Dogler walks in saying she isn't thinking clearly. Igam goes by him and brings Igam Dragon with her as they fly off in an angramon fighter. She faces Red in the masky fighter. Eventually the angramon fighter is shot down- wow that is a huge boom. Fumin drags Igam out of it and the Maskmen show up with Red saying he won't fight her. Igam tries charging, but Godai Dogler appears and takes her away. We get a flashback that it was Godai Dogler that trained her to be a warior and a man. Igam goes on about how only the strong should survive and that he will beat the Maskmen. Godai Dogler shows him the pond where Lizar Dogler was born saying it has power. Energy rises from it to form spikes that stop Red on his bike. More appear as the Maskmen come together. Igam brings up the rumor of Zeba being Lizar Dogler and Godai Dogler says he is willing to do anything for her, even being punished by the emperor. Speaking of whom, Zeba is aware of their plan and says he'll have something special waiting. Cut to the Maskmen hiding in an abandoned warehouse with spikes coming out of even the walls. The commander says he senses powerful evil. Rising from the pond is a ghost-like idol. The idol goes above ground to fight the Maskmen. Godai Dogler appears and reveals it is the spirit of Lizar Dogler and those spikes were really his bones. Kiros sees this and is in disbelief. This brings up that now nobody knows about Zeba who tells the other villains even his bones are worth being afraid over.

Lizar Dogler and Igam attack the Maskmen although Godai Dogler gets in the way of the latter. The bones enter Godai Dogler's body to revive their owner. Once the skull lands on his head and the ghost emerges, Godai Dogler attacks the Maskmen with ease. Igam starts growing sympathy while Godai Dogler is assisted by anglers. Red and Igam fight with the former telling her she needs to quit for Godai Dogler's sake. Red tells Igam to give up the obsession with restoring the royal family. The Maskmen then transform, Red soon dueling with Godai Dogler and losing. The Laser Arrow manages to stun him long enough for the Jet Cannon to fly in and destroy him. Igam sends in Okelampa to do his shtick and Turbo Ranger is called in by Red so LG can become GR. During the fight GR manages to assault Godai Dogler quite easily before finishing him via the Iron Fist. The episode ends with Igam walking away as the Maskmen watch and Zeba laughing. Next episode shows the villains watching dancers and Yellow jumping around.

Godai Dogler: Powers include a naginata and high jumping
Lizar Dogler: Powers include flying bones capable of possession and mouth fire balls

Episode 47:

At the Underground Castle, Zeba demands a dance ceremony to the god of war. Igam asks if it is for a plan of attack and he confirms this by saying the war god will descend upon the dancing. Baraba wishes to be in charge as he leads anglers into random dancing. Oyobur comments on them being out of sync. Cut to a bunch of dancers in black that are taken by Kiros for the dancing. Baraba doesn't like Kiros interfering before the black claded dancers do their thing. Kiros laughs and a ball of light emits lightning nearby. At a dance room, Yellow trains some little girl to dance who becomes exhausted, all for a junior competition. Eventually the kid, Hitomi, runs away, allowing Oyobur to snatch her. Yellow encounters Baraba who informs her of their plans (why?) and Spin Dogler jumps in before she transforms. The others show up to help while the dancers become exhausted. Baraba and Oyobur bring in Hitomi and the former uses his sword to threaten her unless she dances. At the base Yellow blames herself and the commander wants her to explain. Laser year Yellow encountered her trying to dance ballet outside of a class due to being poor. Yellow took her in to train since she couldn't dance as that interfered with ninja training as a child. Soon they found a junior competition to compete in, but she realizes she was being too hard. The commander notes that you can only achieve something through hard work. Azuma notices a major temperature drop and the commander thinks they will start an all out attack. Hitomi's dancing starts causing lightning to occur on the surface before passing out. Baraba threatens her, forcing her to continue while Oyobur is sent out for more sacrifices. On the surface it starts snowing and Oyobur spots a guy in a top hat dancing.

Top hat guy is thrown onto the dancing stage to tap dance. A nearby torch starts fogging up and forms a face of energy with lightning. Ghosts are summoned and Oyobur confirms it is the god of war. The torch blows up and top hat guy takes his mask off and is revealed to be Yellow. Baraba punches Oyobur and Yellows says he will not win before transforming. The commander has Black send maskie drill to her location, allowing him and the others to help her out. The dancers are lead outside while the Maskmen fight anglers. Once on the surface- why is it daylight out? More fighting and Yellow fights Spin Dogler. Soon the Jet Cannon is brought in to blow up Spin Dogler, but Baraba has Okelampa undo this while standing in a stream.Red is forced to send out Turbo Ranger so LG can become GR. The titans clash in melee before projectiles fly form both and GR ends the fight with the Iron Fist. The episode ends with Hitomi thanking Yellow for her training which helped her survive and wishes to continue her dream so they both do a quick number with an actual Maskman song complete with slow motion and stock footage. Next episode shows Ial's ice coffin being moved and Red fighting Baraba.

Spin Dogler: Powers include high jumping, a right foot spike, hand energy blasts, and eye lasers

Episode 48:

Zeba tells Baraba he deserves the death penalty for constant failures and chains him up. A stylacmite falls on him, stopping at the armor. Zeba says that the next time he fails the rock will pierce his stomach. Kiros talks to Baraba and the two bicker about defeating the Maskmen. Kiros says he knows a surefire way. Cut to the ice tomb where Oyobur tries stopping him from taking the coffin of Ial. He fails and gets frozen from ice falling on him (I am pretty sure that does not work). Baraba contacts the Maskmen saying he has her and they find the situation awful. Insert Red daydreaming here. Baraba demands a duel with Red in his lair, the others try stopping him, but the commander has faith in him. In a cave the two meet up and Baruga Dogler spews mines on Ial's ice coffin. Baraba demands he take off his masky brace (there was Y in it this whole time?). He does so and Baruga Dogler uses finger lasers to blow it up. Red runs outside and the two try fighting him. The others are SOMEHOW watching this at the base and decide to help him. They go to the cave where Kiros waits for them and they transform. Kiros easily slugs them while Baraba is pulverizing Red. The commander notes that Azuma must have loved someone in her life and that love is like aura energy. Red thinks about trying to save Ial and yells at Baraba.

Baraba charges and Red sucker punches him. Kiros jumps in to kill Red and claim Ial for himself. He then goes on about how killing Baraba would knock out two birds with one stone and since he never loved anyone the brute wouldn't understand. During this Oyobur manages to increase his body temperature to free himself and forms into a ball of light to help. Kiros asks how he escapes before running off into the cave. He removes the mines and fires a laser from his sickle hilt which places Ial into the Whirling Hell where he dives in after. The cave is blocked by rocks thanks to the mines. Baraba says he will defeat Red and demands Oyobur help him, but he refuses because he trusted Oyobur. He saved Baraba so he could have a worthy final fight, but now sees him as a coward. Black gives Red a new masky brace just as the others show up and they all transform. Anglers show up from nowhere only to be slain while Red fights Baraba one on one, almost going into Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon territory. Red soon breaks the Imperial Sword and upon a quick omnislash finishes Baraba in a fiery explosion. Oyobur spots Igam in the distance while the Maskmen laser magnum spam Baruga Dogler before using the Jet Cannon on him. Oyobur calls for Okelampa for giant revival and Red has G5 fly in. Baruga Dogler goes melee and mine happy, but G5 soon stops this with the Riser using the Burst to finish the fight. Kiros laughs that he has Ial knowing Zeba will not follow. The episode ends with Red looking into the night sky with the others having concern for him. Next episode shows Red and Kiros fighting and a room of treasure.

Baruga Dogler: Powers include mine spewing and finger lasers and energy bolts

The aura road is at an end! Time for part final!

Episode 49:

After a recap of last episode we see Black trying to calm Red down because he might not escape the Whirling Hell- YOU HAVE A DRILL TANK! After some arguing he agrees to help Red with the commander noting they all would have done the same. Cut to.... Red and Black on the Masky Drill! Red thanks Black before getting off as he runs around a chasm, soon being dragged into the Whirling Hell. Kiros complains about him being there and the two exchange motivation quips before duking it out. The other villains view this on the projection screen while Zeba comments about them both dying. Suddenly a new vortex appears Kiros was not aware of. This is caused by Hell Dogler who is apparently the reason the Whirling Hell exists at all, Both fight him, but flunk badly. They are all sent to the surface and Zeba demands she kill her sister to restore the Igam family. Igam replies that she never thought of her as a sister in a long time. Red tries to reach Ial in her ice coffin, but Igam sends Hell Dogler on him- HE TOOK A DIRECT SURGE OF BOLTS AND NOTHING HAPPENED, FOR FRICK SAKE PEOPLE! Red kicks him and monologues toward Igam while Kiros tries taking Ial with him via chain whirling which turns him into a ball of light. Hell Dogler attacks Red, sending him off a cliff. Oyobur is unable to find him and Kiros ambushes the villain ninja. He ties up Oyobur with his chain and takes him to his cave of gold. Wow that is a lot of treasure. Oyobur tells Kiros how he escaped the ice block since it might free Ial. Oyobur refuses to use his life flames and kicks some gold. After that Oyobur meditates and becomes a fire ball, hurting himself and Kiros. Igam, Fumin, and Hell Dogler show up, all four of them ganging up on Kiros. The blasts make him lose control of a sword which accidentally impales him in the stomach.

Red hears Kiros screaming and Hell Dogler starts digging through the ice coffin. Red gets into the cave and fights him. Igam finds it weird he can withstand those bolts. Igam demands why Red fights for her and Kiros, in his dying words, says he got everything he wanted. Red uses his aura power to blast the ice coffin as he is being assaulted, one icicle stabbing Kiros in the left arm. Ial wakes up and sees Red, they both hug while Kiros says he couldn't get one thing before finally biting the dust. Zeba is amazed Red melted the ice and demands Ial be slain. At a quarry the villains and anglers show up, but the others also appears to save the day. After grunt slaying, Hell Dogler attacks the Maskmen and rechannels their attacks at them. Zeba gives him some of his energy, allowing Hell Dogler to spew flames. Red has the Jet Cannon ram into Hell Dogler before firing it on him, blasting him to pieces. Zeba sends out Okelampa for his shtick and Red summons Turbo Ranger so they can use the LG to become GR. Both titans lands some hits on the other complete with projectile exchanges before GR uses the Iron Fist to terminate Hell Dogler. The Maskmen go to Ial while telling her Igam is a woman- ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME!? Some tears a re shed, but it ends with hugging. Next episode shows fighting with anglers and Anagmas.

Hell Dogler: Powers include mouth suction, mouth electric bolts, energy redirecting mouth, telekinetic explosions, and mouth flames

Episode 50:

Red and Ial see a flower bed by the beach when he gives back her pendant. Ial thanks him with Red replying it helped him out. Zeba says it is time for their final operation. Energy is directed to the Underground Castle called evil particles which will cause it to rise. Basically a repeat of what happened in episodes 2, 3, and 4. Anagmas wonders why everything must be done so fast. Cut to the base where Azuma discovers this on the monitors. The Maskmen notice purple clouds which causes the pendant to glow. Ial says it wants to show them something. Igam shows up and the two siblings have quips before Igam Dragon appears. The Maskmen transform with Black and Blue failing at blasting down Igam Dragon who gives Ial a metallic orb. The purple clouds disappear and Ial refers to how Igam Dragon protects her family, so much so that it activated the pendant flashing. Red wonders if the orb has Zeba's secret. Zeba recognizes the ball and starts transforming. Anagmas finds this hard to believe and Zeba demands he take that ball for his life depends on it. A fissue opens up, causing everyone to go underground. Ial is knocked out and Igam spies on Red giving her water. The betal ball lands in a pond and states it is Lizar Dogler. Ial says the pond is reflective water, a family secret that reveals memories. According to the ball the most powerful and evil empire beast tries becoming king with the Igam family eventually killing Lizar Dogler from arrows and spears. He was sealed in the Underground Pyramid, but escaped from death and gave birth to a child (pretty sure having an egg is not giving birth). Lizar Dogler used his body to feed his child, including all his hatred and passed his anger on for revenge. To avenge his father, this child became Zeba who eventually conquered the once peaceful Tube Empire. Everyone is shocked by this. The ball says they can stop Zeba, mentioning twin sisters of the Igam family. Anagmas shows up and takes the ball. Igam tries to stop him, but Anagmas smashes it an laughs. Ial asks if she would still fight for Zeba with her being unsure. Insert earthquake here.

Evil particles charge up the castle and Zeba starts mutating, eventually showing his true form. Anagmas uses his crystal ball to emit energy balls, but Igam Dragon shows up to form a hole in the ceiling they can use to get out. Blue forms an energy ladder while Red throws rocks at Anagmas. Another tremor occurs, the others wondering if Red is okay. He shows up with Igam who wonders why Red save her with him revealing it is because of her face being like Ial's.... I have nothing. The villains assemble on the surface lead by Anagmas. Once the Maskmen transform they dispose of random grunts. Anagmas uses his bolts and blasts with some illusions to make things complicated, even using pyramids that shoot energy beams. Red faces Anagmas and fires a laser arrow at him before executing a slice attack. Anagmas is then faced with the Jet Cannon which blows him to pieces. Igam has Okelampa revive Anagmas as a giant and Red sends in Turbo Ranger so LG can become GR.Anagmas teleports around and uses his crystal ball as an energy ball before GR throws him. The Galaxy Bazooka stuns Anagmas long enough for GR to end him with the Iron Fist. During this Zeba comments about the Underground Castle being ready to rise while a new earthquake occurs. Next episode shows the Maskmen fighting Zeba and the Underground Castle blowing up.

Anagmas: Powers include a crystal ball that emits energy balls and illusions, hand energy bolts, and teleportation

Episode 51:

Zeba has his minions prepare the Underground Castle for surface conquest. Zeba asks Igam if she cares about reestablishing the royal family which focuses her back on task. Tokyo experiences fissures that cause massive disasters. Cut to the Maskmen using the Masky Drill to arrive near the Underground Castle. Ial says to destroy the pipes. During this Zeba sets a countdown for fifteen minutes. The Maskmen spot these bombs and go to the conclusion that Zeba will blow up the castle to spread the particles across the planet. Within minutes (rather seconds) the Maskmen fight anglers until they reach the throne room. The Maskmen try to snap Igam out of what she is doing. Zeba tells her she was a fool and flies off. Oyobur says they should be happy with their orders. Red tries shooting the capsule Oyobur uses the controls in, but flunks. The Underground Castle launches which causes pillars to collapse all around. Fumin is crushed trying to save Igam and dies saying she was glad to serve her. Red saves Igam while the castle levitates up as Zeba watches from a cliff. For this time the effects are quite nice. Oyobur dies laughing while Azuma runs out of the base's control room with the commander experiencing fright. On the surface people start freezing around the city. Masky Drill shows up with everyone coming out, making Zeba throw a fit while Azuma and the commander are relieved. Zeba teleports himself and the Maskmen to a place of purple fog for their final showdown. They find themselves unable to transform while Ial tries talking to Igam. Igam says it is hard for people to change, especially with her sins, but Ial says she can still repent.

Zeba toys with the Maskmen before they meditate and use their aura power while meditating. Igam sees this power and is convinced of what path to follow. She starts cutting her hair and Ial's pendant glows, both of their energies are given off which forces Zeba to ditch his clothing to reveal his true self. Also the purple clouds are suddenly gone and Zeba throws a fit. The Maskmen transform and are unable to down Zeba who deflects their attacks. The Maskmen meditate to build aura power before using it to surge attack Zeba followed by using the Jet Cannon on him. Instead of killing him he absorbs the energy and grows giant size. Red sends in LG to become GR. Both giants duke it out quite hard with GR using the Galaxy Arrow (a right hand energy blast) followed by the Iron Fist to end Zeba's reign of darkness. BOOM! After that we see Igam as a Buddhist nun with Ial calling out to her. Red tells her not to cry as the people of the Tube Empire wait for her. Red hugs Ial as they both have flashbacks before she gives him her pendant. The commander and the others look on with Ial wanting Red to promise to never look back. He agrees and the two say their goodbyes.... Why was this ending trying to be a downer? The others act joyful to help Red out while the commander thanks the Maskmen.

Zeba: Powers include right hand energy balls, hand vortex beams called the Underground Hurricane, levitation, teleportation, telekinesis, mouth energy balls, energy absorption, and torso energy bolts
=================================================
I am very torn about this series. Before going into positives and negatives I will say that no, there was no character in the RRT like Kiros, no the proto-Chars did not have gender identity or survived at the end, Baraba does not act like other generals from the RRT since he lacks honor, and X1 was likely inspired by an episode of Combattler V where a one-time sixth member joined that was a rival of Hyoma (the Combattler Team leader), given the parallels with Red and X1 this seems likely to be a Combattler V reference. Now for positives and negatives!

Positives: GR is no less good than G5 even though that combo sequence is still the best of any sentai mecha thus far. All of the Maskmen got reasonable balanced screen time minus Red getting too much unneeded focus (although I think Pink could have used one or two episodes for herself). The commander did okay, he was no Dr. Yumeno or Ibuki, but he still did his job well. Azuma was not that useful, but not as useless as Sayuri from Goggle-V. I liked the build up and revelation of Zeba, it was nicely done although it would have been nice if they dropped more clues throughout the episodes. The villain dynamics I dare say are the best after Changeman, they all act very unique from one another quite well. I like the world building with the Tube Empire, every few episodes you do learn more about their history and back story. The anglers are now my favorite sentai foot soldiers/shock troops/grunts/combatman/whatever the term is, although the madaramen will still be second best, they were that amusing. Plus action is always good. Unfortunately, all that will not get this too far....

Negatives: Why did they bother making Igam appear like a man? In the flashbacks she looked like a little girl, her actress did nothing to conceal femininity (or the costume), and she didn't even sound like a man. This twist is easily one of the stupidest and most forced twists I have ever seen! I dare say this twist is even WORSE than the anti-flash phenomenon! Even in Flashman they at least had the excuse of alternated biology, but here? SERIOUSLY? Because of that helmet NOBODY could tell Igam was a woman? I've gone over how over-centric Red is played, I have nothing against the character himself, just the focus. Then there is Kiros which has a similar dilemma. He is a standard anti-villain that uses pride to make himself seem important, but his character is not an issue. The problem is that none of the villains care. "Hmm, this notorious thief is stealing our monsters, getting in the way of our plans, has had no more success than us, is likely trying to resurrect a notorious evil while hurting our emperor, and he wants our most infamous traitor for himself. Yup, lets have him help us!" Am I the only person that sees anything wrong with that? Lets also not forget how they constantly tell the Maskmen not only what their plans are, but even go as far as telling them how to beat their own empire beasts! WHY!? Oh yeah, they also appeared to build up rivalries (Red and Igam, Oyobur and Black, Baraba and Blue, Fumin and Yellow, and Pink was ignored although Anagmas could have been forced a tad), but no, Red had to be the one to defeat them in duels. Then there is the final battle, nothing too special, it was just average for a finale, which is a shame because they could have used both mecha and didn't, even Flashman did that. Plus we have no idea what happened to Okelampa at the end, they kind of forgot about him, sadly. Speaking of the ending, the bitter sweet ending after the final battle was very forced. Just.... Ugh. To top it all off, the music just isn't up to the standards of a Sentai series.

So where do I rank this? There is a lot of good moments in this, some unique ideas, decent balancing with the team, nice depth, and plenty of action. Unfortunately when it does something wrong it shows it on a platter of diamonds. Like WOW, they dropped the ball hard. Without further ado:

Changeman > Denziman > Bioman > Dynaman > Maskman > Goggle-V > Battle Fever J > Flashman > Gorenger > JAKQ > Sun Vulcan

This series SHOULD be a little higher, but those negatives stopped it in its tracks. If they treated Kiros better this would be higher than Dynaman, if the balancing was better this would be higher than Bioman, and if the finale was treated better or the forced twist was gone this would be higher than Denziman. Yup, lot of potential came from this series, and with a few major errors they blew it.

Liveman starts next month, likely next week.

Now is the time to finish the showa era of sentai with its final entry known as Liveman.

large_12.jpg

"We know there are still nicknames and monster of the week analyses, what is new?"

For the first time we are doing the dividing differently! Specifically I am doing this seven episodes in seven parts!

"You do realize you could have done JAKQ in this matter, right?"

Eh, true, but I didn't believe I'd get this far.

"Anything else worth sharing?"

France called this Bioman 3.

"That's it?"

Liveman, Turboranger, Fiveman, and Jetman have this weird relationship where each represents an end of an era in sentai. Specifically end of showa, end of showa in conception, end of showa writers being in control, and end of pre-Power Rangers.... Okay I don't have a fitting suffix, but you get my point. Fiveman I'll get a little more into when we get to it.

"Mention the praise!"

Alright. Apparently this series is treated as the pinnacle of showa sentai, tying with Changeman, and is often considered the best/most well written of all of sentai with other names being Jetman, Dairanger, Timeranger, and Shinkenger, according to all the fan posts I've seen of course. So yeah, this is top 5 or 6 levels of strong in a franchise of three dozen shows. Oh my, I might be making enemies if I end up not liking it.

"Oh yeah, when are opinions?"

After episodes 11, 21, 27, 35, and the end

"More than normal?"

