What is tokusatsu of the month?
TotM is a fun way of getting people into the lesser known/discussed tokusatsu shows out there. Every month members vote for one show out of the candidates they want to see as the winner. The show will then become the TotM for the next month and have a discussion thread created and pinned for the entirety of that month for people to discuss as they do with current shows.

Chojinki Metalder
During World War II a great doctor and his colleague created a weapon for the Japanese Imperial Army, modeling it after the doctor's son. 42 years later, Major Muraki, the colleague of Dr. Ryuichiro Koga, has become ruled of the evil Neros Empire. Muraki, now known as God Neros, sets his eyes on Koga's weapon. Before God Neros can get to the weapon, Metalder is awakened by Dr. Koga. Koga is killed and now Metalder, under the human name Ryusei, learns to fit in with the world around him and battle the Neros Emprei. 39 episodes – 26 Subbed.

Choriki Sentai Ohranger
In the year 1999, Bacchushund returned to Earth as the ruler of the Baranoia Empire, with the intention of wiping out all human life and bring about machine rule. Chief Counsellor Miura revived super energies that had been born of the lost civilization of Pangaea. With the assembling of pieces of a stone plate uncovered three years previously, the secrets of "Super Power" were revealed. Miura built a pyramid to generate Tetrahedron power in order to allow five UAOH officers to transform into the Ohrangers. 48 episodes - 5 subbed.

Taiyou Sentai Sun Vulcan
The threat of the Machine Empire Black Magma causes the Guardians of World Peace (GWP) to decide to establish the Taiyo Sentai at a summit. From the GWP's air force, navy, and rangers, Commander Arashiyama assembles three specialists to become Sun Vulcan. Harsh training begins. Learning of this, Black Magma attacks the GWP's base, but the Sun Vulcan debuts in time to save it. Hell Saturn prays to the Black Solar God and is rewarded with a revived Queen Hedrian, now a cyborg with a mechanical heart and a metallic afro. 50 episodes – 36 subbed.


Kaiketsu Zubat
Zubat follows the tale of detective Ken Hayakawa, whose friend Gorou Asuka was murdered by the evil organization Dakker. To avenge him, Ken dons the mighty Zubasuit to become Zubat. In his journeys Ken saves people from the evil Dakker organization. The suit hands Ken a handicap as he can only wear it for a short amount of time before it explodes. 32 episodes – 9 subbed.

Metalder. I'd like to know more about this show and how much of an homage it is to Kikaider.
