"BRING THE TOYS!": Bring The Video Game Toys Here!

Okay, I've finally got a solid plan on how to bring the D-Arts and figma video game action figures to US stores (like a Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R' Us or something)

I ask everyone who sees this article to go to Nintendo of America's, Capcom's, Good Smile's and Tamashii Nation's twitter pages and Bluefin Distribution's Facebook page and tweet the following:

For Nintendo of America and Good Smile Company:
#WeWantFigmaSamus
#WeWantFigmaLink

For Capcom and Tamashii Nations:
#WeWantDArtsMegamanX
#WeWantDArtsZero
#WeWantDArtsVile

For Bluefin Distribution:

Just leave a message for them that you want these toys.

If you guys have any other ideas or better ways to go about this, contact me at jlevells@gmail.com

Everybody got that? Good. Forward this to everyone you know! Get to it, my friends.

I think Bluefin already has the D-Arts Megaman X and Zero. I believe I saw a lot of them at their booth and even in their displays at their booth at a recent convention.

I'm not in the US, so feel free to discount my opinion. But wouldn't Bluefin have to sell these through specialised hobby stores at an increased price? We already know Daizyujin is being released in the US, but will cost just as much (if not more) than it would be simply importing it.

So what's the big need to get them released over there? The only advantage I can think of is not having to wait for delivery, but considering they're always going to be released later than their Japanese counterparts, that's irrelevant anyway.

Nah they sold Shinken Red and Shinken Gold at Toys R Us which is a major retailer over here. It is possible but is it likely? No. A twitter campaign, even if a couple thousand people do it, wouldn't amount to much if only for the simple fact that you tweeting "I want this!" doesn't mean that once it does come out you will buy it and the price to import it for such a small distribution market just isn't viable or attractive.

Alright, it seems that no one else wants to bring these over to US shores. Anyone know if the Megaman toys will get a re-release?

The only figure that needs a re-release is regular X, and I think Bluefin has been made aware of it but have no plans yet. The others are readily available and Vile has only started shipping in Japan and is still pending for the US.

That was Bandai America, not Bluefin. In the Vangelus interview, the Bandai Collectors rep stated that they don't want to pursue Tamashii items at US mass retail because of the concessions those retailers usually demand on price. It would potentially mean reducing the accessory count or quality of the figures in order to accommodate the lower price the retailers would want. There was talk at one point of Bluefin working something out with TRU, however we haven't heard of what became of that yet. It could potentially happen later, or it didn't work.

I stand corrected but the biggest obstacle that Bluefin has is convincing BOJ / BOA that there is a market for these types of products in the US. There's data that shows that the US market is pretty much the driving force behind the Mega Man D-Arts and especially the DBZ S.H.Figuarts and without the US Market neither would have continued so maybe they are wising up to it but it's still a question of getting a place like a Toys R Us or something to carry a $40-$60 collectors figure next to the something like a comparable sized Marvel/DC action figure or even a Transformer. The average consumer will look at the two and think the price of our collectors figure is insane. We are just a niche market that won't be catered to by anything but small shops and online stores.

You realize that the majority of my post essentially reinforces everything you're saying, right?