Things happen more often this time!
=================================================
Episode 1:

The music and opening sequence look like they belong in an EPA commercial. On Academia Island the narrator talks about how Professor Hoshi is choosing many new and fresh intelligent minds to help the world. One guy in a computer labe complains about a space center being useless. Dr. Hoshi disagrees because one day it will help mankind and whatnot before him and two other students just walk out. That night we see them walking the halls and some screen that welcomes them to Volt. Cut to a lab where some experiment is going on with reckless students- These are the the Livemen, aren't they? Well the puppy from the opening sequence is in it so maybe. Two of them go into a capsule and as it spins an explosion occurs. It blew a hole in the wall with Mari and Takuji unable to be found- no, wait, there they are and YOU WERE NOT WEARING THOSE SILVER SUITS WHEN YOU WENT IN. The clock nearby goes out of control as a space ship lands and the mischief students board it. One points out a laser pistol and shoots Mari and Takuji to get away. The other three guys notice their friends are likely dead and scream. I like how in some shots there is blood on their chins, but other times not. A thunder storm occurs and Dr. Hoshi notices what is going on. In space the aircraft takes them to a satellite. Cut to two years later where a graduation ceremony seems to take place on which foreign students get to drive his vessels (you can tell they are foreign by random English). Thee three from earlier visit the graves of Takuji and Mari, leaving pictures and flowers saying they will never forget them. Dr. Hoshi also appears to pray for them. They take the pics of their dead friends into a space craft they are about to launch while watching the ship lift off (weird, I know). Suddenly Volt Fighters show up and fire a bunch of energy bolts from their cockpits to down the vessel.

The space ship crashes into the campus and the volt fighters start a rampage across the various buildings while more dive from the atmosphere. The trio get caught near some crossfires before we see the aftermath where everything is rubble and stuff. One fighter lands and walking out are the troublemakers from earlier who are quickly recognized. I will call them Kemp, Mazenda, and Obler because that is who they are. Anyway, when they went to the space center or Brain Base as it is called, the trouble makers were greeted by the leader of Volt named Professor Bias (or just Bias as I will call him). Also the three are doctors for some reason said to clean up trash like the Academia Island students. Mazenda uses a gun from her finger tips and Kemp turns into a cross between Wanda from Flashman and Beast from X-Men to fire some energy balls. The trio they are attacking said they were prepared for them and combine bracelets to become the Livemen. The docs are surprised and Red- No, I'm going with animal names since I've been calling them with colors too many times. Falcon says they are done for and a swarm of jinmen are unleashed on the trio. I like how their heads break apart so easily- oh hey they use iron claws too. Also Lion and Dolphin kind of suck in combat with the former being attacked by a severed arm. Mazenda fires a gun from from her elbow and a cannon from her palm. This teleports everyone to a quarry somehow when a giant mechanical lion appears. Lion is revealed to be the pilot as he distracts the villains and goes into a cave before chasing the volt fighters away. The mechanical lion then runs up a wall and fires both cannons on its back to help Falcon and Dolphin. During this the narrator asks how the villains could exchange their souls to the devil and Obler grows vampire teeth. Wow, this ending theme totally doesn't sound like a knockoff of the oompa loompa song from Willy Wonka. Next episode shows Dr. Hoshi under some rocks and the introduction of Live Robo.

Episode 2:

After a recap of last episode and revealing the mecha lion is named Land Lion, a submarine jumps out of the ocean called Aqua Dolphin followed by a fighter named Jet Falcon- Wait, how did those two get into their vehicles? Last we saw they were running away! Cut to Bias standing around with sinister music before the Liveman look on the rubble of Academia Island being sad- THIS EDITING IS REALLY BAD. They soon pull Dr. Hoshi out of some concrete and he tells the trio they must go to his secret base. Somewhere off shore he built it after that shooting. He wanted to help so he had this base constructed while barely still alive and says they must combine their power. Kemp shows up to say Hoshi's death would please Bias as a robotic guard shows up named Gush. He summons something called a chaos phantom, this spawns a brain and after some energy shows it turns it into a monster named Barabarad Zuno. Also the monsters of this series are called brain beasts, what they hell is a chaos phantom- Wait, Kemp explains that chaos phantoms absorbing chaos phantom energy turns them into brain beasts. I just.... What? Barabarad Zuno attacks followed by jinmen, Falcon covers the others escaping with Dr. Hoshi. He gets beaten up quite badly before we see Lion and Dolphin taking care of him. Falcon drops by all tired and Dr. Hoshi wakes up throwing a fit saying they must go to an island beyond a tower. Suddenly they hear another survivor that happens to be a pregnant woman. Volt fighters show up- LITERALLY HAVING THEIR SHOTS LAND WITHIN CENTIMETERS OF THEIR BODIES AND IT DOES NOTHING WHAT THE HELL. Dr. Hoshi says he'll protect the woman while they head out.

The Livemen try running, but Kemp's torso eye lightning stops them. After that they transform and give intros complete with sparking explosions behind them. Jinmen get slain before Barabarad Zuno gets flying parasite happy. However, the trio uses their live busters followed by the Biomotion Buster. a cannon that forms from nothing and fires an energy ray that blows Barabarad Zuno to pieces. Gush uses an organic cannon called the Giga Phantom to revive him as a giant. Barabarad Zuno is told by Kemp to slay every survivor and even smacks the Livemen as they jump up at him. Lion notices the light tower nearby and somehow manage to get diving equipment and get into the base, Grand Tortoise (no idea why GUIS calls is Tauros, it likes like a tortoise). The trio is met by a gynoid in Chun-Li hair named Colon (insert anal jokes here I don't care). She was made by Dr. Hoshi and the neabry computers reveal their mecha can combine with a gattai system. [TL Note: Gattai = combine/fuse/merge] Meanwhile, Dr. Hoshi tries getting the future mother away from danger while Barabarad Zuno chases them. The Livemen show up with their animal vehicles to fight off the volt fighters, who knew those snake tails would emit electric shocks? Not a bad defense surprisingly. Dr. Hoshi collapses and dies. After Jet Falcon uses some energy beams from his cockpit to fight Barabarad Zuno and the trio use the gattai system. Once they combine Live Robo, or LR as I will call him, fires the Live Robo Beam from the lion mouth on his torso, blowing parts of Barabarad Zuno to pieces before bringing out the Super Beast Sword and a slice attack, once encased in energy, called the Super Live Crash which ends the fight. Bias thinks about how naive the Livemen are upon remotely activating an organ. At Academia Island we see the survivor from earlier carrying her newborn child. I have to say, wow, she must have the highest pain resistance in human history. She reveals that Dr. Hoshi died and realize they should protect the lives of everyone on Earth. Next episode shows Obler attached to wires and becoming a fully fledged vampire knockoff.

Barabarad Zuno: Powers include flying parasites that emit electric shocks and eye lasers

Episode 3:

On the Brain Base Bias tells Obler he has potential in an experiment he is doing and it is "wonderful". Bias tells him to show how weak the Livemen are as he says it will be the last time he sees that face. Cut to Academia Island at night (wow the repairing is fast) where some monster goes into a dorm, scaring a woman inside. The monster is revealed to be Uirusd Zuno who uses a tube from his left arm to insert fluids to her. He does the same to a random man jogging, but the jogger throws a bench at him before collapsing. Obler notices the sudden disfigurment when the Livemen show up. Falcon manages to hit him, splattering green liquid, before he runs off. The next day on Gran Tortoise, Colon fnds out the green fluids is really a virus. Falcon has a flashback when him and Obler were friends, the latter hating the human body so much he says his virus will make humans beautiful. I don't know how to react to this, people. Wow, a supervillain that acts so flat out evil before having the chance to become a supervillain is just mind boggling! Wait! I do have something for this! CRINGE AND LAUGH! Falcon suggests finding him and the trio goes into the woods. They hear something and we see, in a friggin lab (this editing is horrid), that Obler is infecting himself via tubes thanks to Uirusd Zuno. Jimen show up to cover his escape. Lion gets punched down a window and nearly beats up Obler upon stopping when he realizes he is in pain. Falcon and Dolphin find him and Lion says he wants to save Obler. Falcon brings up the murders and some stock footage happens. Lion mentions he wasn't always like this as he once saw a Obler save a puppy drowning when he first came to Academia Island despite being unable to swim. Falcon calls him naive because soul selling and stuff. Uirusd Zuno shows up with grunts, allowing Lion to flee while Falcon and Dolphin fight off the mooks. To his credit they can fight good so I can't call it cowardous.

Lion tries getting some water for Obler who starts mutating via his digits becoming claws and having giant fangs. Obler calls himself foolish for saving that drowning puppy and intends to kill Lion because he saw it before fully transforming. I just....... This is bonkers. The other docs show up and Obler complains about them still having human bodies. Lion is in disbelief and gets smacked for it, officially ending their friendship. After that the Livemen transform and are transported to a quarry to whomp jinmen. Lion is no match for Obler and Uirusd Zuno makes things diccicult. The Biomotion Buster is brought in to bring down Uirusd Zuno until Gus uses the Giga Phantom. Colon has Gran Tortoise rise from the depths an from the back it launches the Machine Buffalo. Wow that carrier is tall. Also, it spews three missiles from each wing and drives like a tank. Jet Falcon, Aqua Dolphin, and Land Lion launch from is and become LR. Uirusd Zuno goes in heavy, but LR punches him and uses an unnamed gun. The fight is over once the Super Beast Sword uses the Super Live Crash to blow Uirusd Zuno to smithereens. After that Lion kicks a can into a lake and says sorry to his friends. Falcon apologizes saying it couldn't be helped because of the idea of saving lives. Doplhin wonders why they changed. Also GUIS forgot to sub the ending narration. Next episode shows smoke in a kitchen and Dolphin dueling with Mazenda before getting captured.

Uirusd Zuno: powers include a virus fluid tube from the left arm, right hand energy blasts, virus vial launching, and eye beams

Episode 4:

At Brain Base Bias comends Obler for the events of last episode while Kemp mentions how the Livemen must be destroyed. Mazenda brings in a jinman that turns into a human called a dummyman. Cut to Mazenda leading the dummyman into a cave where they have a base with jinmen. The dummyman is not used to her perfume and Densod Zuno is used to teleport him. Look guys, a translator note! Cry babies hate those! In case it isn't obvious I'm satirizing TV-Nihon haters and people that take OtaKing's fansub documentary seriously. Dummyman is sent to what I am assuming is an oil refinery where he places a clear bar of.... soap? It gets into the gas lines and spreads poison gas around town. During this the Livemen eat at a restaurant and Dolphin tries eating as much as she can because patrol takes a lot. The guys complain when the chefs laugh like crazy. The Livemen check it out and start laughing. The same thing is show at other places before we see Dolphin dragging them out and pouring water in their faces. She rides off to the gas company and even talks to a security guard who says nothing is wrong. The men show up on foot (don't one of your have a skateboard?) when Dolphin notices Mazenda's perfume on dummyman. Dolphin remembers that perfume from when she and Mazenda were roommates. Dolphin starts following him and he even helps some random woman before forcing her up some outdoor stairs. Dolphin points out his kindness as an act because he didn't carry her bad. She punches him and is revealed to be a jiman- Wait, it was jinmer the whole time? My bad, folks! Mazenda soon shows up to confront Dolphin. Robots can't have human hearts mumbo jumbo (Kikaider anyone? Maskman established they're in the same universe) and the two fight each other. The men show up and Mazenda sends in dummymen only for Dolphin to kick them domino style. Densod Zuno shows up and Mazenda uses her whip on Dolphin, allowing them to be teleported off. Falcon mentions how they should have trusted her.

At the villain cave Mazenda has Dolphin look at a screen with the men biking toward them. Densod Zuno attacks them by teleporting bombs before grabbing Dolphin. Mazenda says he also has electrical powers. Falcon and Lion sneak in disguised as gangsters with mohawks before fighting the jinmers. The trio flees outside before transforming and doing intros. The jinmers get whooped followed by Densod Zuno beating the Livemen up. Some projectile spam ensues before the Biomotion Buster brings him down. Gush is not having any of that and Giga Phantom's him back. Dolphin is knocked into the water and Falcon calls for Machine Buffalo. Colon has everything launch with volt fighters chasing after Aqua Dolphin to rescue its pilot. During this scene we discover what this vehicle's weapon is, dolphin missiles from the top of the hull (wouldn't torpedoes make more sense?). After that the three combine to form LR. Some melee ensues followed by the Live Robo Beam and the Super Beast Sword using the Super Live Flash to end Densod Zuno. The episode ends with Dolphin and Colon cooking beef stew for the men on the Gran Tortoise. Next episode shows some boy and a runaway pickup truck.

Densod Zuno: Powers include teleportation hands, eye electric bolts, and hand electric balls

Episode 5:

At Academia Island Dolphin brings Falcon and Lion some burgers. Some boy asks for Falcon, claiming to be Takuji's little brother Takeshi. Cut to some blueprints for a high tech car Falcon and Takuji were working on, apparently he showed his brother his car before he died. They are really forcing the sad music on this. Dolphin takes Falcon for a second saying that they don't have time to finish this dream car. After that Falcon decides to make it with Takeshi complete with upbeat music and accidental shockings. That night Kemp has Gush give life to an engine in a junkyard- SERIOUSLY!? Engined Zuno is born and runs off. Engined Zuno sees Falcon and Takeshi sleeping in a truck before entering the car engine by shining his eye lights on it (weird, I know). The next day the dream car starts up- wait, it was a pickup truck shape? The car goes nuts with Falcon inside and Engined Zuno saying how foolish he is while maniacally laughing. Falcon is soon thrown out and some bike gangsters come across it. Despite nobody inside they hope in with Engined Zuno taking them around a parking lot to get rid of them. Bias seems to like this as driving around somehow causes a random gas station to explode while the villains note how their one devil-car will cause the transportation society to stop. I actually face palmed at that, folks. Bias seems to like it. Dolphin scolds Falcon while Takeshi says Takuji trusted him. Falcon says it is the soul of youth (what?) and says Lion's eyes are filthy which scares his teammates. Falcon then vows to get the car back.

Falcon on his motomachine spots the remaining bikers in the car screaming. Falcon boards it with only one guy unable to jump off. Falcon uses his live blaster to shoot the engine and Engined Zune pops out. Kemp shows up followed by Dolphin and Lion. The villains teleport off and Engined Zuno possesses a random pickup truck. The Livemen and Colon decide to create a new vehicle to combat this menace, even placing a 14-tube missile launcher on the top. Yes, I paused and counted the tubes. Because I am a nerd and I doubt the sentai wiki will mention this before I eventally edit it somewhere. Kemp jumps on the devil truck and in a cave encounters the Livemen's new vehicle, the Livecougar. Falcon gives a monologue about youth and friendship and chases them out into a quarry. Kemp transforms into his monster form and torso eye bolt spams followed by random jinmers showing up just to get run over. The Cougar Vulcan, aka that 14-tube missile launcher, is used to stop the truck. Kemp runs off and Engined Zuno receives live blaster shots followed by destruction from the Biomotion Buster or BB as I am calling it from now on. Gush shows up to Giga Phantom Engined Zuno who now sounds like an elephant while Falcon summons Machine Buffalo so LR can be used. Also, the animal machines will be called JF, AD, and LL from now on to save on space and time. The Double Cannons, aka laser pistols, are used on Engined Zuno followed by some brief melee. Eventually the Super Beast Sword is brought out and ends the fight with the Super Live Charge. The episode ends with Takeshi admiring the Livecougar before they drive off. Next episode shows a dinosaur walking around and fighting.

Engined Zuno: Powers include engine converting, teleportation, eye lasers, and high jumping

Episode 6:

At Brain Base the docs are experimenting with brains for Bias because world domination. A time chaos capsule is constructed which causes clocks to be loud and makes space-time unstable. This will allow brain beasts to go through time. Gush walks in and forms Timed Zuno from it. Kemp and Mazenda are concerned with Obler's idea of time travel, specifically going back 70 million years to bring dinosaurs back for conquest. Obler uses some machine to set coordinates and Timed Zuno goes back in time to the ancient cretacious. Hey look! Stock footage of Legend of Dinosaurs and Monster Birds is in this! Hilarious considering THIS IS NOT THE JURASSIC. Cut to modern day where the Livemen investigate dinosaurs sightings- YOU REALLY DIDN'T SHOW THIS? And Lion can't differentiate from thousands and millions of years. (remember folks, Academia is for the best and brightest!) Also pointless bickering between the men. Dolphin finds a random footprint by a theropod when a weird roar occurs. A boy is seen being chased by a theropod.... Specifically I don't know because the costume designers mixed a parasaurophalus, a stegosaurus, and what I will assume is an allosaurus (because the cryolophosaurus was not discovered at this point iirc) into a blender. The beast is named Gon and apparently it whips Falcon and Lion, even biting the latter's rear (okay, it is actually trying). At a random house, the boy and Livemen take care of Gon and Lion's rear. According to the grandpa they saw a flash of light and found Gon wounded. The boy says it was still a child and they nursed it back to health. Also paleotologist parents that died because sap. Another flash of light occurs with Timed Zuno accidentally coming across everyone and reveals his plans. Obler shows up with jinmers to confirm things. The boy, Kenichi takes Gon and runs while the Livemen fight off the grunts. Timeslip powers are used to manipulate the trio like crazy. Dolphin uses her arrows to stop the hands on the clock, temporarily stopping him.

Kenichi and Gon wonder how they can get him back to his time. Falcon suggests using Timed Zuno to take him back to the past. It acts touching with sad music and Gon scares the men who bicker. Gon and Kenichi are soon met by Volt forces only for the Livemen to stop them. Colon drives the Livecougar in like a boss and Falcon fires the Cougar Vulcan which fires a net that drags Timed Zuno. Sounds painful. Falcon demands he uses the timeslip which reverses everything up to the beginning of the battle. Gon starts fighting to save Kenichi until Timed Zuno fires an eye beam at the back. Gon is knocked over and the Livemen use their unique weapons on him before resorting to the BB. You really didn't think I'd shorten the weapon name, did you? Gush undoes this followed by Falcon calling for Machine Buffalo- WHY IS COLON AT GRAN TORTOISE? JF, AD, and LL become LR once it lands. Some fighting occurs, mostly melee and in slow motion, until the Super Beast Sword is used to execute the Super Live Crash to destroy Timed Zuno. The Livemen lament about Gon unable to get home and everyone searching for Kenichi unaware Obler and Gush found him and Gon. next episode shows Gon attacking pigs, growing giant, and LR fighting him.

Timed Zuno: Powers include time traveling, eye energy bolts, energy clock bombs from the abdomen, and a staff

Episode 7:

After a recap of last episode Bias said his project went well aside from the dinosaur escaping, Mazenda quips about the dino being a cute pet. Kemp has concerns while Bias allows Obler to enlarge the dinosaur. Cut to a cave where Kenichi and Gon spend the night, the former saying they'll be together forever. That morning birds chirp and Kenichi notices Gon is gone. We see him trying to hunt some pigs and a farmer loses a battle with him. The grandpa and the Livemen show up. Falcon mentions Lion's butt and that is enough for Gon to run toward them. Falcon and Dolphin trip Gon and tie him up. Also apparently he ate six pigs off screen. Dolphin talks about how tragic it is. Kenichi suggests.... KILLING GON? THIS IS THE MOST FORCED OLD YELLAR REHASH EVER! He even grabs a rifle (nobody stops him), but he cannot fire and runs off crying. Suddenly more dinosaur roars are heard in the distance. The Livemen run over and Kenichi thinks it is Gon's mom. Mazenda and Kemp encounter the Livemen and do their attack/morphing before the Livemen transform. As Gon escapes Kemp uses eye blasts and a rainbow that emits lightning. Gon trips on ropes with Kenichi helping him up.

Gon and Kenichi reach a cave where a jinmer is revealed to be the one doing the roar. Obler has Gush fire the Giga Phantom on Gon just as Falcon shows up. The jinmen is blown up, somehow, and Gon grows big and angry (you can tell with his red eyes). Obler is proud of this while a jinmer in a volt fighter uses the roar sounds to lead him into town. Falcon calls the Machine Buffalo so it can land and JF, AD, and LL can terminate volt fighters after Falcon gives a monologue about how they were the roots of all modern creatu- GAH THIS IS DUMB! Colon notes how close Gon is getting to town, soon doing so. Kenichi tries telling Gon to quit it and he responds with throwing a fit and a tree. Once JF takes out the jinmer emitting the roars, Gon is calm again. Obler uses some hypnotic devices to make him angry again, forcing the trio to form LR. Melee ensues and it is clear LR is not using its full power- NOW GON FIRES EYE LASERS? Also, wow those claws must be strong. Obler is spotted and the Live Robo Beam is used so close to him that they SOMEHOW DON'T HURT HIM. The device is busted and Gon shrinks down to normal. Kenichi runs toward him, but Gon won't give up. The dinosaur dies after crying with Falcon commenting that enlargement shortens the life of living creatures. A funeral is held with Kenichi remembering good times with Gon which admittedly is handled well here. Next episode shows the men following Dolphin.

Gon: Powers include sharp claws and eye lasers

Guys, I'm not going to lie, I am giving serious thought on dropping this. This is almost to Kamen Rider Kabuto or Bio Planet WoO levels of bad.

Otaku no Video is getting a blu-ray release! Not the only thing I am complaining about with part 2!

