For Nostalgia’s sake please give Christina Ricci this role! Tim Burton is in talks of doing an Adam’s Family television reboot!
Tim Burton is under negotiations of producing and directing a live-action reboot of the Addams family. Last year the iconic gothic family made a movie comeback with a CGI animated movie starring Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, and Chloe Grece Moretz as Gomez,
Morticia, and Wednesday Addams. It made $203 million from a budget of $24 Million. That shows this IP is still relevant, despite these characters are created by Cartoonist Charles Addams during 1938.
This comedy comic strip has graced our screens in movies, cartoons, and even a broadway musical. The Addams family is about a Gothic aristocratic family who seemed to be involved with the paranormal, and they have no idea why people are afraid of them. Well, having a reanimated severed hand as part of their household is enough reason for me.
Most people know this Franchise because of the 1963 sitcom and the 1991 live-action adaptation. That particular version made Christina Ricci a quintessential and recognizable child star of the 90s because of her portrayal of Wednesday Addams.
This project is going to be run and written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. They are known for making the hit Superman adaptation tv series Smallville.
The Addams family had been in a floating timeline since their creation. When we say a floating timeline, it means the characters don’t age and stays in the same year. It is the main reason why Bart Simpson and Ash Ketchum are still twelve-year-olds until now. Addams family will finally break from that cycle because the Tv series will center on a now Adult Wednesday Addams. Many fans wanted Christina Ricci to play Wednesday Addams again, as she is the most popular actress associated with the role. The actress does need to make her comeback, and this could be the break she needs.
Trivia: The catchy song played during NBA games is the Themesong of the old Addams Family tv show.
