IT IS FINALLY OVER! Before ranting I will note that literally at episode 35 the subs start to get to the infamous Hong Kong bad translation text with time stamping in the upper left corner. WHEN SHOUT FACTORY GIVES THIS A US RELEASE YOU ALL BETTER THANK THEM YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO READ ENDLESS BADLY TRANSLATED DRIVEL LIKE I DID! Anyway, aside from Blue and Yellow each getting one ep there was no more focus on the main trio, rather it all went to the Gouraigers AND Shurikenger! WHAT KIND OF ANYTHING IGNORES ITS MAIN CHARACTERS LIKE THIS- Oh yeah, Madoka Magica and Infinite Ryvius aka some of the absolute worst and THE absolute worst in animation history, respectively. The tone was questionable, it bounced around between serious and dark moments followed by goofy and light moments, giving a perception of inconsistency that is somewhat grating. The villains are fine, Sandaru was a solid replacement for Manmaruba and Sargain did have his moments to make him well rounded. The other underlings were not much of anything. Tau Zant was standard as far as sentai final bosses go and was pretty good overall (as he should). That said, most issues still resonated to the end complete with SLOWER pacing and the fact that NOBODY FREED THE NINJA STUDENTS DID THE PLOT LITERALLY FORGET ABOUT THAT!? Just for that I'm ranking this BELOW Liveman! I'd probably rank it to Megaranger's level except the wire work stunts were good, it tried to be action packed, effort was put into the suspense aspects, and they did not endlessly pad out the finale. So yeah, very meh sentai, I can't believe I'm proclaiming this, but /m/'s right about this: Definitely bottom tier and not much going for it. I can't blame Toei too much for this since the whole collectable thing was still new when they carried over from Gaoranger as they were competing with Pokemon and Ultraman Cosmos while working on their third Kamen Rider series in a row which was originally meant to be a Metal Heroes reimagining. Top that off with an anniversary season (and a big one) and I can imagine how hard it would be for Toei to define future sentai. Growing pains was a serious issue for media in general, not just for tokusatsu, but also for anime since the jump to CGI was extreme in the new millennium.
Time to rank stuff!

Hurricanger vs. Gaoranger might share the same post as the 10 Years Later movie, that has not been decided, but both will get looked at before taking on Abaranger. Since nobody protested this style it will be reviewed in the same manner.