Episode 8:

Dolphin has the guys go through a bush maze because speed training or something. Both complain and she forces them down a slide. The maze race starts and the men take forever complaining about getting lost and hopelessness, our heroes, folks! A minute goes by and explosions occur. Cut to Kemp talking to Gush about how humans are cursed to spread chaos. Gush examines negative emotions on a rooftop and you will notice that chaos phantom magic is being emitted- THIS IS THE SET UP TO ULTRAMAN 80! A brain beast is formed from this- KEMP JUST USED 80's BUCKLE BEAM TO FORM A CHAOS PHANTOM! Ikarid Zuno is formed and Kemp sends him to spread chaos. He starts taking these negative emotions from random people in their house. Bias notes that Ikarid Zuno is absorbing energy to fight the Livemen, making Kemp closer to being a divine genius. After that Dolphin tries finding the men who are hiding from her. Bias sees this on his projection monitor, thinking she is just a regular human, and has Ikarid Zuno absorb her energy even after she transforms. Kemp in the background comments about what was already known. Falcon and Lion show up to help, but it does little. His head horn grows at maximum size, allowing the chaos phantom energy to cause a gigantic explosion to some nearby buildings. Later, Colon gets a message on Gran Tortoise from Kemp about Ikarid Zuno destroying Tokyo. Falcon drives on a motorcycle when Kemp attacks him, using his anger to feed Ikarid Zuno. However, Falcon enrages him with an insult and gets his energy absorbed a bit. At Gran Tortoise the trio concludes that they must not be angry.

Dolphin thinks about being calm and not letting her anger get to her or she will use. Suddenly, a dog attacks a mother and her kid. Dolphin takes the dog and ties its leash to a tree before bandaging the wound. Lion sees some old man being robbed by street thugs and proceeds to intervene after a school boy gets hit. Yeah, they made off with that old man's money, but at least Lion learned about justice and courage! Falcon visits the graves of his two friends. This causes him to have flashbacks of their ambitions before their deaths. After that the Livemen assemble- Wait, Ikarid Zuno had his horn on his head, now it is one on each shoulder? SERIOUSLY? Ikarid Zuno comments about a lack of chaos phantom energy. Kemp gets enraged and sucks on his energy while the Livemen transform and fight grunts. The trio assaults Ikarid Zuno before unleashing the BB on him. Once Gush does giant revival, Falcon sends out Machine Buffalo so LR can be formed from JF, AD, and LL combining. Ikarid Zuno turns into energy to fly like a comet, but the Live Robo Beam stuns him followed by the Super Beast Sword being used to execute the Super Live Crash which ends him- You know what? I am calling it the SB Sword and Crash, respectively, from now on. Bias tells Kemp he has much to learn and the episode ends with the trio trusting each other before Dolphin has them do jump rope five thousand times. Next episode shows the villains crashing a wedding and Falcon fighting Dolphin.

Ikarid Zuno: Powers include negative emotion absorption, horn energy bolts, shoulder energy blasts, and converting into energy

Episode 9:

Tankd Zuno us tested by Mazenda in Brain Base, emitting some fluid. Cut to some wedding where the Livemen participate in. Mazenda uses her perfume and lures the groom away. A cop pulls Mazenda over in her car for speeding. She uses the perfume on him too, sending him into a frenzy. I am pretty sure smells affect hormons THAT fast. Mazenda tells the other villains about her love potion making men her slave on Brain Base and needs a factory to produce three million gallons to sell all over the world. Bias quickly agrees while we see the bride bummed out and Dolphin says he might be having a bad day- Okay, minor tangent, but why do the outdoor scenes look so foggy? The indoor shots are okay, but were they being experimental or something here? Insert flashbacks of the bride and groom being happy before the wedding. Falcon and Lion commenting about how men can change their hearts and Dolphin promptly smacks them. They spot Mazenda in her car and go after her- Well Dolphin and her friend do, the men try running. Mazenda uses her potion at a gas station where they all observe. Her ankelet psychically manipulates gas tubes to feed Tankd Zuno until Falcon and Lion step on a tube. The groom shows up and is told to fight along with some jinmers. The Livemen transform to fight them while the groom uses a sword to counterattack. The bride even tells him to stop, but soon gets strangled until he starts choking.

At the Gran Tortoise Colon concludes his body has various flower elements. Dolphin thinks it might be the smell of roses that caused him to choke as it would neutralize the perfume smell. Meanwhile, Tankd Zuno absorbs a truck of gasoline followed by a full tower. I'm starting to be convinced that all the things I call oil refineries are gas refineries ever sense I started these reviews. The Livemen show up with Mazenda saying she made her nectar and sends jinmers into action. Then men are shot down and sprayed, making them her slaves. I am questioning how they survived gun fire to the chest, but whatever. They are told to attack Dolphin after somehow gaining.... Giant lobster forks with guns in them? Colon is constructing a cure while Tankd Zuno literally flames Dolphin. Colon drives in on the Livecougar and shoots a bazooka with rose particles, sending the men back to normal. Notably the video quality is back to normal. They both proceed to punch Mazenda and bust her perfume bottle before transforming and fighting the rest of the grunts- Wait, they can survive decapitation AND fire electric bolts from their eyes? CONSISTENCY PLEASE! After Tankd Zuno is stunned from Dolphin's arrows the BB makes short work of him until Gush shows up to undo it. Machine Buffalo is summoned by Falcon, it lands, and JF, AD, and LL form into LR. Tankd Zuno gets beaten around quite one sidedly until the SB Sword uses the Crash to terminate him. The episode ends with a wedding do over with presumably everything back to normal and the men picking on each other because of the perfume and at this point this is their main charcters traits PLEASE DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN ENDLESS BICKERING. Next episode shows Lion on a skateboard.

Tankd Zuno: Powers include mouth flames and eye energy blasts

Episode 10:

Lion skateboards around a skate park when a teenage kid nearly crashes into him. The kid complains that everyone older than 20 is old and knocks Lion over. He goes after the "brat" and shakes him. His mother, apparently his name is Shinya, asks if he did something bad again. Lion starts falling for her and the three of them eat at her pizza place. She explains his bad life because business has been bad lately. Lion says family should work together and offers to help her pizza place which is apparently named Sweet Pizza. Shinya throws an insult- Wait, that is his sister? Well, I was fooled. Lion offers pizza deliver with Falcon and Dolphin wondering what the hell. I love how the signs are in English IN JAPAN (and they wonder why business has been bad?). Well apparently deliveries help as more orders come in AND people order pizzas. Cut to Meirod Zuno teleporting and turning into a giant skate to move around and form a maze- the hell? Bias mentions how this manipulates space-time to create endless mazes to show the world how evil Volt is. Apparently Lion gets accidentally caught in this maze during a delivery. More people get lost in it as it switches back and forth between the town and wooden walls. Lion encounters some kids unable to find home. Sweet Pizza soon finds out their pizzas are not being delivered on time, there is a Mystery Diners joke in here somewhere. Meirod Zuno attacks Lion and he transforms. Meirod Zuno manages to run off and the Livemen head out upon finding something odd. The trio meets up and tries chasing, but that flunks as they go through office rooms (seriously). Kemp shows up to tell them about Meizord Zuno's maze powers before using an energy boomerang only for them to duck. Thanks to his brain beast he manages to teleport off while random explosions occur until Lion jumps out a window.

Lion returns to Sweet Pizza explaining, but Shinya acts like a jerk. He promises the sister, Yoko, that he will do something about it, specifically destroying Meizord Zuno. Falcon and Dolphin show up to give him a jet-skateboard- WHEN WAS THIS MADE!? HOW!? Shinya whines some more (to be fair he hasn't seen any of this for himself) and skateboards off. He nearly gets run over by a car and somehow they land in a field....... Time-space screwing actually would make sense in this universe to explain all the jerky Toei editing. Colon says she found Meirod Zuno using the Machine Buffalo's radar. Lion tells Shinya to get home and finds out he has an ugly wound on his right leg. Lion skates off with Shinya followed, looking worried. Lion falls over and Colon asks what is wrong. Shinya says he got lost too and he is borrowing the jet-skateboard. He manages to catch up to Meirod Zuno and crash into him. Lion manages to catch up while Kemp sends out jinmers. Falcon and Dolphin show up and Lion transforms, surprising Shinya before the grunts meet their demise. Lion uses the jet-skateboard to fend off the remaining jinmers before ramming into Meirod Zuno, stunning him long enough for the BB to bring him down. Gush Giga Phantom's him back followed by Falcon having Machine Buffalo land so JF, AD, and LL combine into LR. After a Live Cannon shot, LR uses the SB Sword to end Meirod Zuno via the Crash. The episode ends with Shinya delivering pizzas from now on, the business being restored to normal, and Lion saying he has no time for love before skating off and falling over; Falcon even claps. Next episode shows fighting on top of a truck and a guy in viking clothing.

Meirod Zuno: Powers include teleportation, skate morphing, maze forming, hand electric bolts, and a projectile deflecting force field

Episode 11:

At a disco club everyone appears to have a good time when a swimsuit commercial controlled by a brain beast named Hihid Zuno shows up on the TV. He pops out of the screen to attack people. One guy runs into a parking lot and through a wall to tell his crimelord boss when he suddenly turns into a gorilla. The crimelord restrains him while other gorillas bite people outside to convert them. Obler tells his allies he is turning humans into apemen and Bias approves. Hihid Zuno leads his minions like a horde of zombies to attack random children when the Livemen ride in to save them. Hihid Zuno proves to have armor too thick for them. The crimelord shows up on a bike and smacks Hihid Zuno. I just noticed he is wearing the pelt of a large cat and never bothered to remove the claws. This guy beats him up and drags Hihid Zuno on his bike via a chain around the neck. While Dolphin finds him wonderful we cut to him leading the brain beast and apemen to some room. Crimelord tries biting Hihid Zuno to subdue him when the Livemen show up to thank him. Falcon explains they were made by Volt, but the crimelord does not want anyone ordering him around and keeps kicking him. Falcon says they think they are geniuses, but the crimelord says he hates smart people because he hated studying when he was a kid. Apparently he still uses his fingers to count when he notices Falcon's pin for Academia Island and crushes it before punching him. The crimelord goes on saying he wants to be undefeated. The Livemen wonder about him after he heads off.

Hihid Zuno leads the apemen to rob a bank using signs, some comedy with sign switching happens, and money gets taken into a truck. Obler finds all this impossible. At Gran Tortoise the crimelord's real name is Arashi and has an unknown background aside from controlling an underworld. Falcon makes a very insulting comment with the word retard before going after Arashi's truck. He jumps on top of it and tries hijacking it once they are at a quarry- WHY WOULD HE BE DRIVING THERE? Arashi says he wants to be an emperor and the two engage in fistacuffs. Obler jumps in wielding an ax to break them up and take control of his monsters again. Arashi hates this and charges at him. Bias sends out Gush, proving the villains travel via turning into balls of light, and hits Arashi with enough force to knock him down. Obler says he will mutate all humans and Falcon transforms once Dolphin and Lion show up. Jinmers AND apemen? This is one hard fight! Hihid Zuno attacks Falcon who punches him with enough force to cause an explosion followed by surrounding his sword in energy and the BB being used on him. The apemen turn back into normal people while Gush uses the Giga Phantom followed by Falcon calling for Machine Buffalo. A new track plays as JF, AD and LL launch and combine into LR. Projectile exchanging is done before the SB Sword is ued by LR to blow Hihid Zuno up using the Crash. Arashi throws a fit and throws a tree branch around. Gush comes up behind him and a volt fighter uses a tractor beam to carry them to Brain Base. Next episode shows Arashi being transformed into Ashura.

Hihid Zuno: Powers include screen traveling, apeman venom from the right hand jaws, and blasts from the eyes on the right hand head

Episode 12:

After a recap of last episode we see Bias and Arashi talking on Brain Base, the former cuts the latter after getting too close. Obler wonders why Bias wants him to know math during their interrogation because that is what he is doing.... For some reason. Cut to jinmers capturing scientists around Japan with the Livemen trying to find them. They are taken to a cave and Bias comments at Brain Base about a context for survival. Testd Zuno is used to test Arashi and the scientists in complex math problems. Arashi answers instantly and Testd Zuno fires a blast from his screen head at a scientist. The game show next does saying hello in many languages, Arashi eventually winning. The villains wonder how this was possible while the Livemen rush in to save them, beating up jinmers. Falcon asks what is up with Arashi's new costume and he reveals he is now Ashura thanks to Volt. He reveals this was due to Bias putting him in some scientific chamber after playing chess. I can understand the intelligence growth, but the new suit is head scratching. Also he is a doctor now. Ashura thanks Bias for his rebirth. The Livemen can't believe it and Ashura fires eye bolts at them. They transform during it, somehow, and jump out of the cave being chased into a quarry. Ashura whips out a short sword and goes to town on the trio. He soon uses a stomp attack called the Demon Kick and Bias says he is stronger than the other docs, Kemp gets jealous. More fighting ensues with Ashura says he no longer fears anyone.

Ashura sends Testd Zuno around town to rob banks with a squad of jinmers assisting. Jewelry stores are next and Mazenda points this out to Bias. Colon tries telling the Livemen not to go out yet with Falcon mentioning they hit him where it hurts. They head out with Falcon looking like a naval officer while wearing an Academia Island pin. Ashura throws a fit and goes after him. In a train yard Ashura uses a chain on Falcon, proving he still hates the academy. Also music from Carmen starts playing and the Livemen switch clothing around. They get hurt quite badly with jinmers rushing in. Falcon uses one in Ashura's dive attack, forcing it to explode and Ashura goes underground. Testd Zuno throws a fit and the Livemen transform- how did the explosions behind them not damage the train car they were atop of. Testd Zuno says he studied their attack patterns a while back, but Lion uses his jet-skateboard which makes the brain beast dizzy. Once he gets hit, live busters are used followed by the BB. Gush appears atop a train car to bring him back giant sized and Falcon summons Machine Buffalo so LR can form from JF, AD, and LL. Testd Zuno fires energy blasts at LR's weak points and jumps into it, but gets thrown around before the SD Sword is brought out and uses the Crash to destroy him. Ashura gets out of the ground and throws a fit when the other doctors scold him. The four start in-fighting among each other which amuses Bias. Next episode shows Mazenda making crystals and Colon driving a guy on a motorcycle around.

Testd Zuno: Powers include head screen energy blasts, x-ray vision, foresight, and high jumping

Episode 13:

People play tennis at a court when we soon find out they are really jinmers. We see them helping Poisongasd Zuno collecting trash to make poison gas from it. This also solidifies some gas as rocks with dummymen leaving them around town so they will gove off around town. Also the rocks grow big and become gass via radio waves. Bias likes this idea after Mazenda explains it to Bias and this enrages Ashura. Bias stops him and says the experiment is wonderful. At the trash collecting spot a jinmer trips and is affected by poison gas which turns him into his human disguise. The other jinmers think he is a deserter and Mazenda leads the squad after them. Dolphin finds the deserter and tries to help him, a quick shot of the men sleeping in bunkbeds is shown. Dolphin tries calling for back up when Poisongasd Zuno appears, forcing her to transform. He turns into a rocket to attack Dolphin when Colon shows up on a motorcycle. Nobou, I mean the jinmer, appears lovestruck and is taken on the bike. Cut to Dolphin asking what happened and he does not remember. Also the jinmer finds Colon wonderful while noting her parts, even asking for marriage. This guy is /m/ incarnate. Colon gets harassed and Dolphin is jealous. Mazenda and her squad show up and the jinmer takes a hit, revealing cyborg parts. Colon pushes a couple jinmers back and run off. The men get up brushing their teeth wondering where everyone is when they get called in. Falcon and Lion use the Livecougar to show up and take them to a random empty building. The trio wonders why he was trashed and apparently the gas damaged his circuits. Dolphin realizes this was Poisongasd Zuno's gas that did it. Meanwhile, other dummymen place gas rocks across town. The rogue jinmer is asked what is being planned, but he does not remember, Lion saying he is useless. Colon wonders if his love is a malfunction, but Dolphin retorts his bravery.

Colon takes the rogue around (I should note he has a full mohawk at this point) with the Livemen following. Mazenda's plan is about to happen in a few minutes. The clock counts down and he remembers the tennis court. The men think nothing is wrong- wow that makeup cap is very fake. Dolphin throws tennis balls and jinmers ditch their disguise. The rogue gets hurt some more and remembers Poisongasd Zuno about to use radio waves to active gas rocks. The Livemen transform and slay mooks. Poisongasd Zuno summons gas rocks and sets them off with radio waves. Falcon shoots him which makes the rocks go away. Poisongasd Zuno then goes full rocket, but the rogue jinmen stops him at the cost of being blown up. In his final words he tells Colon how happy they were and he self destructs- his name was Mr. Tanaka? Colon cries and runs at his remains in slow motion. I think this episode is why /m/ loves this series so much. The Livemen assault Poisongasd Zuno a bit before bringing out the BB to bring him down. Gush Giga Phantom's him back while Falcon has Machine Buffalo land so JF, AD, and LL form into LR. Poisongasd Zuno wastes no time attacking, but LR ends the fight with the SB Sword via the Crash to blow him up. This is probably the quickest kaiju fight in the franchise so far. The episode ends with the Livemen appreciating Colon for who she is as well as everyone moonwalking. Next episode shows three cyborgs in masks and Falcon becoming a magnet.

Poisongasd Zuno: Powers include trash absorption, horn radio waves, poison gas emit, and a rocket form

Episode 14:

Falcon rides his motorcycle when three cyborgs in hairy masks run up to him and grab onto him. He drives off a cliff, his bike busted, but he climbs up to fight them. Ashura shows up and has them.... Shrink and jump onto his back? They say his new warriors, the Cyber Bunshin, belong to him and sends them out again. Falcon transforms to fight back, barely holding his own. They are soon joined by a brain beast named Elecid Zuno throws electricity at Falcon to send him off a cliff. Falcon tries calling for help with Lion playing on a fami-com and Dolphin closing his eyes so he would lose. I just.... That was dumb. Falcon tries getting away while Ashura tells Bias he will win through slow torture. Bias tell the other doctors to do research. At a river Falcon sees a woman being shocked. Everyone runs off with her, fearing Falcon, with Ashura asking if he likes being an electric man. Apparently Elecid Zuno charged his body with a lot of electricity, even preventing him from transforming. Falcon tries fighting, but fails and runs off into a field well into the night. He spots a radio station ran by two boys. He asks them to transmit to coordinates, but accidentally shocks one. After that a bunch of appliances get stuck to him like a magnet- HOW DO CERAMIC CUPS BECOME MAGNETIC!? Falcon is chased out and the next day Falcon is seen on a monitor being attacked by towns people with Colon even analyzing the problem.... HOW!? They have cameras everywhere with scanners?

Falcon keeps walking around with a street sign being pulled toward him. Ashura enjoys his suffering before Falcon gets caught on a bus which shocks everyone on board. The bus stops and Dolphin and Lion show up to help him as the passengers throw rocks at him. A nun shows up trying to exorcise Falcon. She pulls him off- That was Dolphin? HOW THE HELL DID SHE CHANGE THAT FA- THIS IS DUMB! She notices the magnetic properties are wearing off. Lion tries helping him by taking a lot of the electricity, which works apparently. I just.... Oi. Ashura shows up cursing them and the Livemen transform to fight the Cyber Bunshin. The Livemen lose badly until the use flying kicks to knock one into the other two. Falcon uses his sword to redirect some electric bolts at Elecid Zuno followed by firing the BB on him. Gush shows up after Ashura runs so he can use the Giga Phantom. Falcon calls Machine Buffalo, JF, AD, and LL launch, and they become LR. The titans go in full melee, LR tossing and Elecid Zuno bolt launching. After LR uses a flying punch the fight ends with the SB Sword executing the Crash which ends in an explosion. The episode ends with the trio putting their hands together and Lion pretending to be shocked, and Ashura and his minions looking down on them from a cliff. Next episode shows a kid friendly robot helping Lion and Gush hunting them.

Elecid Zuno: Only known power is a left hand electric emitter
=================================================
Not counting eps 11 onward, I was going to include 11, but I am stopping at 10 because of the new villain. For positives I'll be quick since there are very few of them: I like the idea of the villains having a base in orbit since it gives off the idea they can attack at any time, I like Gran Tortoise as it is a welcomed idea for a base that is also a mecha, I like the idea of of the volt fighters having a close combat weapon, I like the use of making this a revenge based story, Colon is a neat character thus far, the mecha aspects have nothing wrong with them like with previous entries, the music is a bit of an upgrade from Maskman, and I think villain dynamics have nice potential. With that said this series is pretty bad. First of all the first two episodes are designed to show that Academia Island was blown to kingdom come yet in the next episode everything is just FINE? WHY!? Tokyo I understand since it is friggin huge, but this takes place mostly on a tiny island! You really couldn't have had some, I don't know shots of construction equipment working to show the place being rebuilt first? The heroes are a strange case with Dolphin being the calm one while Falcon and Lion are pretty much the same personality wise and NEVER QUIT BICKERING. They constantly one up each other for no reason! This isn't adding that both of them act very lazy and get easily distracted! Also a side note, what is it with Japanese heroines and bow and arrows weapons/water motifs? Not counting other sentai women there is Zelda, Sylvia and Reika from Aquarion, Angleg and Nors from Super Robot Wars, Chizuru from Combattler V, Juno from Arjuna, probably others I'm not remembering, is there a mythological bit I'm not getting here? Anyway, the villains are very straight forward: psychological, chemical, and biological warfare defines them, how did these guys get accepted to Academia Island when they had evil intentions from the beginning? Just.... WHAT!? Bias I will save for later since leaders tend to remain in mystery until the end of a series, but at this point I am wondering that if he wants world domination why attack Japan? Oh lord this is Black Magma all over again, isn't it? Then there are the giant fight scenes, they happen far too fast even for sentai standards, I can barely type this sentence as fast as the fights go! They only last ten seconds before the sword gets brought out! Not to mention that even though sentai isn't great with its science, did they honestly screw up basic dinosaur history? (this is before Zyuranger, don't any of you dare comment about that) Such minor writing fixes would solve this! Hell, even second graders can correct mistakes like this! Minor tangent, but what species was Gon? Couldn't they have given his species a name? The boy with him had parents that were paleontologists, him identifying the species or calling him a mutant would have meant "yeah, they put effort into this", but instead it comes across "they just slapped some dinosaur parts to this guy, didn't they?" This brings me to the biggest flaw of this series, the kind that if it wasn't present I'd call it mediocre instead of bad: Inconsistency in tone. It can't determine if it wants to be a serious revenge story, a tragedy, or a full blown comedy! You can't just exchange these three tones interchangeably in the span of ten friggin episodes! Really hoping things get better because we'll be covering Ashura next time as well as character balance (since there are only three so far it is a little hard to determine things this fast). Whiplash this hard occurs and this is considered the best showa series to most fans? Really? I guess the other episodes must be absolutely amazing!

