HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s entry into the streaming wars, will launch before the month is through. While its extensive lineup of original programs (most of which will not be ready by launch date) have gotten the most attention, HBO Max will also boast an extensive catalog of anime as well.
Thanks to a partnership with Crunchyroll, the service will offer 17 anime titles on launch day, with more on the way. They range from famous to obscure, dramatic to comedic, slice-of-life to fantasy, the full spectrum (minus anything X-rated).
HBO Max has also announced that in the months ahead, Hunter X Hunter (pronounced with the X silent) and Death Note will also join the lineup. But here’s what you can find on Day 1. HBO Max launches May 27.
