But to stay on topic, kC, have you ever seen "Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events"? It's a kids movie, but the main girl character wears a dress I think you'd like, and if you had the skill, I'd like to see you make it. It's a gorgeous dress but I don't think I'd ever be able to pull it off. I wish I had better images of the full dress, but I couldn't find any:
