Blum is pretty limited but usually he gets characters that fit that. But he at least has a few voices, its not as bad as JYB. Like I can tell that Spike of Bebop is Jamie of Megas XLR but only if I think about it and his Wolverine is pretty much Spike being gruff. But I had no idea that Blum did the voice for Leeron of Gurren Lagann until I looked it up.

I haven't watched anime since 2006, so I'm a bit lost on anything he's done after whatever anime I watched in 2006, and mind you, last dubbed anime I watched was... what... Samurai 7?

Anyway, I find it hard to believe that someone thinks all Japanese dubs are better. I've heard some Japanese dubs that are just atrocious -- mostly those from the generic, cookie cutter, anime shows like a typical Shounen Jump titles gone anime, etc. There's but so much grunting and squicking and yelling I can take...

Wait, let me rephrase that, the last dub I watched was Haruhi Suzumiya, and it was just a clip. I think what they did to that was terrible.

Bandai/Kadokawa did a lot of fucked up things with the US release. Like making us pay 30 bucks more for the original Japanese airing order being the major BS of it all. On the plus side they localized all the character singles, but I think that for such a sleeper hit in both America and Japan, they should have stayed a bit more true to the original voices. I know they had us "vote" the actors, but come on, did we honestly vote for Wendee Lee to be Haruhi?!

I disagree. If some one says all dubs suck then they are perfectly entitled to say that. Granted they haven't seen all dubs, but I am pretty sure people that think that all dubs suck, just don't like dubs.

You can have your opinion all you want. It doesn't make it any less ignorant and short sighted.

Are you listening to the same thing? I think she sounds really damn close. Particularly while singing.

The dubs are never suckers unless the dubbers are new to it and never enjoyed their chars.

Anyways, Crispin Freeman, Kate Higgins, Chantal Strand, Michael Adamthwaite, Johnny Young Bosch and Richard Ian Cox are excellent choice for them (good dubs not bad ones).

I mostly prefer subs than dubs, but it depends on what anime it is.

Cowboy Bebop had the best Dubbed audio track ever made. The voices fit the characters perfect.

Tenchi Muyo, I like it dubbed too.

The original Mobile Suit Gundam, I have to watch it subbed.

It all depends on what you like to hear.

Depends on the studio, some put no time nor effort on certain series, others do.

I prefer a dub when its appropriate though. IE if its a series set in London with all english characters then I'd like it if they all spoke english.

For older nostalgic animes I always want the dub solely for nostalgia factor

I most certainly agree with you, HaiTien-san.
I have been watching Anime my whole, and I have to say that the Nostalgia factor is a more suitable reason.

I would have to disagree with you, Strider. Only the English dubs for GSD were terrible (I mean the three Extended Pilots and half of the Minerva crew) but the one voice actor that I didn't like in the English dub GS/GSD was.........Matt Hill. Don't get me wrong, he's good man, very talent but when it comes to Gundams, he's better off playing a minor character than one of the main characters, especially Kira Yamato. As for Matthew Erickson as Shinn Asuka, I would prefer Michael Reiwz (sorry for the mispelling of the last name). As for Samuel Vincent's Athrun Zala, he made it work well. So, in terms, only 99% of the English cast of Gundam Seed were okay, but the English voices of Kira and Lacus were the ones that I was uncomfortable with.