I do partially take back what I said about it being Kabuto and WoO levels of bad, at least the pacing here is not slow as hell.

Episode 15:

At a robotic engineering research facility we see an adorable battle-robot being tested and by tested I mean being shot with a pair of bazookas. The robot fires a laser gun from the top of it's head in defense (that accuracy is kind of bad). Supposedly this is thanks to a "metaforce jewel". Gush uses a video eye and shoots it with what looks like a sawed off shotgun, making it go crazy. Lion nearly runs over the robot on the street as it notices it shutting down. He takes the bot just as Gush was going to finish it. At Gran Tortoise Colon notices it has missiles and "neo lasers" powered by its jewel to explain to the Livemen. The robot proceeds to give Lion some flowers in a glass because d'awe. Dolphin suggests opening it up and it pushes her away. Cut to Bias saying a metaforce jewel is the more powerful ore in the galaxy.... So he's an alien or a space traveler? So yeah, infinite energy, Ashura and Kemp volunteer, but Bias finds their recent failures annoying and sends Gush out with Fired Zuno to assist him. The next day we see Lion taking the robot to a theme park on a skateboard. The montage is actually amusing until it bumps into a pole. Dolphin notices he named it Hanako. Gush shows up to spoil the fun and Lion transforms to fight him only to be punched. Falcon and Dolphin follow up only for Fired Zuno and some jinmers to stop them. Lion takes quite the beating from Gush who notices Hanako in a bank (yes they are still in a park). Colon tells them Hanako's jewel has infinite energy emitting from its jewel while the trio hides from the villains, but that soon fails. They soon lose Hanako in the chao and Lion thinks she was a burden to them. Gush finds Hanako in a junk yard and Lion shows up to throw barrels at Gush. This gives them a head start as Gush busts down walls to what I assume is a school.

The chase takes to a rooftop where Gush is climbing after them. Then a warehouse where Lion kicks Gush Tarzan style, actually dealing a blow. Okay, the limping makes it convincing, they are ripping of The Terminator. Gush tries sneaking behind Lion only for Hanako to use an extendo-arm to knock him down. This then leads them to a quarry with a huge dump truck, not quite Sly 3 big, but still big. Even Gush has issues holding the dump truck back at first, but manages to push back and force Lion out so he can choke him. Falcon and Dolphin show up only for Fired Zuno to unleash the grunts again. Hanako charges toward Lion to take shots for him before firing her neo laser WHICH SHE NEVER BOTHERED USING UNTIL NOW. She says goodbye to Lion before self destructing in front of Gush who's left arm pops off from that explosion. Lion transforms to help his teammates because he feels invincible since Hanako saved him I don't know why the hell. Fired Zuno handles him well until he gets an electrified Lion Punch followed by the BB. Gush manages to still use the Giga Phantom while Falcon brings in Machine Buffalo so JF, AD, and LL can merge into LR. After a quick projectile exchange LR ends the fight with the SB Sword using the Crash. At dusk a funeral is held for Hanako while the narrator mentions the metaforce jewel disappearing. Next episode shows innocent people and the Livemen becoming hopping vampires.

Fired Zuno: Only known power is twin hand flamethrowers with toothy jaws

Episode 16:

Falcon and Lion ride to a beach, the latter using the emergency break to talk to random women because stupidity. Also one calls Lion an octopus once they drive off, is tako an insult? The sky goes dark and the guys see people running away from a Chinese hopping vampire (Jiang Shi) that possessed naval officers from Academia Island. The vampire uses telekinesis to throw a bike before they switch their attention to Falcon and Red. Guys, notice, they are NOT BICKERING WITH EACH OTHER! THERE IS HOPE! Dolphin drives by and notices the vampire and his possessed humans before they disappear, returning the sky to normal. Falcon apparently ran off in the chaos and reads a note about a lost boy (I should note this vampire looks like a child). He tries hiding if from Dolphin and Lion before running off. They notice him acting strange (NAW!) and Falcon notices this note was a love letter he wrote a while back. This reaffirms something happened at Academia Island, meaning people could read his old love letter- OUR HERO FOLKS! Falcon goes there, walking around rubble (nice consistency!) of a girl's locker room where he left it. Suddenly notes appear all around him as the sky darkens, among them are schematics and tests. He starts seeing spirits rise from the grave and it appears Obler is responsible using the brain beast Plasmad Zuno. At Brain Base Kemp explains Plasmad Zuno absorbs ghost type plasma- SOULS DO NOT WORK LIKE THAT! Mazenda mentions that dead souls would make a good army and insults Ashura. Bias does not care and just wants science to improve. Falcon notices one of his love letters which gets stuck to a reanimated corpse. Obler notices him and comments about him not being smart enough to find them- YOU USED HIS PAPERS AND ACADEMIA STUDENTS HOW WOULD HE NOT PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER!

Lion confirms to Dolphin and Colon that Falcon cannot be found before they conclude he must be on Aca- COME ON! Obler soon reads one of the notes with Falcon and Lion showing up. Falcon runs from them so they handle Plasmad Zuno. The sky returns to normal as Falcon chases Obler. Dolphin, Lion, and Plasmad Zuno show up while Obler reads his love note. It turns out to be Mazenda who rejected him. Harsh. Falcon feels ashamed because of what she turned out to be and tried to keep it secret. Obler jumps down from the cliff and asks if he wants to join Volt. Lion tells him to screw off as he and Dolphin says they are his friend before they transform. Plasmad Zuno summons the hopping souls to fight them, vampire boy attacking Lion with electric shocks. Lion thinks they should act like the hopping souls and that causes them to rest in peace. Plasmad Zuno gets assaulted with the sky returning to normal followed by the BB. Gush Giga Phantom's him back followed by Falcon sending in Machine Buffalo so LR can be brought out. Plasmad Zuno acts like a hopping vampire until the Live Cannon brings him down and the SB Sword is whipped out by LR to destroy him via the Crash. The episode ends with the Livemen paying respects to the dead students and Falcon saying the docs made a mistake wondering why they did it. Next episode shows dolls and plushies flying around.

Plasmad Zuno: Powers include converting souls into jiang shis, mouth fire balls, teleportation, and levitation

Episode 17:

Dolphin bikes around and notices a girl running track. She trips and Dolphin asks what is wrong as she notes her crying. Track girl cries to her clown doll, Toto, she cannot beat her old record. Also a flashback that Toto was given to her sister, Haruko. Even the doll cries, weird. Gush appears saying track girl has the heart Kemp was looking for. Cut to Dolphin going to a milkshake shop telling the guys what happened. Track girl, Reiko, is trying to win an event because Haruko is suffering from heart disease. After that, Kemp tells Gush he is interested in the doll because emotional power. He has Gush manipulate Reiko's dreams where she must use red track shoes to win in exchange for Toto. The next day some red track shoes are left on a bench for her and she asks Toto to forgive her. She runs off and it cries. Kemp places it near a chaos phantom so it can control other dolls and Gush turns it into Pierod Zuno. Wasting no time, Kemp sends out Pierod Zuno to turn mannequins into vampires and makes random plush toys come alive and armed with needles.... Somehow. Ashura likes the idea of humans not suspecting dolls to be weapons as they attack well into the morning. They find the Livemen and attack them, one emitting gas. Pierod Zuno shows up after they are karate chopped. Kemp pops out to be smug and Pierod Zuno attacks. Dolphin notices the doll face is Toto before transforming with the guys. Toto cries after being hit with the live blasters. Dolphin tells them to stop, but they get blasted too. She tells them the doll sheds tears AND THEY CUT AWAY TO SHOW REIKO RUNNING HOW THE HELL DID THEY ESCAPE? Dolphin tries asking Reiko what happened to Toto and she replies to the old none of your business line. Insert doing your best line here until Dolphin says Toto is crying for her. She runs off shortly after.

The Livemen track her at track on Gran Tortoise when Colon notices her shoes are making her overheat. Also the monitor calls them death shoes. Dolphin rides her bike to her only for Pierod Zuno to stop her. She tries talking to the brain beast to help Reiko and it seems to get through after a bit. Pierod Zuno runs off to save Reiko, forcing her to run away. Pierod Zuno uses a couple ball bombs to stop her and Dolphin tells her it is Toto who is still looking out for her. She tells Reiko the shoes are evil and Toto cries. Reiko throws the shoes, causing them to explode. Toto's face is blasted off Pierod Zuno by Kemp and the men showing up, causing the Livemen to transform and fight. Four clown ninjas and random jinmers appear only to be beaten to a pulp. Pierod Zuno holds his own against the Livemen until the BB is brought out. Gush undoes this, Falcon sends out Machine Buffalo, it lands, and JF, AD, and LL become LR. Anyone else convinced the Livemen teleport? We never do see them enter their carrier or vehicles after all. Pierod Zuno jumps around until LR punches it followed by the SB Sword blowing him up with the Crash. Among the wreckage Toto is found by Dolphin and gives him back to Reiko. She says they should train hard and even if she does not win her sister will understand. The episode ends with the narrator saying that the Livemen learned dolls have souls and Haruko watches Reiko train via a wheelchair. Next episode shows Lion fighting a brain beast that was his former love.

Pierod Zuno: Powers include animating eye ray, ball bombs called pieroballs, energy blast throw, four clown ninjas, and high jumping

Episode 18:

Bias throws a glass bottle with a heart band inside saying Mazenda signed her old self away upon joining. He demandes why her plans involve love, something he cannot tolerate in his geniuses. She says she isn't like the pitiful humans, but gets called out by having the heart in the bottle which is apparently a gene. She explains she will bring chaos with it in her next plan so he breaks the bottle. Cut to Lion skateboarding with other skaters, doing tricks- Why is does everything look foggy? A bo crashes and someone looking like Mazenda bandages him up. Lion finds this weird and follows her. She then helps an old woman up some stairs, Lion still finds it strange. After that Mazenda helps get a girl's ball out of a pond and stop a runaway stroller with a baby in it. Upon doing the latter she and Lion meet just as they stop it. He concludes she is someone else so they talk on a bench, Mazenda calling herself Rei. The real Mazenda comments nearby that Lion is falling for her trap. After that Lion buys her a heart pendant and tells her to wait while he buys them ice cream. Mazenda walks up and bops her, telling her to do her job before Lion gets back. At the beach (no I am not making these jumps up) Rei says her name is written like the world cold so she runs off to a lighthouse. Lion follows her and falls down a trap door, somehow not breaking any of his bones. Rei sobs and Mazenda walks down some stairs before zapping her, revealing her true self to be a brain beast named Twind Zuno. The heart pendant drops toward Lion and Mazenda reveals she will use Twind Zuno as a bomb at Gran Tortoise. Falcon and Dolphin appear seconds later to stop all this. The trio makes it outside where jinmers attack and Lion transforms. Twind Zuno handles Falcon and Dolphin easily until Lion saves them, but tells them not to use the BB.

At Gran Tortoise Lion tells them what happened with Falcon noting it might be one of Mazenda's plans. Lion runs out PO'd while Twind Zuno turns back into a human and gets sad. Kemp tells Mazenda she is useless now and hopes she doesn't want to be human again. Little do either of them know Ashura heard their conversation. Lion finds Twind Zuno and the whole we can't be together shtick ensues. Apparently she was made from the heart gene in the bottle from earlier when Falcon and Dolphin show up, now in new civilian outfits they will be wearing for the rest of the series. She says she does not want to be a brain beast anymore and Lion gives her the heart pendant back, making her cry. Mazenda sends a squad of jinmers on them, Lion gives a quick monologue, and tries taking off with Twind Zuno, but Mazenda stops them. She transforms Twind Zuno into her old self while saying goodbye to Lion. Mazenda laughs while Ashura finds it weird. The Livemen transform and fighting occurs. Lion stuns Twind Zuno so the BB can be unleashed on her. Mazenda pouts while Gush uses the Giga Phantom and Falcon sends out LR. The Live Cannon stuns her long enough for LR to use the SB Sword to execute the Crash, ending Twin Zuno. At Brain Base Ashura brings Mazenda the heart pendant Lion gave to Twind Zuno because TENSION. The episode ends with the Livemen being sad over what happened to Twind Zuno's good self. Next episode shows people reading books and Obler being tired.

Twind Zuno: Powers include a human disguise, twin head electric wires, hair electric bolts, and mouth fire balls

Episode 19:

Bias tells the docs they are still soft and throws a fit over their failures. He launches needles from his left fingers that shocks them. Obler rebels and says he will make a brain beast himself. Cut to Tokyo at night where Falcon almost runs over a random boy. The boy tells him about a cram school that teaches English and that is why he is out so late. We see a kid's worst nightmare, harsh schooling, and Falcon proposes playing baseball with him tomorrow, unaware a robot named Study Brain is watching them. The next day we see the Livemen playing baseball with some local kids. Study Brain attacks kids trying to get a ball by gluing books to their hands fileld with Volt propaganda they read out loud. The Livemen see the lettering Volt Bible and the book shocks them. Random people are walking around forcing to read this book, Colon gets worried. Falcon promises to the boy from earlier he will fix this. Study Brain goes to a theme park saying he does not forgive those that play, but Falcon takes his giant pen. Study Brain says he is just doing what he is told and once Obler appears to blab his plans the robot takes his pen back. In a flashback we find out Obler made him with his own intelligence. Explosive Volt Bibles are thrown at the Livemen before they transform followed by jinmers. This episode accurate represents Florida's educational system while it was under the tyrant called Jeb Bush and his hellish pet the FCAT. Never thought Liveman could do political satire of future American events! Fighting goes on and the Livemen start losing. Falcon sends Study Brain flying and onto a roller coster and he wonders what is going on. Obler calls out to him as Study Brain starts enjoying the roller coster. After that he proceeds to enjoy the rides and starts skipping around gleefully.

Study Brain sees some boys playing rugby and laughs when one falls into the mud. He leaves his backpack and tries playing with them, but just ends up scaring them off. Obler demands he explain himself and Falcon explains he is a copy off him. He concludes that Obler wanted to play as a child, but was always forced to study. He sees this as a chance to regain his humanity. In a flashback we see Obler's mom saying his brain is special while he sees people having fun outside and even throws a toy plane out there. So yeah, helicopter/bad parenting. Obler tells him to stop playing and tries zapping him, but upon doing that Obler returns to his human self. Lion is excited, but Obler pushes him aside and is distraught his powers are gone. He screams and Ashura shows up just to mock Obler before sending out the Cyber Bunshin. The Livemen transform to fend them off, but fail. Study Brain is surrounded by Ashura and his goons and gets energy blasted. Suddenly, a strange figure of energy appears and fights Ashura. He then pulls out a cross and turns Obler back into a mutant before leaving. Kemp is impressed someone that knows more science than they do exists. The fighting continues and Study Brain fights the Livemen. Falcon stuns him long enough for the BB to bring him down. Gush uses the Giga Phantom followed by Falcon summoning Machine Buffalo so JF, AD, and LL can be launched so LR can be used. LR manages to get a hold of the giant pen, impale Study Brain with it, and terminates him using the SB Sword executing the Crash. After that the Livemen notice Obler slowly walking off from a hill with Lion convinced he can be turned back. Falcon thinks he was very sad as a child before they remember the strange alien. Next episode shows Obler as a human and the alien exorcist returning.

Study Brain: Powers include a giant pen staff with a machine gun and energy balls and explosive adhesive books called Volt Bibles

Episode 20:

Bias yells at Obler for coming back after the events of last episode and even states he is no longer his pupil. Bias then kicks Obler down after he begs. Cut to the Livemen being attacked by a jinmer.... Yeah, just one, and Lion slays it. Saiseid Zuno appears and fires a regeneration beam which reactives six jinmers which attack. Lion beats them up quickly, but they.... Multiply after regenerating? Whatever, Falcon and Dolphin attack him only for his regenerative properties to repair his damage. Wasting no time the BB is brought out. However, the exorcist alien from the last episode shows up and uses his cross to give Saiseid Zuno a barrier to block- Wait, it was a beam and now it is an energy ball? The exorcist reveals his name is Gildos Seijin and that Saiseid Zuno is his creation based on the science of planet Gildos. The other villains are surprised, but Bias gives a sinister smile. Fighting erupts and Falcon cannot damage him. LL shows up piloted by Colon to help out and use the Lion Cannon. Insert mountain running stock footage here. Later we see Gildos Seijin talking to Bias whose genius is known throughout the universe. Gildos Seijin even asked to be taken in as an apprentice. Bias is impressed and scolds Obler for his failures. Bias tells the other doctors they can start continuing into space Obler turns back into a human. His allies say he is not one of them and he freaks out not knowing what to do. He takes Gildos Seijin's cross and runs- wait that was a sword? He takes a volt fighter to fly down to earth with jinmers chasing him. He has the fighter dive underwater, forcing his attackers to leave. He ends up on shore to some woman's house who is eating rice. Obler knocks on her back door and we find out it is his mom who is told he disappeared from Academia Island. Obler looks for his laboratory hoping it was untouched, saying he is working on an important experiment. His mother is convinced he is a genius and Obler opens the door to his secret lab thinking he can use the mini-sword's energy, vowing he will not be surpassed.

The Livemen investigate where Obler crashed and find his mom's house. In his lab he hooks himself up to wires and screams, everyone hearing it. The Livemen show up asking if he made it home. During this Obler spins around and mutates. His mom tells the Livemen not to interfere as he is working. His mom goes on about how intelligent he is complete with grade skipping, convinced he makes no mistakes. Falcon tries to tell her, but Obler opens the door revealing a monstrous form before mutating back into his monster self. Falcon yells about doing this in front of his mom saying he can rejoin volt. Well, insanity boarders with intellect. Outside Obler chases the Livemen with Saiseid Zuno and Gildos Seihin watching. Once the Livemen transform the jinmers attack only to be taken down. Gildos Seijin wants to see how is cross-sword is used by an earth genius. Also, Obler's ax is a flamethrower, which is pretty cool. Obler uses the cross-sword to control Saiseid Zuno for more jinmers. Falcon targets the cross sword and shoots it out of Obler's hands before throwing it at Saiseid Zuno, damaging him long enough for the BB to be used and destroy him this time. Obler gets smacked by Gush before using the Gigan Phantom and Falcon calls for Machine Buffalo so LR can form from JF, AD, and LL combining. LR grabs Saiseid Zuno and throws him around before whipping out the SB Sword and destroying him with the Crash. The episode ends with Obler's mom in tears with the Livemen being sad. Next episode shows Obler's mom crying and Obler being chained up.

Saiseid Zuno: Powers include a regeneration beam under the face and regenerating skin

Episode 21:

Obler runs from the Livemen while his mother cries in front of his picture wondering why this happened to him. Ashura attacks Obler with his Cyber Bunshin. They jam needs into his body before chaining him to a lab table. Ashura explains that they will turn him into a brain beast and Gush proceeds to do so with the other docs watching. Oblerd Zuno is formed and Obler passes out. Cut to Oblerd Zuno attacking the Livemen and beating them very easily. They try talking him down, but that fails. The other doctors find this amusing because they do not realize they are fighting a brain beast. Bias notes the competition for best genius has started. The real Obler shows up saying he will beat the Livemen. The docs are amazed at him living. Kemp and Mazenda make him recall how he joined Volt. Apparently the trio joined after they were able to solve computer problems made by Bias. Obler became desparate since unlike Kemp and Mazenda he got no test. Kemp drops the hammer revealing Bias let him join out of pity. Obler says he refuses to lose to the point even his brain beast had enough and both take on the Livemen. Lion handles both alone while Colon tries to figure out who is the real one, but their DNA is identical so it is hard to tell. Also we learn the axes used by both are more like glorified clubs. Falcon and Dolphin and swung off a hill. Lion soon spots the real Obler via talking about his mother. He continues talking to Obler about how is mom cares and that Volt is evil before both trip off a cliff.

Lion is determined to get Obler back to normal so he runs to his house where he sees his mom. However, she rejects her child stating he is dead. He tries talking her out of it and mentions Study Brain and the flashbacks associated with him. Obler tried his hardest to live up to her expectation, even to the point of reaching his limits. Now is the time he needs his mom the most and she tears up. I won't lie, this is quite sentimental and well executed. Lion takes her to Obler who is barely conscious. She says it was her fault and hat he doesn't have to be forced to do anything anymore. Oblerd Zuno shows up to attack, but Obler saves her by taking the blow, all in slow motion. He kicks his brain beast down before falling over, saying to his mom he wants to be human again. To make the scene more sad we see a flashback of them hugging as mother and child. He turns back into human form just as the docs show up. Falcon and Dolphin appear and transform to protect the family. Oblerd Zuno and the docs attack full force. The Livemen concentrate on Oblerd Zuno before using the BB. Gush uses the Giga Phantom followed by Falcon calling in Machine Buffalo so it lands and LR can be used from JF, AD, and LL combining. LR wastes no time tossing Oblerd Zuno and taking his ax as a throwing weapon before using the SB to make him explode from the Crash. The Livemen talk to Obler and his mom who says her boy is exhausted. Obler returned to normal because he was with his mother and he looks at butterflies. The episode ends with the narrator saying his heart is young again with the trio being relieved. Next episode shows a rock show and the introduction of Butchy who fights Dolphin.

