Fast and Furious 11 will be the last in the series.
The Fast and Furious franchise is one of the longest-running successful action film franchise ever. By far, this series spawned ten sequels and 3 spin-offs that will have sequels too. That is a total of thirteen movies, and all of them are box office titans.
The combined box office earnings of all the Fast and Furious movies are worth Billions in China alone. This saga had been a global hit for two decades already.
This series turned Paul Walker and Vin Diesel into A-lister household names. It even got more impactful when brighter names like Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, and Charlize Theron joins the franchise. This series also gave Hollywood breaks to Gal Gadot and Tony Jaa. She may have played a small villain role in this franchise, but this helped her get all the opportunities that lead to her Wonder Woman role.
The series also experience some tragedy. When Paul Walker died, The production got forced to write off his character. His character Brian O’Connor retired to start a family as a way to keep his character alive and retiring him at the same time.
Director Justin Lin confirmed that the 10th and 11th movie would be the last films of the mainline series. The spin-offs will continue to have sequels, but there won’t be a Furious 12. Eleven will be the end of the line to this mammoth. All good things come to an end.
Even though Eleven will be the final film in the mainline franchise, The 10th film will get divided into two parts. Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and divergent did that strategy in the final films of the series. It succeeds in the first two but fails on the latter.
The 10th movie getting cut into two means we will have three more films for the mainline saga.
