Is it in bad taste to make a pandemic movie while the world is experiencing a real one? If it is, that hasn’t stopped Uncork’d from coming out with indie horror films that say “PANDEMIC” in giant red letters on their posters. The latest one is called “AFTER THE PANDEMIC,” and it hits this coming Tuesday.
The pandemic in this movie was much worse than COVID (though Uncork’d claims the plot was “COVID-inspired”). It outright killed 90 percent of the population, and the survivors, mostly young, are trying to survive any way they can. That brings us to Ellie and Quinn, the two central characters who carry plenty of face masks AND bullets. They’re being chased by a merciless gang called the Stalkers and will need every defense trick they’ve got.
It is, of course, easier to film under pandemic restrictions if you work a plague into the plot. That doesn’t necessarily mean anyone WANTS to watch a pandemic movie right now, though.