Oblerd Zuno: Powers include an ax, high jumping, tusk bombs from the torso, and a face beam
=================================================
Not wasting time, positives first. The ranger balance of episodes, no joke, is probably the best of the franchise up to this point. Nobody outshines anyone else nor is anyone forgotten. Plus Colon is still cool. One thing I did not cover about LR is that it has protrusions coming out of the V portion of its head which makes it look like one of those old beanie hats with spinners. Falcon and Lion are doing things that are *gasp* NOT BICKERING! Better late then never I guess. The episodes dealing with Ashura's introduction and Obler's redemption are really well done; the latter actually did a great job making this villain sympathetic and even gave him a decent ending. With that all said the negatives like inconsistent writing still plagues a pretty much all the other episodes. Forced emotional moments? Yes, but I have seen worse. At least they are trying to make some consistent effort with the tone this time (were there writer debacles about that or something?). Gildos Seijin I will save for later. Now for neutrals. Ashura using direct warfare and even has his own counter-sentai squad I think was a good direction since there would be two trios to give the Livemen trouble, both on an emotional and a physical level. Bias I find impressive: He somehow is so intelligent he is known throughout space as such yet he steers his attention toward Earth. You know, the planet known for conquering a ton of invaders like the Black Cross Fuhrer, Shine, the Vader Clan, Banriki Baoh, Inazuma Ginga, Silva and Balzion, Gozma, and the Mess; since Metal Heroes is canon to sentai this also extends to the Makuu and Madou (not counting the Fuuma because they were originally from Earth). I am convinced at this point that Earth is basically a challenge for aggressive aliens to see who the hell would conquer this world, it must have a reputation! Since Kamen Rider is sort of canon to the same universe this also extends to the Great Leader, the Galaxy King, the Dogma Kingdom, and at this point the Century King was dying (this did air alongside Kamen Rider Black), taking that into account maybe that is why so many aliens are trying to attack this planet at once: Its main gods are dying off and the planet is polluting itself plus over population, resources and bragging rights ahoy! Alright, enough of my theories. Clearly Bias must have some motive for having his geniuses fighting although why he allows them to waste his resources and nonsensical plans I find odd. Plus if he wants world domination, and can strike anywhere, why only attack Japan? The Livemen would have a hard time attacking him in a European or African country. Whatever, the series is getting less painful over time, hopefully it will continue to do so.

A horse has won the Triple Crown for the first time in thirty seven years! Speaking of excitement here is part 4!

Episode 22:

A pair of rock stars named Butchi and Guitard Zuno play for a crowd, specifically a creepy lullaby that makes the crowd drowsy. Once they are asleep Butchi comments about how their global performance will be a success. Cut to the beach where Dolphin finds a tiny hermit crab on her motomachine. She hears an electric piano over a kilometer away (with the same volume inside the building). The piano is being played by some girl in a classroom, Dolphin claps while seeing him outside which distracts the girl. Insert random sequence of her being a pop star on stage here. That night at Tokyo, Butchi and Guitard Zuno make a bar go to sleep followed by singing the next day which leads to a car crash forming a fire. The Livemen show up and Butchi reveals he is from planet Chibuchi. Dolphin comments about having to deal with another alien while Butchi goes on about how his planet's song will put Earth life to sleep. Can I get the soundtrack because I could use this to fight my insomnia. They start playing which puts the Livemen into a drowsy state until they press buttons on their belts to cancel out the sound. This allows a squad of jinmers to appear from behind them and strike. Butchi proceeds to attack with eye blasts and enlarged fists. This causes them to go back into their civilian forms, knocking out the guys and forcing Dolphin to run. Colon shows up in the Livecougar and vulcan's them while saving the men. Butchi says it is useless before we see the two roller-skate around Brain Base. The docs are annoyed while Colon is unable to wake the men. Bias starts laughing about their devilish song while Dolphin hears piano girl playing which gets her out of her drowzy state. Colon tells her it can nullify the effects.

Butchi and Guitard Zuno attack piano girl, Kumiko, and Dolphin shows up to help her. At a cave by the shore Dolphin tells Kumiko everything, but fails to believe her while saying she needs to practice for a concert tomorrow. They are attacked by random arrows before Guitard Zuno pops out. Both go into the ocean with Butchi thinking they are dead, allowing them to put the town to sleep. Dolphin bandages Kumiko's right wrist which was injured and gives her some words of encouragement. Guitard Zuno notices his guitar is not working while Dolphin show sup with a keyboard guitar (because the 80s!), but shortly into playing it she screws up. They two aliens fight her and Kumiko runs away, seeing a Licca Piano on the beach. She plays on the little piano which prevents Guitard Zuno from playing; this also causes everyone to start waking up. Dolphin beats the two up and the men show up to help, now full of energy and insulting Butchi by calling him a space comedian. Once the Livemen transform they wail on jinmers and Dolphin demonstrates her super fast swimming. Also, Lion acquired a new bazooka called the Lion Bazooka. The trio form their weapons together to form the Triple Bazooka to stun Guitard Zuno followed by the BB. Gush uses the Giga Phantom and Falcon brings out LR. Guitard Zuno tries jamming out, but it quickly taken out by the Live Cannon and the SD Sword using the Crash. After that Dolphin tries playing the piano from Kumiko on the beach. The episode ends with the Livemen and Kumiko enjoying their day at the beach. Next episode shows Kemp with a sword and Dolphin tied up.

Guitard Zuno: Powers include a hypnotic guitar that fires lasers and high jumping

Episode 23:

Wow the video quality is grainy this episode. Falcon encounters Colon dressed as a human with an umbrella. He wonders why she is dressed like that and what Falcon said about a "new alien today" it is very likely this episode takes place the same day as the last one. He drives off and Colon throws a fit because she wanted to help. Cut to Brain Base where Bias has the docs do homework (seriously) with their new ally, Butchi. Basically a montage of computer typing and chemical mixing. Kemp thinks he has a new metal alloy called Giga and Bias is impressed. The other villains are impressed while Kemp insults Butchi for his intelligence. Bias says their homework is leading toward his Giga plan, shocking everyone. Falcon sees a glaring light and is attacked by Kend Zuno who chops his motorcycle up with a katana. Kemp jumps down and asks if Falcon is impressed by the giga metal sword that will beat him. Falcon transforms to fight Kend Zuno, but his falcon sword is sliced in half and Kemp enjoys it, laughing like crazy whil he gets beaten up. Falcon forms a new one via energy I think, but still loses badly. Colon tells this to Dolphin and Lion who rush after him. Colon analyzes what Kend Zuno is made of and the numbers impress her. I assume they are kilometers per square inch. Colon tries giving Falcon advice, but it keeps distracting him before he goes back into civilian form. Kemp demands Falcon acknowledge his intellect and says it is the first step in the Giga plan- STOP TELLING THE HEROES YOUR PLANS! Kend Zuno keeps attacking, eventually forcing Falcon to fall into a river. Falcon feels ashamed for running like a coward when Dolphina and Lion show up. He tells them Volt has begun with a Giga plan and that they do not have enough time to make a sword to counter Kend Zuno. Colon runs over saying Falcon needs a speed increase. Basically he needs to strike in becoming a tenth of a second faster, a number so important it was seriously in the title. Falcon goes on about being a living thing unlike Colon and she runs off crying.

Colon becomes upset and Dolphin tries to explain he was upset. Kemp shows up and starts attacking Dolphin, eventually grabbing her and holding her hostage before taking off with her. LITERALLY SECONDS LATER Falcon makes his was to a cliff where Kemp has a bunch of jinmers waiting for Falcon while Dolphin is chained up and tape gagged. I get the chains, but why would Volt have masking tape lying around- Whatever. Also, when I was looking up this series on Google Images a while back, apparently a lot of fans liked seeing Dolphin tied up, I guess it made them feel funny as a kid; it doesn't help there are four or five random zoom ins of her during the fight (did Toei decide to make decent editing?). Kend Zuno goes on the offensive, injuring Falcon quite a bit. Lion and Colon notice and the latter dives underwater and runs- YOU HAVE GIANT ROBOTS AND A FLYING CARRIER! Lion follows her while Kemp joins in the fight with a Giga sword of his own, but Colon takes the blow. Falcon kicks Kemp and asks why Colon did it. He realizes she had a heart the whole time and there is a random shot of a seagull flying because.... I do not know. Falcon keeps fighting Kend Zuno, they do a dramatic slash with Kend Zuno losing and Lion beats up the jinmers before untying Dolphin. Once the two transform they stun Kemp and use the BB on Kend Zuno. Gush shows up for giant revival, Falcon calls in Machine Buffalo, it lands, and JF, AD, and LL form LR. Kend Zuno lands some hits, but LR shakes it off and uses the SD Sword to destroy him via the Crash. After that Falcon offers Colon to come on patrol with Falcon, which she assumes is a date. Next episode shows kids with blindfolds being turned into pigs.

Kend Zuno: Powers include high jumping and a giga metal katana

Episode 24:

Falcon runs on a beach while a tire is tied to him because training. He finds a scorpion near some boy, but he reveals it is just a fake. The two talk a bit, Falcon commenting about his fake scorpion being impressive. Apparently school prevents the boy from doing craft work and other fun kids do, specifically "cramschool". More political commentary about Jeb Bush's Florida before he took over? Cut to a class where a teacher tries teaching math including to craft boy. After class the kids are spied on by Mazenda. She offers them special goggles which look like blindfolds which says will make them better at studying. Butad Zuno appears and Mazenda tells him to grant their wish. Energy strings come from his pig-like snout and Kemp explains to Bias it is made to turn children into pigs.... WHY!? The next day the kids get better at math save for craft boy who is apparently named Jun. After class Jun remembers a bunch of insults hurled at him for not being smart enough when Falcon shows up with a log saying they should make a totem pole, even having schematics. Falcon talks about wanting to be a star soccer player as a kid, trying to do a flip kick but failing. Falcon says he continues to do it and even tries it with his jacket only to fall flat. Jun says he will work hard while the other kids are being brainwashed by Mazenda and Butad Zuno. Jun feels down the next day as kids keep calling him loser. He mentions to Falcon and Dolphin about a mysterious female teacher and the Livemen decide to investigate by entering the school. Mazenda eventually appears and sends Butad Zuno on them. Also she somehow got an energy whip and the area now takes place in a forest with jinmers. Fighting occurs and the villains soon escape.

That night the children start turning into pigs- I wonder if that one episode of Kamen Rider Black RX was inspired by this. Colon informs the Livemen of this. The next day Falcon sees the incomplete totem poll and their plans, he realizes Jun is trying to do the Volt study method. He manages to save him under Mazenda's watch (where was Butad Zuno?). Jun proclaims he'd rather be lazy than an idiot, but Falcon smacks him saying there is no other way and blah blah blah this goes on too long. They eventually make it to a pool where Jun says two kids as pigs that want to be turned back. Mazenda shows up to laugh and unleash Butad Zuno on Falcon. Eventually they fall to ground level near a shed to get the fighting away from the kids. The others show up, but Falcon tells them to back off as he rushes in slow motion dodging fire balls. He manages to do a backflip kick on a fire ball back at Butad Zuno and FIRE BALLS DO NOT WORK LIKE THAT! Mazenda and the jinmers show up only to get taken out once the Livemen transform to pummel them. The Triple Bazooka is used on Butad Zuno followed by the BB to terminate him. After that the kids are returned to normal, Gush Giga Phantoms him back, and Falcon summons LR. Butad Zuno rushes in and launches nose fire balls, but LR throws a flying punch followed by the SB Sword using the Crash to finish him off. The episode ends with Jun promising to do better, the kids apologizing, and everyone setting up the now finished totem pole which reflects the Liveman animals. Next episode shows the Livemen being beaten up by past brain beasts and a kid with a gun.

Butad Zuno: Powers include energy strings form the nostrils, hot steam from the nostrils, and nose fire balls called the Fire Oink

Episode 25:

I will give this episode credit, I was not aware Buddhism had holidays; the more you know!

What is with these grainy quality beginnings? At Bandai Mountains we see Aizy Wakamatsu City or AW City as I will call it. This town is noted for a ghost infested castle called Tsuruga Castle. The Livemen decide to vacation there because.... We see a boy named Kouji being bullied by a bunch of kids I assume are playing pirates who make fun of him for thinking ghosts are in it. A gong suddenly bangs and a figure in a mask appears from a graveyard that just happens to be one of the bullies. Apparently this makes him wet himself and the Livemen tell them to screw off. Kouji runs away from them, soon stopping at a bridge and trying to ignore the torment the kids left him. He runs toward Tsuruga Castle, unaware a brain beast is watching him- why was there a random shot of a jet flying by? The Livemen are briefly nabbed by brain beasts that disappear. They reappear, revealing to be dead brain beasts they fought. Kemp wants to know how this is possible with Bias mentioning that Bon is the buddhist holiday of honoring the dead. Butchu has no idea what this means and Bias says he will bring back some dead brain beasts using a new one named Reid Zuno who is chanting for their return via a bead necklace and a giant obsidian ball. The Livemen heart Ashura laughing as he reveals their plan and sends out the Cyber Bunshin. Fighting ensues and the dead brain beasts prevent them from transforming. Ashura boasts about them being defeated as the ghost brain beasts appear and disappear. Meanwhile, Kouji explores the dark interior of Tsuruga Castle. He accidentally knocks over Reid Zuno in another room due to bats startling him, causing the dead brain beasts to disappear. Reid Zuno chases him until the Livemen show up. Once the Livemen transform they get beaten up and are entrapped by electric wires briefly. For some reason it cuts to the Livemen talking to Kouji trying to cheer him up- CAN TOEI NOT MAKE PROPER TRANSITIONS!? They do it plenty of times! GAH! Reid Zuno goes back to dead summoning and Kouji becomes very fearful. Lion tries giving him words of bravery when a ghost brain beast takes the boy away from a wall.

At Sohara Lake, Kouji is taken to Ashura on a boat. The Livemen show up on a speed boat and Ashura comments on them falling for his trap. Dolphin is thrown overboard followed by Falcon. I just noticed the speed boat is named Space Shuttle (the hell?). He fights a brain beast and Kouji remembers what he said so the boy punches a brain beast and jumps into the Space Shuttle. Apparently the boat has a shuttle-like stern. Ashura throws a fit and Reid Zuno keeps summoning. Ashura leads the ghost brain beasts ashore to fight Falcon and Dolphin. Colon tells Lion to hurry up while Reid Zuno keeps up the summoning. Lion and Kouji show up just as the rest of the brain beasts are revived, the former transforms, but is quickly over powered. Lion tells Kouji to use his live blaster and he does so, landing a hit on Reid Zuno and the obsidian ball which returns the ghosts to the afterlife. Lion gives Kouji a manly hand grip and Reid Zuno appears at the shore to turn giant sized, Ashura explains it was due to spirit energy. I have to admit, I like how they bothered to explain this. Lion teleports to his teammates while Falcon summons Machine Buffalo and JF, AD, and LL merge to form LR. Reid Zuno teleports around before getting thrown by LR. Before long LR whips out the SB Sword and destroys him via the Crash. The episode ends with Kouji finding a copper amulet in the castle and showing it to the Livemen just as a cicada rattles on a nearby try. Next episode shows bugs growing human sized.

Reid Zuno: Powers include dead revival, face energy blasts, electrical wire summoning, a right hand energy beam, absorbing spirit energy to turn giant sized, and teleportation

Episode 26:

At AW City Kouji shows the Livemen around town after the events of last episode. Some talking about the town's history occurs before a weird blinking light shows itself. Kouji says he knows where it came from and will lead them because he is brave now. Cut to a cave where Hikarid Zuno absorbing magma under orders of Mazenda to form Giga super energy. A ball of energy turns into what I assume is a giant pearl and Bias laughs as his plan is slowly going forward. After that we see a girl playing with flying bugs in a field. She is impressed by the amount of insects in one place and spots a horned beetle before getting attacked by a human sized one. The Livemen and Kouji hears her and rush over. The girl, Yukari, tells them about the horn beetle and only find the regular one. Yukari runs off unaware it is hiding in a bush. Kouji mentions her being a bug lover and we see a flashback of them playing with a ladybug. Once Kouji mentions what hotel she is staying in because she lives in Tokyo, we see Yukari drinking water before the giant horn beetle jumps through the window. The Livemen show up and the men cover her escape. Yup, try wrestling with what is considered one of the strongest animals on the planet, that totally works! After the beetle just walks off we see a giant cicade which annoys everyone nearby and even Kemp. Dolphin thinks the giant bugs are related to the blinking light from earlier. Kemp runs into the cave and tells Mazenda the Livemen are nearby and that the Giga super energy is making the bugs grow. Jinmers are sent out to defend the surroundings. Yukari runs away with her stuff which makes Kouji sad. He tells this to the Livemen who think it must be a misunderstanding with the insects.... I just.... Ugh.

A giant butterfly emits pollen which makes her fall down. The Livemen show up trying to convince her they are not trying to hurt her. Colon tells them via live braces what is going on and noticed that the insects are dying because they turned large against their will, just like Gon in episode 7. Yukari starts crying at what is going on (who can blame her?) and Dolphin says this isn't nature's fault and you get the idea. She then mentions they risk their lives to warn of the dangers in changes of nature and Yukari says she is sorry for not getting what they were saying. Eh, they at least tried to make it touching. The light flashes again coming from Bandai Mountain and jinmers start gunning down the Livemen. They find Hikarid Zuno and Mazenda only to be attacked with a Giga energy ball, crippling them. Mazenda gives away their plan to the Livemen and Kemp laughs as Dolphin tries explaining them hurting nature. The giant beetle from earlier shows up near the kids, jumps forward, and takes a shot from Hikarid Zuno. That poor bug. The Livemen transform, dodge Hikarid Zuno's scalp beam, and proceed to take out the jinmers before using the Triple Bazooka followed by the BB. Gush shows up to revive Hikarid Zuno as a giant and Falcon summons LR. The giants fight, Hikarid Zuno actually landing a couple hits before getting punched. Shortly into the fight he gets stunned by the Live Robo Beam followed by the SB Sword which used the Crash to blow him up. Yukari mentions how the beetle was trying to save them from the danger before heading to the trains station to say goodbye to the Livemen. The episode ends with the trio waving goodbye to the kids as their train takes off. Next episode shows a guy with sunglasses being nabbed with Dolphin.

Hikarid Zuno: Powers include magma absorption, giga super energy balls from the left arm, and a giga energy beam from the scalp

Episode 27:

On Brain Base the villains cannot locate Bias anywhere in the throne room. Ashura wonders if he is doing the Giga plan when a message is given from the computer. Gildos Seijin reads it as their next orders while Bias is in what looks like a giant hanger. Fissures occur around Japan and Gran Tortoise records the earthquake, Falcon and Colon noting that it isn't normal. Whatever is causing it is heading for Tokyo. The Livemen head to the countryside for no reason and are met by a brain beast named Jishind Zuno. He says he is following the orders of Bias before using his hands to cause another quake, causing the Livemen to fall off a cliff. They are quickly beaten up by Jishind Zuno when some guy wearing sunglasses in a jeep passes by looking at the fight. Gildos Seijin and Butchi show up to help him escape so th Giga plan can continue. Jeep guy drives towad the aliens and rams them. He carried Dolphin onto it and Falcon notes he was her father. Dolphin's dad says he is helping her fight Volt quicker to save the world. He chases down Jishind Zuno while claiming he is a user of Baten style arching of Higo; also his first name is Misaki. Insert a speech about punishing evil here with Dolphin barely able to steer while he falls off. The jeep barely prevents crashing into a bus of preschoolers and Jishind Zuno boards it. Dolphin pursues and jumps on top of the bus after Jishind Zuno fires a drill missile at the jeep. Misaki tries pursuing on foot, using the landscape as a short cut. He stops the bus, but the aliens manage to grab him and beat Dolphin up. Falcon and Lion show up, but the aliens say not to pursue or they will be killed. Apparently you can tie up two people with rope in the course of seconds because Toei editing. An earthquake occurs despite Jishind Zuno not doing it and we see Bias seeing a giant robot becoming active.

Dolphin scolds her dad for interfering. All this while Butchi scares the kids. The bus turns a bunch of pictures fall out of Misaki's pocket, specifically suitable husbands for Dolphin once Volt is done for- WHY WAS HE CARRYING THOSE AROUND!? He says he wants to make it up to her and asks for forgiveness. We get a flashback of her as a kid as her father teachers her archery on a boat in a lake, using good accuracy. Dolphin starts feeling dad for her dad becoming old. Dolphin says Falcon and Lion cut ties to their family while she uses a lighter to burn her ropes. Butchi smells it, but Dolphin runs into them, forcing all three villains out of the bus. Misaki notices that everyone onboard was a jinmer in disguise and Misaki noticed.... Somehow. The guys show upm allowing the trio to transform and slaughter jinmers- where did Dolphin get a sword? Misaki notices her archery is the same as his. Once Gildos Seijin and Butchi are kicked, she fires an arrow into Jishind Zuno and the BB is used on him. Gush shows up to use the Giga Phantom and Falcon brings in Machine Buffalo- notable AD is sent out before JF and LL, more or less proving my theory the Livemen can teleport. Also we get a new track playing in the background. Jishind Zuno uses his weapons and actually seems like a decent match for LR until it pile drivers him before using the SB Sword to use the Crash to end him. The episode ends with Misaki allowing Dolphin to allow her to marry whoever she wants as she is married to nature. He takes his leave and the narrator tells us Dolphin has his skills. The episode ends with Bias saying his Giga Plan is complete. Next episode shows a giant robot named Giga Volt and a machine called Bison Liner.

