Fan Creates “De-Feminized” Cut Of The Last Jedi, Cast Reacts With Laughter
There’s an old saying (and an old song) that goes “you can’t please everyone, so you, got to please yourself.” This phrase carries a lot of weight, especially in this world we live in right now. A world where people get ganged up on if their opinion doesn’t match others. Or if a person like a TV show, or film, and others think it’s terrible, then surely the former person is “wrong.” Star Wars: The Last Jedi had a very divisive reaction amongst fans, but some took it REALLY far.
How far? Well, they decided the only way to “fix the script” was to…and I kid you not…cut out all the major women roles in The Last Jedi. Think about that for a second. Think how different the film would be if that happened. Someone actually took the time and “rewrote” the script so none of the major females have major parts. Such “edits” include:
– Lea dies. Kylo kills her.
– Phasma is finished after the first blow by Finn. (Women are naturally weaker than men, she isn’t force-sensitive, and we know nothing about any exo-skeleton in her suit)
– Asian chick speaks less, doesn’t bully Finn, Finn doesn’t try to escape, she is never formally introduced. She is just there and occasionally smiles at Finn or screams “Finn!”. She has no sister. Serves her right for all the heinous stuff she did.
– NO HALDO [sic]! She simply doesn’t exist. Her whole subplot doesn’t exist. T
Naturally, this needed a response from the cast of The Last Jedi. And so, Rian Johnson, Mark Hamill, and Jon Boyega took to Twitter to literally laugh at the stupidity of this cut.
It just goes to show, you never responded to hate with hate, cause most times? It’ll get you laughed out of the room.
