Free League Publishing released Alien: The Roleplaying Game last December and it quickly took off to become one of their biggest hits. Critics loved it, tabletop enthusiasts ate it up, and it sold well enough to register in the top 5 best-selling tabletop RPGs of the fall….so that means one thing: expansion time!
Two additional products connected to Alien: The Roleplaying Game were announced by Free League on April 26 (4/26, Alien Day). One is the Starter Set, which is basically a mini version of the full game to get newcomers’ toes wet. It comes with 104-page softcover abridged rulebook, 20 custom dice, reference cards, character handouts, a huge starmap, and one complete scenario: Chariot of the Gods by sci-fi author Andrew E.C. Gaska. The Starter Set is cheaper than the full version, bearing a price of $49.99.