Jishind Zuno: Powers include vibration hands that cause earthquakes and twin head drill missiles

Episode 28:

The Livemen run around in a volcanic region when they hear something deep underground. A mud slip occurs which buries them for a few seconds. Eventually a colossal figure emerges from the ground and Dolphin wonders if it is the Giga plan. The robotic figure is revealed by Kemp as Giga Volt which he is the assigned pilot of. He proclaims that he shall conquer the world as Giga Volt marches forward, kicking a random cliff. Falcon calls in LR and the villains watch aboad Brain Base while Bias returns via a fighter. The titans clash while Mazenda asks why he is the pilot. Apparently Kemp completed his homework first. Giga Volt's armor is so strong LR's punches have no affect on it because Giga metal. The Live Cannon also fails as Kemp says they will end today. The SB Sword is brought out to use the Crash, but Giga Volt's trident stops this and uses a chain to flip it around. The Livemen head out where Ashura faces them and uses his Cyber Bunshin on them. The ground shakes and both Falcon and Kemp wonder what is heading toward the Livemen. Apparently it is a giant car which makes even Ashura startled. The vehicle rams into a cliff and causes a fissure that traps Giga Volt for a bit before firing a pair of laser cannons at it. The bull-like car then parks near the trio and uses a tractor beam from its top to let them in.

The vehicle runs off while the Livemen meet the pilot. Apparently this vehicle is called the Bison Liner who wants to know if it impressed them. The pilot says he is the vehicle's metal and knows about Volt. Speaking of whom, volt fighters attack only for bison beams to shoot them down. The pilot is injured and the fighters fly off for no reason. Once Bison Liner, or BL as I will call it from now on, is stopped the Livemen try talking to him and he wakes up in a fit. Colon tells them via live brace that LR is being taken away. The pilot of BL tells them to stop and Dolphin tells him to stop as they head off. The pilot calls them ungrateful and dumb. Cut to Giga Volt throwing LR around- why is the pilot NOW chasing them? Also, the volt fighters return to attack, forcing them to hide in a cave. Dolphin tells the pilot of their dead friends from the first episode complete with a clip of Kemp shooting them. LR means so much to them because it represents their vow to avenge them. The trio runs out only to be encountered by Mazenda and some jinmers. Ashura shows up with his minions while Giga Volt keeps throwing LR around before suspending it in a floating metal ring. The villains surround the trio, but BL shows up to attack them. Kemp is annoyed and fires back at it, sending BL off a cliff which only makes it park. The pilot runs at Giga Volt saying he needs to avenge his younger brother. Next episode shows the introduction of Sai Fire and another pilot.

Giga Volt: Powers include giga metal armor, two torso beams, a trident with a chain and a laser gun in the butt, and an energy draining ring called the aerial imprisonment

Rumors hint at Shout Factory licensing Dairanger and Kakuranger! To kill time until some sort of confirmation here is part 5!

Episode 29:

After a recap of last episode, Giga Volt turns his attention to the humans via torso beams. The pilot is injured and reveals Takuji was his younger brother, shocking the trio. Giga Volt starts marching and lands a direct his which SOMEHOW DOES NOT EVEN SINGE THEIR CLOTHES! Suddenly, a horn travels underground and knocks Giga Volt over. It raises and the pilot calls it Sai Fire. The pilot tells them to run and Ashura comments about another weirdo showing up. Bias demands that the new enemies be tracked down. Sai Fire, or SF as I will call it, parks and the pilot of that gets out. BL's pilot scolds SF's pilot for being late and he explains he could not drive it well. BL apparently will not move now since the circuits are fried including the core. The SF pilot runs out saying he wanted to avenge his sister who Dolphon asks is Mari and he confirms it. Falcon asks how they came across these machines and apparently Takuji had construction plans for these vehicles. Dolphin now remembers their time in the computer lab. Insert a flashback of their plans on their computers here. Falcon suggests using Livecougar's core which was also based on Takuji's designs. Colon shows up with it and gives them the core and introduces herself to the pilots before they thank her. A random electric blast busts the core and Kemp reveals to be the culprit while saying he killed their siblings and will not forgive them for interference. Kemp turns into his beastial form and attacks with the trio transforming to fight. Jinmers show up just as Colon tries to hold the pilots back due to their anger, but fails.

The pilots throw a fit at BL not working and not being able to avenge their siblings. SF's pilot starts crying and BL's pilot tells him to shut it. Colon, injured, proposes using her core since she uses the same energy supply. They hook her up to BL which shocks her, but she says to keep going. Slowly yet surely the vehicle begins to power up and both BL and SF take off. Volt fighters show up, BL drives off a cliff followed by SF, they both almost hot one another. Kemp has Giga Volt aim for them, but they retaliate. Also they reveal they have a gattai system as well, turning into Live Boxer. Man the width of that thing between model and suit is inconsistent. Anyway, Live Boxer, or LB as I will call it from now on, squares off to fight Giga Volt only to get knocked back. Colon is nearly unhooked while Giga Volt chest beam spams. This causes her to nearly fry her circuits which causes a slow power loss. The two try hooking her up only to get shocked. Colon says they must set it at maximum power as she is willing to die to fight Volt. LB boxes Giga Volt hard enough to ram it into LR, causing the floating ring to explode. The Livemen run to it while Gig Volt is trapped in its own ring SOMEHOW. LR holds up LB and contacts the pilots. Colon is revealed to be okay and the two machines just.... WALK OFF? The episode ends with Giga Volt doing a surge on its ring. Next episode shows Giga Volt rampaging and two new Livemen.

Episode 30:

After a recap of last episode, we see Colon being laid down on a bed on Gran Tortoise. The pilots wonder how they will avenge their siblings. Cut to Giga Volt trying to bust out, Bias fires a laser from his ring called the Giga Field which breaks the ring. Ashura tells Kemp he is piloting Giga Volt now and proceeds to fly into Tokyo with it. The Livemen find out about this. The pilots panic and Dolphin prevents them from taking Colon. The pilots bring up the point of having no other choice. Falcon says they should work together, but the two head off in LR to confront Giga Volt. With little effort Ashura beats them when the trio gets in and puts up a proper fight.... Until the SB Sword breaks. However, the Giga super energy escapes and powers down, Bias stating it is almost dead. LR gets a code in its cockpit, a bar code to be exact, and Falcon remembers it is from Academia Island. There it looks like *gasp* rubble! STOP BEING INCONSISTENT! The five find an active super computer related to that space craft that was shot down in the first episode. Dolphin thinks it activated from the Giga super energy being releases. Ashura appears revealing the computer was telling them to keep them away and sends out the Cyber Bunshin followed by the Livemen transforming. The pilots take the core and run to the shore where Mazenda waits for them. The Livemen defend them before they turn into balls of light. So THAT is how they move fast! They take cover near a cliff and Falcon wants all of them to work together. The two pilots eventually give in.

At Gran Tortoise the core is analyzed and Dolphin finds out on the computer LB can combine with LR. An alarm goes off, indicating an intruder. It turns out to be a random diver named professor Dorothy that constructed BL and SF with the two. Giga Volt is rampaging through Tokyo and Falcon touches the left wrists of the pilots which forms energy which turns into live braces. The five of them run out and encounter Kemp with a squad of jinmers. The five of them transform and the two new Livemen are revealed to be Bison and Sai as they give their intros and colorful smoke explosions appear behind them. The jinmers get the smack down and once Giga Volt shows up Falcon summons LR while Bison summons LB. Both jump at Giga Volt with flying punches. LB then breaks up and combines onto LR to form Super LR. Ashura is surprised and its beams fail to stop it. The Super Big Burst is executed which is a fire ball from the lion head's mouth, Ashura teleports out, and Giga Volt explodes. Bias comments about the word defeat not being in his computer. The episode ends with the old and new Livemen promising to save the lives on Earth while looking at the sunset, closing with the whole "together we are invincible" shtick. Next episode shows Sai being pregnant with a brain beast.

Episode 31:

Bias is ashamed by Giga Volt going down, but says they must continue. Gush shows the underlings a point system, Butchi being angry he got the lowest grade. He and Gildos Seijin offer to do the next assignment. Cut to Tokyo at night where Sai rides around on his bike like a maniac when a brain beast hits him with a beam. Dolphin and Lion fight whatever came out of the bushes. Gilod Seijin and Butchy attack and note what is happening to Sai. His abdomen expands and Gildos Seijin says the brain beast, Vegad Zuno, is based on an animal from planet Vega and has planeted a seed in Sai's body. At Gran Tortoise they analyze the life form growing inside of Sai who thinks it is a baby. He begins to panic and Falcon smacks him. Bison says this is horrible while Bias increases the points of the aliens which makes Mazenda jealous and Ashura worried since he is now at the bottom. The next day on an ambulance, Sai is taken to a hospital when the mini brain beast says not to kill him. Volt attacks them with a swarm of jinmers and Falcon transforms to fend them off. The ambulance continues to drive forward until Gildos Seijin throws a pair of energy rings at the tires. Vegad Zuno comments about them trying to abort his child, making Sai run off while the others transform to over him. At the city he is surrounded by people that take interest in his condition. Sai falls down stairs and the mini brain beast thinks he is his mother and even does the "you don't love me" shtick. Sai is convinced he should give birth to it and Falcon calls him out on it, but eh doesn't care.

The little brain beast, Vega Baby, emerges from the abdomen via turning into energy. Vegad Zuno tells it to kill Sai who is frightened as well as everyone else seeing him. Vega Baby is sad he looks different and Vegad Zuno wonders what the hell. Sai is blasted with bolts while Vegad Zuno carries Vega Baby off. Gildos Seijin suggests ending its life while it screams for its mom. Sai goes on about taking care of his kid and Falcon mentions that they must protect all life. The Livemen show up and Vega Baby runs to Sai. Vegad Zuno fires a pair of what I assume are tusks and the others transform to fight. Sai takes Vega Baby away from the area and tries singing a lullaby which makes it cry before dying. Sai weeps while continuing the song. Gildos Seijin and Butchy show upto be jerks and Sai transforms, joining the others for posing and colored explosions on a hill. Once the jinmers are taken out, attention is directed at Vegad Zuno, Sai failing at headbutting him. Also this proved Livemen can levitate. The BB destroys Vegad Zuno only for Gush to revive him via Giga Phantom, forcing BL and SF to be summoned so LB can be used. Vegad Zuno wastes no time arsenal spamming, but a punch barrage called the Piston Punch and an electric charged finisher called the Miracle Big Blow ends him. The episode ends with the Livemen at Vega Baby's grave with Sai saying he learned about maternal values. Next episode shows Kemp attacking a preschool teacher.

Vegad Zuno: Powers include a seed beam from the mouth, high jumping, mouth energy bolts, and twin launchable tusks

Episode 32:

LR has maintanence done to it, specifically powering up the SB Sword. During this a preschool teacher crosses a road with Falcon noticing one of the assistants is a girl he knows named Mai. Later we see them talking about how great Academia Island was and that she was Kemp's former fiance. Mai then brings up how she used to bring roses to her mom while in the hospital, one batch being made by Kemp. Ever since then she was grateful to Kemp and she thins he died four years ago. Cut to Brain Base where a brain beast based on Kemp named Goad Zuno is created to cause havoc and power gim up due to having a rare blood type. At a play ground- WHAT THE HELL!? Goad Zuno just- WHAT!? He launched suction cups on the butts of two random boys to collect their blood, that was just dumb and horrid! EWE! The Livemen rush to the playground and begin fighting. Jinmers show up only to be beaten down hard. Goad Zuno stops after absorbing Mai's blood and Kemp yells at him before using a beam from his right wrist. The Flashmen are manhandled before he takes off. Mai is heartbroken that Kemp is alive being evil. At Brain Base Kemp discovers Mai has his blood type which is why Goad Zuno stopped. He confronts Mai literally seconds later who runs to him only to be knocked out by sleep gas. Falcon shows up to save her and tell Kemp he is going too far with what he is doing. Insert a random flashback of both of them in a chemistry accident and him needing blood. Mai apparently did a transfer in the past and he never knew it until now. Falcon goes on about the good he did and Kemp replies that he was not seen as a genius then. Two proceed to fist fight before Kemp runs off.

The other docs are amused at Kemp being weak as he starts to weaken from a loss of blood. Come now Kemp, I'm sure Khorne has some! At Gran Tortoise Dolphin comments about how horriblee Kemp is while Mai is easvesdropping. Colon receives word he will drain the blood of children if Mai does not surrender. She somehow heads out and meets up with Kemp and Goad Zuno on a shore. Kemp then smashes a bottle she carried around containing one of his roses. The Livemen arrive to fight back and Kemp promptly throws a fit while senidng in the mooks. The Livemen transform and take out the jimers while Falcon duels with Kemp as the ending theme plays. Soon the attacks concentrate on Goad Zuno who Falcon stuns before they send out the BB to blow him up. Gush Giga Phantom's him and Falcon summons Machien Buffalo so JF, AD, and LL can form LR. Where Bison and Sai are is anyone's guess. LR throws Goad Zuno before landing a flying punch followed by the SB Sword being charged with energy in a new attack called the Strong Crash Down or the Down as I will call it, ending him. Kemp vows to beat them. The episode ends with the Livemen being sad for Mai as she continues working with preschool kids. Next episode shows a boy playing with a robot.

Goad Zuno: Powers include two blood draining suction cups from the right shoulder, a right arm blade, eye electric bolts, and high jumping

Episode 33:

At some rural area we see two kids talking to each other, a boy giving a girl a flower before her family moves to another town. Bison happens to show up and offers the boy a ride following her friend. He notices him crying so they stop at a river. The boy, Kazou, reveals that was his last friend, now he is a lone. He wishes to have his own robot to be his friend forever. Bison thinks of Colon and gets an idea. Cut to Gran Tortoise where Bison proposes to make a robot and Dolphin notes how difficult that would be not counting their fight with Volt. At the countryside Kazou walks around a hillside when he hears footsteps. Bison, in a robot suit, shows up to greet Kazou. The boy seems to buy it as Bison says he was a robot he made. Kazou names him Techan Robo and they go playing unaware Mazenda is spying on them. At Brain Base Mazenda tells Gush her idea for a new brain beast and he creates one in seconds that resembles the robot suit named Robod Zuno. Meanwhile, Kazou gives Bison his medal which is his prizxed treasure before they go off to have fun like playing baseball. The ball is sent into the woods and Bison gets it only to be attacked by Robod Zuno. Mazenda tells her plan to Bias and he seems to like it for some reason. The other Livemen show up and in disbelief Techan Robo is real. He leads them to a warehouse and shuts the door on them. The Livemen notice a bomb which goes off inside. The Livemen managed to transform in time and Robod Zuno begins attacking. Mazenda tells them Bison is dead before using her own guns to snipe them. Soon the Livemen are forced into a river.

The Livemen wake up and Robod Zuno attacks them with Kazou telling him to stop. Robod Zuno swipes him aside and he gets sad while Bison wakes up, seeing that Kazou's medal protected him from Robod Zuno's knife. Kazou finds Bison and tell him what happened. Bison tells Kazou it is not the real Techan Robo while Robod Zuno has the Livemen cornered. Bison shows up in his Techan Robo costume and challenges Robod Zuno to a fight. Bison is easily beaten up, but fails at surrendering as both proceed to punch one another. Bison's helmet falls off and says sorry to Kazou as he could not build a real robot. Kazou says it is okay as the jinmers show up and the Livemen transform to fight. Bison duels with Robod Zuno to stun him long enough for him to blow up via the BB. Gush shows up to revive him as a giant and Bison and Sai call for BL and SF to become LB. Naturally Robod Zuno gets boxed before LB gets some missiles at it. Falcon calls in LR and they decide to form Super LR.... Seriously? Well the Super Big Burst blows Robod Zuno to pieces so it works out either way. The episode ends with Bison in his robot costume still playing with Kazou as the Livemen cheer them on. Next episode shows a red shoe in a box and Gish with his regular gun again.

Robod Zuno: Powers include a throwing dagger, finger missiles, twin head horns that emit energy bolts, and a torso heat beam

Episode 34:

Lion is excited for something and uses Colon as a mirror before running off. In the distant year of 2003 some woman named Miku opens a box of a red shoe she got when she was lost around Tokyo Tower in 1988. Apparently she met a nice man (it is Lion) that helped her out and she wishes for him to be her husband. Cut to Ashura mentioning that Bias is making a time machine in a time-tunnel. He accidentally drops it and is sent through time into the distant tomorrow of 2003. He encounters Miku on a bike. She asks if he came from October 22 1988 and he replies he came there via time machine. She wants to go back in time and decides to move forward into the tunnel. Ashura is sucked in too as Miku rides through time. After that we see Lion finding a red shoe belonging to Miku who shows up on her bike. Ashura shows up and attacks Lion. Bias calls Ashura a fool for his idiocy and sends Garud Zuno to assassinate the woman from the future. Kemp is sent along to supervise him. Kemp intercepts them and tells Ashura they have to kill Miku. Lion objects to this only to have the tar beaten out of him. The others show up to help him out followed by transforming and fighting. Mazenda wonders if the world will follow into Volt's control as she talks to Kemp before Bias makes himself known saying the time-tunnel will close in two hours. After that Miku thanks Lion for saving her and he promises they will make it out alive. Insert brief dating montage here.

Miku tells Lion she was looking for someone, but it does not matter now since she got to meet him. She gives him a petal of the flower brooch he bought for her. The bike off with him driving until random explosions occur, knocking them off. Mazenda takes Miku hostage and reveals to Lion she is from the future while saying she only has one hour to go home. Kemp attacks Mazenda for disobedience while Miku and the Livemen run off. Miku tells them she did not want to cause trouble while the Livemen point out she should return to her own time. She starts crying and tries to tell Lion she wants to be in the present. He asks how she even got here just as Ashura attacks. The others transform and use their live blasters while Lion drives Miku to the time-tunnel, but Gush attacks them. He sets her shoe on fire and the time-tunnel is about to disappear. The Livemen and Ashura show up, preventing Gush from doing more damage. Miku rides off, yelling goodbye as the energy in the tunnel leaves a heart. Garud Zuno shows up and attacks Lion before he transforms. After Lion uses his bazooka the Livemen bring out the BB to destroy him, but Gush undoes this which forces Falcon to call for LR. Wasting little time LR brings out the SB Sword and destroys Garud Zuno using the Down. That night in the future, Miku returns to her home all mopey while Lion sees her flower brooch. After that we see Lion doing the events in sepia tone. Next episode shows Kemp dueling with Falcon on a rocky shore.

Garud Zuno: Powers include high jumping and palm energy needles

Episode 35:

At Gran Tortoise Falcon feels bummed out it is the 29th of October. He heads out with everyone noting there is something on his mind. We see a flashback of him seeing Kemp talking about achieving dreams and curing disease. That day? Ocotber 29th! So it is the third year anniversary of that. Bison and Sai suddenly hate his guts before we cut to Kemp testing Girud Zuno via target practice against dummies of Falcon. At sunset Falcon looks at seagulls on Academia Island which concerns the others. Bison and Sai throw a fit and decide to find him. The next day Falcon visits the graves of his friends when Kemp shows up- wait, that was FOUR years ago? Kemp says he is continuing his dream of scientific progress. Bison and Sai look at their conversation and Girud Zuno shows up to shoot Falcon. He sends him flying into a shake before blowing it up. Falcon says he will duel him for his dead friends. Bison and Sai kick Girud Zuno and apologize to Falcon. Dolphin and Lion follow so they can transform. Random jinmers appear to make things complicated while Falcon and Kemp sword duel. The battle quickly goes to a rocky shore where Falcon and Kemp are sent into the water. Later, Bias has Girud Zuno fight Falcon while Mazenda and Ashura comment that Kemp is ignored.

Falcon has a flashback of the first episode while Kemp is unconscious, saying he is hopeless and tries to strangle him. However, he realizes he cannot do that to a helpless person. Kemp wakes up and asks why with Falcon revealing he wants to beat him in a fair fight. Fighting continues in the woods with Girud Zuno watching before firing. Mazenda shows up saying they have to slay Falcon who comments that Bias only sees Kemp as a tool before being blasted. Kemp says he will be the one to kill him while the others meet up trying to find him. Apparently he is at an island ten kilometers away from Academia Island. That must be a strong current. Kemp and Girud Zuno bicker about who will kill Falcon when AD shows up with Dolphin and Lion coming out to save him. No idea how Bison and Sai got there- oh yeah, energy ball morphing! Fighting occurs once he transforms and duel continues. Both land blows on one another. Eventually Falcon wins and Kemp is taken away to Brain Base via tractor beam. Girud Zuno is stunned by Dolphin and Lion so the BB can take him out. Gush uses the Giga Phantom for giant revival, Bison and Sai summon their vehicles, and LB is formed and ready for combat. I like how Colon said the island is uninhabited and there is a transformer. LB boxes Girud Zuno who counterattacks with his little machine gun on his laser cannon arm. Well it is thinking ahead and it is explosive, so much so that Falcon calls in LR so Super LR can be used (how did the trio get into the cockpit- oh yeah, energy ball forms). Girud Zuno gets punched down before the fight ends with the Down. At Brain Base Bias says it was painful to watch Kemp lose to the point of thinking of punishing him with death. Kemp begs for mercy and Bias tells him to fight and that he will not stop until either him or Falcon perishes. Speaking of whom, Falcom claims he will entomb Kemp during the sunset with his teammates watching. Next episode shows Sai being attacked by rugby players.

