When Nova Dante's parents go on vacation, it falls on her to look after the ghosts that reside within the Dante family cemetery. Nova is more worried that her Shinto priest boyfriend, Haru, has forgotten their anniversary, while her best friend Scottie, quartermaster and weapons expert, tries to reassure her that he hasn’t.

At Haru’s family shrine, they accidentally release evil ghosts that threaten to destroy the world. As events spiral into chaos, the evil ghosts possess Scottie. Haru leaves, wanting to pursue his own solution to the problem. At her lowest point, Nova must learn to rely on herself (and friends) to overcome the physical and inner demons present in her life.
