WB is certainly throwing everything it can at this HBO Max venture. We’ve already heard about a new Adventure Time miniseries, a Boondocks revival and a Gremlins cartoon, as well as several DC-related projects. Today we learned about another one: the three-part animated miniseries Aquaman: King Of Atlantis.
Executive-produced by James Wan, the mini is set at the beginning of Arthur Curry’s life as king of Atlantis. Newly crowned, he has a lot of adjustments to make in his life, like watching his back for invading monsters and scheming power-hungry relatives.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the series begins with Aquaman’s first day on the job as king of Atlantis and he’s got a LOT of catching up to do. Luckily, he has his two royal advisors to back him up – Vulko, the scholar, and Mera, the water controlling warrior-princess.