Girud Zuno: Powers include a right arm blade, a left arm laser gun with an explosive machine gun attached, and high jumping
=================================================
So far I like the new mechanical additions and the episodes involving Giga Volt, but the positives end there. Bison and Sai I have nothing against, the former is basically brash and strong while the latter is kind and I will assume the smart guy- no, that is Dolphin. The issue? Falcon and Lion already act like Bison, so now we have three hotheads! At least they are not bickering. The villains have been reduced to jokes using any random evil plot instead of the specific types of warfare I mentioned. Can anyone be consistent!? Bias I will reserve proper judgment on until the end like I said before. Then there are Gildos Seijin and Butchi, both had decent introduction episodes, but after that? Nothing! They do next to nothing most of the series despite having actual superiority physically and technologically to the docs! Then there is the infamous abortion episode, I heard of this long before I got into or even cared much about tokusatsu outside of Ultraman. This episode was basically the "hey look! super sentai does themes and maturity and adult content better than Power Rangers!" evidence I saw flying around. No folks, it isn't! You'd be amazed how overly kid friendly sentai gets! I actually saw it from the beginning! That episode had to have been forced anti-abortion propaganda, which is what I thought at first. Then the second time traveling episode hit and I came to the realization that they must have been throwing every plotline out there that they could think of. The episodes that actually have serious plot moments are surprisingly good, but when they go to filler, holy hell do they drop the ball. Part of me believes this was supposed to be a one course show, but they needed to make it four times longer so they just accepted any idea that popped into their heads. Plus you have things "this is an uninhabited island, just ignore the transformer in the foreground!" Did nobody bother to PICK THE MODEL UP AND SET IT ASIDE OR AT LEAST HAVE THE CAMERA AVOID IT!? GAH! It screams lazy and I know a lot of work is done into making these! Worst sentai of the showa era? Depends how it ends, it might even be the worst tokusatsu of the era.

Obama drinks beer for breakfast at the G-7 Summit in Germany! I could use some of that as we go into the penultimate part called part 6!

Episode 36:

High school boys play rugby while the Livemen watch. Sai comments that he was an athlete back in his day and starts giving players advice. The team notes it has been a while since they saw him when a guy in a tractor starts throwing glass bottles at them. Sai asks why this guy, Minoru, is doing this when one player reminds him he injured his leg a while back and has been like that ever since. After that Minoru walks around when Sai tries to find him. We get a flashback of Minoru's leg getting twisted which prevents him from playing ever again- BONES TAKE A FEW MONTHS TO HEAL, HOW THE HELL IS THAT POSSIBLE? You should be able to play again in a year! He pushes him out of the way before cutting to the team changing in the locker rooms. They find out they got new uniforms when Yoroid Zuno busts down the wall and uses an eye beam to turn their jerseys into armor that mutates them. Mazenda finds them cute. During this, Minoru (without his cast) polishes a rugby ball and Sai calls him out. He asks why Minoru said he is pretending to be hurt and he reveals it was due to fear. Sai is suddenly attacked by Yoroid Zuno and transforms followed by random jinmers being beaten up. The rugby team appears with Mazenda saying they are now the walking dead that will kill him. The others show uo to help, but Sai tells them not to hurt them. They aim for Yoroid Zuno which does little to stop him. The rugby team rams into the Livemen. Later on Gran Tortoise Falcon has Colon analyze their formation, soon suggesting they concentrate in one area. At Brain Base Bias commends Mazenda for her work since the Livemen won't hurt innocent people. Meanwhile, Colon decides to make a bomb using energy from the reactor of Gran Tortoise. Sai remembers a kick he did that won him a match, but Falcon sees his leg in bad shape and says no.

Sai dodges some falling rocks the others send down on him, eventually hurting him. He says it is just a scratch when Minoru runs over asking if he should do this. Sai says he wants to run away, but he knows he has to save everyone when Mazenda, Yoroid Zuno, and jinmers show up to fight. Minoru says he is not responsible for this when Clon shows up in Livecougar and throws Sai the bomb which looks like a rugby ball. During the assault the possessed rugby players attack and Minoru decides to help him via going through their defense lines complete with rugby flashbacks. Sai kicks it at Yoroid Zuno's head which turns the team back to normal in their underpants. The Livemen then transform and waste no time assaulting Yoroid Zuno followed by finishing him with the BB. Gush arrives to Giga Phantom him while BL and SF are summoned to form LB. Yoroid Zuno keeps energy blasts spamming and even counters LB by throwing it. However, LB strikes back with more punching before ending him for good via the Blow. Later we see the rugby team back to normal including Minoru. The episode ends with Sai falling down after failing to kick the rugby ball. Next episode shows fighting underwater and Kemp in black,

Yoroid Zuno: Powers include mouth electric blasts, puppet armor spawning, high jumping, throwing knife bombs, and energy ball throwing

Episode 37:

Bias announces the grades of his minions, Kemp having the lowest. He complains and Bias shocks him. He then goes on about Kemp not risking his life and giving his all- BULL CRAP YES HE DID! LIES! Kemp says he is trying to become something called a fear beast for more power. Cut to Gran Tortoise where Dolphin notices the fish acting zippy. The Livemen investigate, noting they are dying off. A giant clam is spotted with Kemp inside of it in a bubble. He goes through an embryonic process to reconstruct himself. Dolphin is attacked by- Wait, why did GUIS translate his name as Shark Brain? *goes to the PR wiki* apparently -d Zuno translates to brain and nobody told me! Samed Zuno throws her around, making her lose her tank. Dolphin tries fighting back with a knife, but gets thrown into the clam with Kemp. Dolphin and Kemp rise to the surface, the latter having no memory before he turned sixteen (how did she come to that conclusion. Later we see the Livemen observing him doing handstands and in a mindset before he went to Academia Island. Dolphin sees this as a chance to have him return to his humanity. Also, random flashback of both of them in highschool in a flower field where he discusses the origin of a Mexican flower that came to Japan. Actually, this isn't a flashback, Ashura and Samed Zuno show up wondering what the hell he is doing. The other Livemen show up and Ashura unleashes the Cyber Bunshin. Samed Zuno manages to nearly catch Kemp and launches his jaws at him. Dolphin fights him off, but both soon fall off a cliff while she tries to save Kemp.

Dolphin wakes up on shore and so does Kemp. He still have amnesia and he was worried about his head. He says he won't mind dating her as long as she doesn't interfere with his studies. Dolphin smacks him with the men watching as she mentions his lack of saying thank you. She goes on about pronouncing those words and cries over it. Also, random zoom in on her bleeding at the arm so Kemp can clean her wound. Sad piano music plays while the Livemen like what they see. He sees Dolphin's digital clock which reads 3:50 which was his grade from Bias, causing his memories to flood back. He shoves Dolphin out of the way and stripes before diving back underwater. Ashura stops the Livemen and bothers to explain to them what happened as he dives back into the deep. The Livemen transform and fight while Kemp continues incubating in the clam with Samed Zuno watching and heating it up. The clam rises from the ocean and Kemp has evolved into a fear beast, more powerful than his beauty beast form. He looks like a cross between Nightmare from Soul Caliber 3 and Octalus from Deep Rising. Anyway, Kemp uses energy tentacles, converting into fire, energy bolts from the torso mouth, and laughs about how easily he is beating the Livemen. Samed Zuno attacks, but is quickly beaten up and kicked into the clam before the BB is used on him. Gush is having none of that and uses the Giga Phatnom followed by Falcon summoning LR. Samed Zuno quickly gets tossed around by LR before using his weapons on it. After that Bison summons LB so Super LR can be formed and terminate Samed Zuno via the Burst. The episode ends with Dolphin looking at the ocean distraught and saying sorry to her teammates with Falcon replying it is nobody's fault. Next episode shows Falcon being hunted by an upgraded version of Mazenda.

Samed Zuno: Powers include swimming, high jumping, energy bolts from both mouths and torso eyes, and torso mouth launchable jaws

Episode 38:

Falcon runs fro Mazenda in the rain who fires a laser cannon on him followed by an energy machine gun. He hides behind some barrels, but that doesn't work for long. He eventually gets into a tunnel and into a backroad where Mazenda appears with her new attached weapons. He transforms, but that does littleto help as he notes her amazing modifications. Colon and the others try to respond to him to no avail. After it rains, Mazenda has Falcon cornered and guns him down, notably the scenary not being consistent. He is send down to what I assume is a valley and has to hide in a shack- No, wait, that does not work either. Bias is impressed by Mazenda making Falcon a coward. Bias tells the other villains she is now ninety percent machine because she thinks she can become immortal. There is a Fallout Boy reference in this somewhere. Falcon is soon attacked by a brain beast named Wolfd Zuno that aids Mazenda. More chasing continues, soon Bison and Sai find Falcon and he.... LOCKS THEM IN A CLOSET!? THE HELL!? Wolfd Zuno finds him and the chasing continues while Bison and Sai have no sympathy for him being scared. The chase takes place at a construction site where acrobatics ensue and Mazenda taunts Falcon with laughing. He lands on a dump truck after being shot at while Bison and Sai get out of the closet just as Dolphin and Lion show up. Dolphin notices a piece of paper in Sai's pocket that says YA-12.

Falcon tries catching his breathe on the dump truck while Mazenda sprints at him with enough speed to impress that racing beetle from Donkey Kong 64. Wolfd Zuno throws him off and the others rush to his aid. Eventually Falcon and Mazenda face each other at a cliff when she finds out she is out of ammunition. Falcon says she fell into his trap, he was scared that she would hurt his friend so he made her run out of ammo on purpose. Apparently Wolfd Zuno has spare ammunition on him and the others show up.... Folks, they are clearly shot, in the chest- Now, wait, bullet proof vests, specifically experimental ones called YA-12. You almost made me throw a fit but you didn't! Good job! Mazenda throws a fit about losing ammunition and after Falcon gives a monologue the Livemen transform and fight random jinmers. Mazenda uses a new chain called the Mazenda Chain to throw Dolphin around while Falcona nd Lion shoot at Wolfd Zuno. The Triple Bazooka stuns him long enough for them to whip out the BB. Gush does giant revival from the top of the cliff and Falcon summons Machine Buffalo so JF, AD, and LL can become LR. Wolfd Zuno goes all out, but LR holds him back. This is probably the best normal fight of the series. One Live Robo Beam stunning later and the SB Sword is brought out to execute the Down to blow him to pieces. The episode ends with the Livemen concerned that now that Mazenda is powered up what awaits them will be terrifying as we see Mazenda launch a rocket from her back at them. Next episode shows jinmers digging and an alien Lion tries helping.

Wolfd Zuno: Powers include wall crawling, mouth energy blasts, and high jumping

Episode 39:

A meteor makes its way to Earth, crashing in Japan. Gildos Seijin and Butchi head out to the crash site with jinmers, the latter saying it is from planet M12 which has very hard properties upon aging. The meteor is brought back to Brain Base and Gush makes a brain beast named Insekid Zuno. Kemp finds it dumb while Gildos Seijin explains it has a bunch of radiation in addition to being hard which is plenty to deal with the Livemen. A jinmer gets a clean punch-through before the rest arm melted with fire balls. Cut to Lion on his motomachine when he spots a flying saucer. He sees an alien come out of it and asks who he is, but it runs off. Colon tells the others who just think it is a dream or Volt. The alien outruns Lion when Gildos Seijin and Butchi show up. A fissure occurs and Insekid Zuno rises from it to attack Lion. The alien spots this and rushes over just as jinmers attack Lion. Butchi tells him to give up, but the others hsow up to help. After Lion transforms fighting occurs, taking out jinmers left and right. Insekid Zuno's armor prevents him from being hurt with Butchi laughing at them. Lion tries getting in close, but he gets burned on contact. The alien summons its UFO and tries getting close, soon getting hit by Insekid Zuno's fire balls. Everyone somehow gets lost with Lion somehow at a river when he spots the alien wounded. His leg is hurt and Lion says thank you. The alien says he is Abe from planet Doha before jinmers show up to attack. Lion manages to take them out and they high tail it to a cave. Abe says Doha was destroyed five days ago because it was destiny so they sent rocks of their home world as a sign of peace and proof they existed. I know, weird. Abe is bummed it is making people suffer and begs to be helped before falling over.

At Gran Tortoise Abe is placed in a bed whil the Livemen lament about not being able to beat Insekid Zuno. Lion feels bad and wants to achieve Abe's wish. He gets the idea of freezing him at one point. At a quarry the Livemen show up to fight Volt. Abe watches nearby as they transform with Lion armed with freezing ammunition in his bazooka. This hurts Insekid Zuno and the Livemen assault him with their weapons. However, Insekid Zuno comes out without a scratch and continues fire ball spamming. Abe rushes out and fires a beam from his forehead which blows up the meteor from inside the abdomen, causing Insekid Zuno to bleed. Abe says he nullified the meteor's power before dissipating. The BB is brought out and aims for the wound. Gush undoes this and BL and SF are summoned to become LB. The giants fight each other, LB easily boxing down Insekid Zuno until the fight ends with the Blow. I guess he really wasn't invulnerable after all. At the site Lion spots a seed-like stone and decides to bury it just as it rains. The next day that seed begins to grow into a small flower, the Livemen imagining what Abe would have thought of it. Lion comments that Abe's wish has come true as the Livemen decide to plant sticks around the flower for minor defense. Next episode shows a guy with pearl necklaces and Dolphin trying to save a kid.

Insekid Zuno: Powers include reinforced armor, hand atomic fire balls, hand machine guns, and a high body temperature

Episode 40:

For some reason spell check does not acknowledge the word perp, odd.

A bank burglary takes place when the alarm goes off. Two cops chase the perp who runs into Dolphin by accident. He strips down into a new suit and kisses her to fool the cops. He tells her she was just that pretty, especially when angry. He begs her to have a drink with her, but she refuses. He complains about this to a stray cat when a random volt fighter crash lands nearby. That morning the perp and Dolphin examine the wreckage. Another stray named Nora is noticed by the perp when he spots a huge ruby. Mazenda demands they hand the ruby over. He reveals that he is a thief and jinmers are unleashed only for Dolphin to fight them off. The others show up soon after so the thief can run away with Nora. The ruby glows and out of it is Spaced Zuno who thinks the thief is his master. In a panic the thief demands jewels. Cut to Brain Base where Kemp laughs at Mazenda's failure with Ashura following. Bias demands their passion be used to defeat the Livemen. Spaced Zuno robs a jewelry store soon after with the perp being impressed. The Livemen look for him assuming his life is in danger. Spaced Zuno they uses an acid spray to get some gold bars from a car. No, it is not an armored car. Meanwhile, Dolphin finds Nora near her motomachine when she finds the perp's hide out. The perp sends him back into the ruby followed by Dolphin tryinng to nab him. She fails and says Volt just wants to conquer Earth. After that he explains he just wants to be rich before looking for Nora. Falcon and Lion meet him outside and he starts flipping out. When Bison and Sai try grabbing him, he summons Spaced Zuno to fight them. Falcon and Lion are forced into his torso before teleporting off.

We see the perp at a stand, his name revealed to be Shugo, as he.... Gives a bunch of orphans toys. He tellsa random boy not to steal and Dolphin shows up to call out his hypocrisy. The kids nearly get involved and Shugo reveals he is trying to protect them because he was an orphan once too. Mazenda shows up and holds a kid hostage for the ruby. He gives it to her.... Ans she lets the kid go? That is unexpected. Spaced Zuno gets summoned and Bison and Sai show up once the jinmers do. Falcon and Lion complain about not being able to get out while Spaced Zuno sprays acid around the kids, Dolphin managing to save one at the cost of being burned herself. Shugo is impressed by her heroism and Spaced Zuno throws her. While trying to use the tractor beam again, Dolphin is sucked in, but Shugo sacrificed himself while grabbing Mazenda. She attacks them inside and demands Spaced Zuno let her out which he does long enough for the men to escape. The Livemen transform once Shugo runs for it followed by a weapon assault on Spaced Zuno including the Triple Bazooka before the BB destroys him. Gush appears on top of a train and revived Spaced Zuno as a giant while Falcon summons Machine Buffalo so JF, AD, and LL can become LR. Wasting no time the titans clash and LR proves it has a high resistance to acid AND the Live Shield is used for once! LB is called for so Super LR can be used to end the fight via the Burst. Notably this is used while Spaced Zuno was in the air via jumping, first time a monster fight ended without the monster touching the ground. The episode ends with the Livemen and orphans playing volley ball. Next episode shows a guy in a wheelchair that becomes invisible.

Spaced Zuno: Powers include right arm acid spray, a torso tractor beam, teleportation, right hand energy blasts, and high jumping

Episode 41:

Lion sees some guy in a wheelchair he recognizes as Obler. Apparently his right leg was injured and he wheels away from Lion. Kemp uses Toumeid Zuno to make his clothes invisible. When Lion shows up Oblers starts gaining memories again and Kemp laughs, stating he is his new experiment. Obler turns invisible soon after except for his hat and cast. Cut to Bias throwing a fit at Kemp for not killing Obler, Butchy whispering to Gildos Seijin why only to get called out for it. The other Livemen try to help find Obler around some abandoned warehouses. Bison and Sai hear him sneeze and find him via a blanket being around his body. Kemp and jinmers are spotted during. That morning Obler tries wheeling himself out and Kemp finds him, saying he will end him due to betrayal. Kemp takes a glass shard to cut him before mutating and turning him visible again. Toumeid Zuno shows up to carryout the execution once he is visible again, but Falcon and Lion kick them down. The Livemen assemble and Lion takes Obler away while the others fight. Mazenda and and Ashura show up to cause more trouble, the former gunning Lion down. Dolphin fends them off, allowing Lion to take off only for Butchi to skate toward them. He is trying too hard to be funny. Gildos Seijin soon joins in, but just crashes into Butchi instead. CONSISTENCY PLEASE! The Livemen and Obler hide in the wreckage of what I assume is a shake as the flashback of Obler saving a puppy when he met Lion are shown. Obler feels titanic guilt and cries, but Bison says not to sweat it as everyone can find their human heart no matter the crime. Mazenda finds them while Falcon asks why Bias wants him dead. Dolphin thinks it has to do with memories. Obler says Bias was working on something horrible which catches the interest of Mazenda and Kemp.

In a flashback we see Bias in a room with chaos phantoms he tries to syphon the energy from. Obler apparently saw this and took off. Falcon is convinced that is his secret while Bias demands Kemp and Mazenda slay him. The villains surround the Livemen and attack followed by transforming. Lion makes off with Obler and puts him down at a tree. Bison gets injured and Toumeid Zuno uses his invisibility ray before Lion shows up. Also random comedy with trees becoming invisible until the docs hit them by accident. Lion and Sai throw Toumeid Zuno followed by the Triple Bazooka being used and finishing with the BB. Gush shows up for giant revival while Falcon summons LB and yes you heard that correctly. Toumeid Zuno uses invisibility to outmaneuver LB until LR is called to form Super LR and ends him with the Burst thanks to.... They don't say what type of vision is used. Lion checks on Obler who goes missing. He spots his jacket and a picture of the both of them when they were accepted to Academia Island. Falcon says Obler did not forget about their friendship. Dolphin thinks Bias used to be human. The episode ends with Bias looking at Earth cursing Obler for seeing his Brain Room and suddenly choking before collapsing. Next episode shows Bison controlled by Bias.

Toumeid Zuno: Powers include an invisibility beam from the head, a left arm shield, invisibility, and jumping

Episode 42:

Gush sees Bias collapse who demands he be taken to the Brain Room before anyone gets back. Gush carries him there and opens a secret door so he can walk to it himself. In it he uses the brain-like chaos phantoms to shower him with their energy which restores him to normal. He says that while all twelve of these capsules are around he can harness Giga Brave Waves to make humans obey him and he is missing a chaos phantom. He spawns Bomberd Zuno and tells him to possess a Liveman and destroy Gran Tortoise. That night Bomberd Zuno uses a pin Bias gave him to possess Bison while he was on his bike. Bias tries possessing him saying Bison is now his slave and it works as the pin is in his ear. He contacts the others with Bomberd Zuno noting how effective the Giga Brain Waves are. The next day (seriously?) the Livemen look for Bison while Gildos Seijin and Butchi set off some mines to catch them off guard. They transform and fight jinmers. Butchi and Gildos Seijin team up against Sai, but Dolphin stuns them. Bison shows up to help, the others unaware what is going on. At Gran Tortoise Sai is placed on a bed while Bison is told to prepare death on the fortress. An alarm goes off and Bomberd Zuno tries getting in only for Bison to shut the diving chamber door on him so nobody would act suspicious. Later, Bison shows Bomberd Zuno around where he placed a bomb. Sai wakes up wondering where Bison is and Falcon thinks he is acting strange. He catches him placing bombs and Bison runs for it before pulling out a laser gun. The others hear this somehow.

