I don't get why people say a remake "ruins" the original. It's not like the original doesn't still exist. If you don't like a remake, ignore it and watch the original.

I think she sounds fine.

There are a lot of trailer shots that didn't make it into the film. Also in (I believe) the second trailer, there's a clip of Krennic speaking to Vader that, from the background, seems to be onboard the Death Star, indicating a third deleted Vader scene.

Emma Watson sounds fine in the released clip of her singing. Mrs. Potts looks a little creepy and I kind of wish they'd had the spout be her nose instead of just a human face superimposed on the side of a teacup. Beast looks a little too smooth and CGI and not "beastly" enough, IMO.

Christian Bale is my favorite live-action Batman, but while I was skeptical of Batfleck, he turned out to be fine and not one of BvS' many problems. I think he'd be fine in a better movie. If he is determining to put the effort into making his solo movie the best it can be, it might turn out...

Exactly. BvS tried to do in one movie what Marvel took the time to set up in several, and it felt like DC playing a rushed and haphazard game of catch-up and being a little desperate and Johnny-come-lately to kickstart their own cinematic universe (which is becoming one of those overused terms...

If that means it turns out less of a haphazard hot mess than BvS or Suicide Squad, I'm all for it. I'm not a big Affleck fan and was dubious of him playing Batman, but he turned out to be the least of that movie's problems. I don't have a lot of faith in anything continuing the DCEU after...

I don't think MJ is in this movie. She might be introduced later. In the Andrew Garfield movies, Emma Stone didn't play MJ, she played Gwen Stacy, who was Parker's first love in the comics before MJ came along.

Gene Rodenberry always wanted more diversity in Trek, so I like to think he'd approve of a woman of color in the lead role of a Trek series. Does this mean she's leaving The Walking Dead, though?

I thought Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was miles ahead of Rise and one of the best movies of the year. Hopefully this one stays at the same level. Also curious to see whether this wraps up a trilogy arc, or if more films continue to link up with the original Planet of the Apes film.

I didn't think GOTG was as mind-blowing as some people did, but it was a fun ride. Hopefully this serves up more of the same.
