Fortnite Sells 500K Copies In First Day Of Early Access
Fornite, the co-op sandbox survival game from People Can Fly managed to sell 500,000 copies in its first day of early access. The paid early access build is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and has seemingly been incredibly successful according to developer Darren Sugg.
Absolutely humbled by the response to this week's @FortniteGame launch. 500k+ digital pre-order sales and just getting started! Thank YOU.

Despite the fact that the title will be free-to-play when it launches at some point in 2018, that hasn’t stopped people from shelling out on various paid versions of the game. Depending on whether you just want the standard game with some extra loot or a collection of rare content, early access can cost anywhere between $39.99 and $149.99.
The idea behind Fortnight is for players to join together to explore and scavenge the world around them. New equipment and weapons can be found by finding loot or from completing tasks and structures such as forts and strongholds can be constructed using building materials. It has been in development for five years and is a joint venture between People Can Fly and Epic Games.

It looks very interesting and the graphics look amazing but I think I'll wait until it releases for free in 2018. $39.99 is kind of too much when you can just wait and get it for free (my personal opinion)

I’ve played a little bit of it so far and it has been fun. I should have an article up on my early impressions next week.

Same here, I will also wait for the game to be released for free, and judging from the demand, it seems like it's a pretty good game for people to shell out cash rather than wait for it to be released for free.