Falcon is wounded and the others show up with Bison shooting them, Colon noticing a radio wave that is controlling him- BRAIN WAVES ARE NOT RADIO WAVES! Colon is shot multiple times. Falcon and Lion run after him until he reveals a switch that will cause all the bombs to explode at once. They try talking him down just as Dolphin and Sai show up. Falcon brings up Takuji which causes Bison to hesitate. Bias demands he forget everything while Falcon says he was robbed of his brother. The tension goes on for a while until the pin falls out of Bison's ear and he shoots it which causes Bias to scream in pain, somehow causing a power outage on Brain Base which makes the villains wonder where he is. Bias's face appears damaged while the Livemen fight Bomberd Zuno who intends to use himself as a suicide bomber. Lion opens the dive diving chamber and Falcon kicks him there before telling Gran Tortoise to rise and somehow eject him. Gush undoes this and LR is sent out to fight. The two seem evenly matched until LB is called for, allowing Super LR to terminate Bomberd Zuno via the Burst. After that Bison heads to a dock and blames himself for what happened, but Lion tells him not to worry with Dolphin noting it was just another of the many terrible things Volt can do. The episode ends with Bias saying he will find his last chaos phantom to conquer mankind. Why doesn't he horde them to himself? Next episode shows a little girl being taken hostage and Sai fighting.

Bomberd Zuno: Powers include torso bombs, self destruction, stick grenades, and high jumping

Will this end up being my least favorite sentai? Tune in next time for the epic conclusion!

The end of showa and the beginning of heisei! Welcome to part final!

Episode 43:

After a recap of last episode- wait, those are regular brains, not chaos phantoms! The villains wonder what happened to them and he gives them grades instead of answers. Gildos Seijin points out how he looks like a regular human which is pitiful. Wow these guys must be dumb. Anyway, Gildos Seijin spawns a brain beast named Gildd Zuno who is from his home world and wants to slay Sai. Cut to a park where Sai tries helping a boy named Sho and his sister as he has a hard time walking because of crutches. Sai gives words of encouragement when Gildd Zuno shows up. Sai transforms as Gildos Seijin unleashes him. Sai gets tossed around a lot until the fight heads to a construction site with cement tubes. Sai's cutters are accidentally deflected toward a power line which shocks Gildd Zuno and blows him to pieces. Ashura laughs at Butchi for him and Gildos Seijin acting like geniuses. Sai tries helping Sho while Gildos Seijin revives his brain beast with eye lasers. The assault continues with Gildos saying planet Guildos has much better technology and crap. Sai is soon beaten when the others show up, Falcon and Bison having their kicks deflected. Colon drives the Livecougar in and the Live Vulcan blows him up only for Gildos Seijin to revive him. Sho's sister carries him off until Gildos Seijin catches them. He demands Sai fight him one on one and makes off with Sho, shoving his sister down. Sai says he can relate because he had similar injuries as a kid.

Sai shows up at the quarry where Gildos Seijin wants him and Gildd Zuno is sent after him. He uses some energy ram attack blow him up, but Gildos Seijin reveals he can revive him indefinitely. Sai keeps fighting anyway, blowing him to pieces each time from rather simple attacks. The others note this is bad. Sho soon starts running toward Sai who is happy he can walk. The others soon jump in to assault Gildd Zuno, bringing out the BB which destroys him so hard Gildos Seijin cannot revive him. Then his body starts exploding all over, revealing he was a robot. Even Butchi is shocked and Bias smirks. Gildos Seijin questions his existence when Gush uses the Giga Phantom and Falcon summons LB. Furious melee ensues until LR is brought in to form Super LR who throws Gildd Zuno's boomerangs at him and finish him with the Burst. Why not call it a fire ball again. Gildos Seihin questions how he is a robot and not an alien, demanding an answer until he falls off a cliff and explodes. Dolphin says she was impressed by Sai's feelings for Sho. The others theorize that Gildos Seijin was created by Bias to toughen their competition and this brings up whether or not Butchi is an alien. The episode ends with the Livemen scavenging Gilods Seijin's parts after Butchi is crying. Next episode shows Butchi skating and fighting the Livemen while Dolphin uses a keyboard guitar.

Gildd Zuno: Powers include twin boomerangs that can be encased in energy, a tentacle tongue, a mouth energy beam, and high jumping

Episode 44:

After a recap of last episode, Butchi experiments on his own body yo discover he is a robot too and he cries. However, he deludes himself because of his memories of being on Chibiru. Bias reveals he created his memories perfectly, stating that his geniuses from Earth cannot handle real space genius. In other words he exists to increase grades, but Bias reminds him he still works for Volt. I like how Gush casually polishes his gun while Bias uses a remote to make Butchi levitate. After that Butchi takes Bousoud Zuno to skate around Tokyo scaring people and blowing up buildings. Colon informs the Livemen about this who head out with a giant chain to stop them- Oh that doesn't work. Butchi then starts beating the hell out of the Livemen. However, Butchi's tears somehow make him blind and he sends Bousoud Zuno to do his work. Butchi starts breaking to pieces, but random music from a radio neabry calms him down. Insert flashbacks of episode 22 here.... And I just noticed Dolphin has a new outfit she has had for at least a few episodes now. Ashura shows up to attack Butchi because Bias lowered his grade so he runs away with Bousoud Zuno. An oil refinery blows up when he hears Dolphin playing on a keyboard guitar.

She asks Butchi to dance so it will calm him down. She says there is more to life than violence and destruction while Bias lowers his grade to zero. Ashura even brings this up and says he will turn him into scrap. The men show up to fight Ashura so Dolphin can take Butchi to a safe location. Ashura sends out the Cyber Bunshin to make matters complicated. Butchi takes a few hits until Falcon fights them off. Butchi says he cannot continue so Bias uses the remote on him to make his circuits go haywire. Butchi curses Bias and says it was an honor to be with Dolphin before he blows up. Ashura calls him pathetic and Dolphin calls him out on his Darwinism before transforming. The Livemen strike a pose and beat up jinmers with Falcon fighting Ashura. The Cyber Bunshin take on the Livemen, soon winning, but Lion uses his jet-skateboard to knock them out while Dolphin spams arrows on Bousoud Zuno followed by the BB blowing him up. Gush undoes this and BL and SF are summoned to form LB. Bousoud Zuno uses his battering ram only for LB to punch him up before finishing the fight using the Blow. The episode ends with a dream sequence of Dolphin and Butchi dancing on a beach where para sailing is going on until snapping back to reality where the Livemen give heart-filled words about Butchi. Next episode shows the Cyber Bunshin going down and Ashura dueling with Falcon.

Bousoud Zuno: Powers include a torso battering ram and levitation

Episode 45:

Bias tells the docs he knew they were real geniuses- Ashura was artifical are you high!? Speaking of whom, he has the lowest score of the three. Bias tells Ashura to beat it while he asks whether or not Mazenda or Kemp will make his dream come true. Ashura vows to get to a thousand points even if he must conquer the world himself. Cut to a semi truck that hijacks electrical lines. An elevator with Lion and civilians in it goes haywire with Colon saying the electric lines have a virus in them- VIRUSES DO NOT WORK LIKE THAT! The entire country is about to go nuts from the virus and the Livemen head out to an electric company. Lion makes it out into the streets when he notices a capble line which leads him to the semi truck. He peaks ina nd spots Ashura and a brain beast named Hackerd Zuno, the former stating his intellect via absorbing computers and the latter attacking Lion. Hackerd Zuno handles Lion rather well while Ashura tries absorbing more computer information so he can calculate a grand attack. The others show up and Ashura sends out the Cyber Bunshin- oh wow they talk now. Ashura tells them to launch him using an attack called the Ashura Missile which encases him in energy. Once the Livemen are stunned he tells Kemp and Mazenda he will achieve a thousand points with Bias commenting he might pull it off. He then scolds the two for not working on improvement. At Gran Tortoise the Livemen are in disbelief while the coordination computers for trains are under Ashura's control. They head out and cut the hacking cable which angers Ashura. The Cyber Bunshin are sent out once more, the Livemen commenting on how powerful they are.

Lion takes an assault from the Cyber Bunshin which stuns him. Falcon says to leave the rest to him as he states he wants to fight Ashura one on one. Hackerd Zuno and the Cyber Bunshin attack him, but he keeps walking anyway. He walks up to Ashura, blocks his punch, and punches him onto the tracks. Falcon says computers cannot calculate courage- THAT IS REALLY STUPID! Falcon states Ashura relied too much on what was in his head, leaving what was left of Ashura behind. The two duel with the Cyber Bunshin being taken out by Falcon. Ashura takes the truck to a quarry and has Hackerd Zuno determine his grade which has not changed. He is convinced the computer made a mistake so Hackerd Zuno hacks into Brain Base's computers. There they learn about how becoming a true genius requires twelve brains with a thousand IQ points, Bias soon discovering this and choking and deteriorating. He uses his laser ring to blow up Ashura's truck and demands Hackerd Zuno fight the Livemen who just arrived. Falcon says they should use the spark attack his is just turning into energy balls and ramming which stuns Hackerd Zuno long enough for them to use the BB. Gush shows up on a cliff to use the Giga Phantom and Falcon sends in LR for combat. During the fight LB is sent in to help and form Super LR who ends Hackerd Zuno via the Burst after a quick toss around. Bison comments about Ashura being over reliant on computers when his former self as Arashi shows up. Upon discovering this he becomes depressed and curses Bias before fainting. The episode sends with Lion and Sai carrying him off. Next episode shows Arashi fighting a brain beast.

Hackerd Zuno: Powers include a hacking cable, high jumping, antennae electric beams, and arm electric cables

Episode 46:

Arashi tries counting with his fingers, barely able to do so as he recovers in a hospital. The Livemen check up on him while Kemp and Mazenda wonder what Bias is doing. Bias walks in and says that their allies were just pawns to improve them because he expected great things from the beginning. Kemp and Mazenda like hearing this as they see their grades, only 80 points away from a thousand for each of them. Cut to a church where Obler is praying, volt fighters attack Tokyo in stock footage of episode one. Arashi manages to run out of his room waiting for a chance at revenge. He and the heroes soon find flames going in reverse and out of a tunnel is Battled Zuno. He fires his arsenal at them and Kemp appears to reveal he can spawn weapons at will for he is the ultimate brain beast (well, his ultimate brain beast). The assault continues and Kemp insults Ashura while his brain increased and he changes into his monster form. The team get the tar beaten out of them and Kemp deals with Arashi himself complete with insults. Lion jumps forward to save Arashi. After an explosion, Lion finds himself at the church Obler was at and is given some water. He sees Arashi and Lion explains what happened to him as well as Gildos Seijin and Butchi. Volt fighters keep attacking, the church becoming in worse shape over time. Obler warns Lion not to go and wondering how he can fight, bbut Lion says nothing is impossible because the enemy is too smart- GAH THIS IS DUMB!

Lion spots Kemp and says the planet belongs to everyone. Kemp says he is tired of that line and fighting occurs while Obler looks on wishing he could do something. Arashi asks him what four plus eight is since that was the last thing on his mind. After Arashi gets his answer he smiles and says they both lived weird lives. Arashi throws a barrel at Battled Zuno and says he will be the one to end this and show Bias he will not lose. Colon heads out to wake up Falcon and Dolphin while Bison and Sai are hanging in a tree. During this Arashin fights Battled Zuno with a lead pipe, proving ineffective as he gets bombarded. Battled Zuno lands an electric bolt on Arashi and the Livemen show up. Kemp says they earned his respect and he transforms while summoning jinmers. Arashi, still badly hurt, finds a nearby shack where he grabs a bunch of dynamite and rushes toward Battled Zuno, blowing the two up. The Livemen and Obler scream for him and Kemp throws a fit before Gush revives Battled Zuno as a giant. Falcon sends out LB to do combat which quickly fails as it gets taken out rather quickly. Lion tells them they must avenge Arashi so LB goes punch happy before ending the fight using the Blow. The area starts snowing and Dolphin says Arashi was the biggest victim out of anyone. Lion spots a note where he says.... Volt treats children like dogs? How out of nowhere. Sad music plays and Falcon says the real fight is ahead and that they have to win it. Next episode shows a lot of shots of Mazenda and Super LR going down.

Battled Zuno: Powers include a right arm flamethrower, chin and right shoulder toxic gas, eye electric bolts, left palm missiles, weapon copying, and a left arm bazooka

Episode 47:

Bias wonders if the brain he will harvest next will belong to Kemp or Mazenda. He tells both of them to reach a thousand so they can dominate the world. Mazenda says she has a plan and heads to the laboratory. In it she has her brainwaves looked at so she can make a projection of herself. With it she summons ghost brain beasts that destroy Tokyo. LR is sent out to fight them, the Livemen noting them being defeated before. They form the brain beast Akumad Zuno and easily phase LR's attacks. Bias tells Kemp her machines are making her dreams real- oh for the love of pete. Both docs now have the same grade. LR is knocked down and LB flies in with Colon as the pilot to help out and form Super LR. The Burst is used, but Akumad Zuno is barely phased so Bias increases her grade points. Super LR falls over and lets the Livemen out into the rubble. Bias and Gush surround her body with the egotistical scientist having a knife. Obler tries talking to Mazenda to stop and talks about the Brain Room to her. Bias tells Mazenda to defeat Obler and she fires a wrost laser at him. Apparently Obler was scouting geniuses in the past decade and Obler was doing research- HOW DID NOBODY NOTICE THIS!? Mazenda and Akumad Zuno disappear. Noting now, this is the first time in the franchise's history the monster of the week does not perish. Bias is furious at Mazenda for her failure and wonders why she listened yo him. She takes a volt fighter and personally deals with the heroes herself. Obler tries to get her to stop, but it does not work as she keeps firing at them.

Mazenda reaches a thousand points and Kemp wonders how. Bias looks at his knife while Mazenda gets a golden ring around her head briefly. Gush shows up to hold Mazenda at knife point, but Obler stops him long enough for her to get away. Obler then uses his body as a huan shield to block Gush's gun, somehow not falling right away. Mazenda makes a run for it and the team fights Gush. This fails and he pursues her onto a rooftop. Gush easily throws her around with Falcon attempting to delay him, but that barely works. The chase goes to a shore with Gush shooting at her still. Eventually Mazenda reaches a dead end by a cliff. She presses a button on her torso that turns her into a brain into a machine- HOW THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN WORK!? Now she has become a total machine and dares Bias to take her brain only for him to use his laser ring on her. Obler comforts her in her last moments with Mazenda enjoying the scenary around her. Obler cries as she states she cannot revert to her normal self. She tells everyone farewell and falls off the cliff, exploding upon hitting the ground. Obler comments that God didn't forgive her mistakes while Dolphin states she at least admited her mistakes before her end. Kemp sobs over this before laughing like crazy. The episode ends with the narrator asking the question of why is Kemp laughing. Next episode shows humans bowing and Falcon at Brain Base fighting jinmers.

Akumad Zuno: Powers include dividing into four ghosts, a right arm cannon, and intangibility

Episode 48:

Kemp runs away from volt fighters that are shooting at him. The Livemen find this out and think about saving him, but Bison and Sai save it is too late for him. Falcon says his life is still a life and they head out anyway; keep in mind that is from the same character that said HE WANTED TO ENTOMB HIM. Kemp falls off a cliff and grabs a vine. JF attacks the volt fighters while the others help up Kemp. At sunset everything calms down and Kemp thanks Falcon for saving him. Suddenly wires come out of his torso which anchor into their torsos. Kemp laughs at them falling for him. Kemp goes on that he is willing to give Bias his brain to make the greatest genius live on. After he shocks them he retracts his tentacles and is awarded a thousand points. Bias's ship descends and Kemp walks toward it. Gush walks out of it carrying an orb. He puts it over Kemp's head which causes him to scream. The Livemen try to stop this, but he turns into a brain beast named Kyojud Zuno. Falcon says he threw away his humanity while his brain and heart will continue within Bias. Gush walks away and Kyojud Zuno does the torso tentacle bit. Falcon manages to break free and the others encourage him to follow Gush which he does. Wow that robot is oblivious. At Brain Base Gush gives Bias Kemp's brain and he comments about it being wonderful. Once the brain is in a capsule Bias asks him to help him conquer the world. Bias hooks himself up and uses the Giga Brain Wave on Earth, forcing humans to bow before him including the Livemen. I should note there is a blue tint for some reason (is it supposed to be early morning? They must have been going for night, but you can still see sunlight in the horizon). Falcon looks for Bias aboard Brain Base who is laughing maniacally.

Kyojud Zuno spots LR piloted by Colon who use the Live Robo Beam on him.... Somehow not killing him. Bias commenting about being God and commands Kyojud Zuno to fight LR and uses his laser ring to make him grow.... Why is Gush needed to use the Giga Phantom? Colon yells for help, but the others are simply bowing and LR is knocked over. Colon runs to them while Falcon finds the throne room where a projection screen shows her being caught. Jinmers attack and Falcon manages to fight them off. Gush runs in to make matters worse. Colon is carried off toward a cliff while Falcon storms further into the space station with Gush accidentally busting open the Brain Room- EPIC FAIL! Bias fires energy blasts from his left hand and Falcon impales him with his sword, causing everyone to go back to normal. The others head to LR while Bias breathes telekinetic fire on Falcon before his face deteriorates. Falcon is amazed at how old he is and Bias fails at a sneak attack. Falcon uses his live buster to make the Brain Room explode while LB is sent out to help LR form Super LR. After one punch Super LB uses the Burst to terminate Kyojud Zuno. Bias tells Falcon humanity will perish while he will not as he talks to Kemp's brain demanding his youth. Kemp does just that which.... TURNS HIM INTO A FRIGGIN KID!? Also Kemp's brain shoots lasers!? Also cliffhanger. Next episode shows Young Bias confronting the Livemen and Falcon dueling with Gush.

Kyojud Zuno: Powers include five electric tentacles from the torso, mouth energy bolts, explosive energy strings from the mouth, and high jumping

Episode 49:

Bias says he is now Young Bias, allowing him time to study more. He spawns Denshid Zuno from a capsule and has him fight Falcon. Once Falcon falls Bias has the Brain Base descend toward Tokyo. Bias is restrained to a cross while Denshid Zuno is hooked up to Brain Base to emit a bunch of electric bolts. Bias has dinner during this with Gush serving him. Super LR shows up and surrounds itself in energy before ramming into Brain Base. They both crash to the ground, Brain Base exploding in the process. The others try to find Falcon in the wreckage while Bias curses the Livemen. Falcon swipes Kemp's laser spewing brain and tells the others what happened last episode. Gush and Denshid Zuno attack the Livemen while Bias escapes. Dolphin looks for himm noting a blood trail along the shore. Bias shows himself and accidentaly drops Kemp's brain. Dolphin holds him at gun point, but he know she can't shoot him. He soon gets Kemp's brain and states he aimed for her weak spot (her heart). She replies with him being weak since he can relive his life which annoys him. Kemp then remembers his childhood which SOMEHOW MAKES THE OTHER ELEVEN BRAINS REMEMBER THEY ARE ON EARTH AND DEMAND FREEDOM! Kemp's brain explodes and Bias becomes old again with Falcon saying that is his real self. Gush takes Bias while the Livemen fight the last squad of jinmers lead by Denshid Zuno.

Gush and Bias make it to a field when Falcon shows up. Gush places Bias down and fights Falcon in a sword duel. It is actually pretty good. Falcon beats Gush while Denshid Zuno is assaulted soon after with Falcon's sword, the Triple Bazooka and the BB. Gush gets the Giga Phantom and uses it to revive Denshid Zuno as a giant. Ass the Livemen head toward Super LR, Gush carries Bias to Brain Base's wreckage. Super LR duels with Denshid Zuno, easliy going through the electric bolts and tossing him before finishing him with the Burst. Brain Base starts exploding with Gush saying to Bias they are fireworks for his victory. Bias thinks he is hearing the voice of humanity as his space station is blown to smithereens with the Livemen watching in horror. Gush emits a projection screen of the events of when Volt recruited Kemp, Mazenda, and Obler. The Livemen comment that there was no beauty in what they did while the planet has so much of it. Insert random animal clips here. The credits start rolling with random clips of what happened over the series being show in the background, finishing with Gush's head going underground for some reason.

Denshid Zuno: Powers include electric bolts from the single eye and electric conduction

When it comes to plot points and pacing the writing is actually very solid (I actually ended up liking the villains) and the action has gotten better over time.... Real shame I can't say the same for everything else. Ranger Balance? Bison and Sai got too little centric episodes, more so the former, making the balance as bad as pre-Bioman sentai. Most of my other complaints still apply and with this series I can't tell if it is trying to encourage children to be intelligent or to say screw intelligence. It highlights the main point that THERE IS A LACK OF CONSISTENCY! Having the worst Toei editing I have ever seen definitely does not help this series. Then there is stuff like brains firing lasers. WHY!? I know Super Sentai is flimsy when it comes to logic, but most of the time there is at least a semblance of sense. Here? They keep throwing everything they could to fill the run time! Is it pro-stupid or anti-stupid? Good question! I was going to call this series bad, but it had enough enjoyability to raise it to meh which is below Sun Vulcan which was okay. In other words this isn't just the worst entry in the franchise, but also the worst tokusatsu of the showa era. Yup, I said that. In fact here is where I rank it:

Changeman > Denziman > Bioman > Dynaman > Maskman > Goggle-V > Battle Fever J > Flashman > Gorenger > JAKQ > Sun Vulcan > Liveman

Lets end this with Gush with only his head, signifying that this was at least a good looking wreck.

Turboranger will likely begin over the weekend, expect something different when we get to it since it started differently than the rest. As for ranking carriers and fortresses and mecha and things, I will address that when we get to Turboranger.
