As far as Wild Talents, 2nd Edition does fix up the rules a bit and it gives you a whole world preset. The Essential Edition is just the first edition rules with nothing else. Best to go for the 2nd Edition.

I have local hobby stores I that I go to for my Gunpla fix.

I can get certain SD Kits(At least individual ones) For 11$ a piece...the sets tend to be a little more pricy.
