Fallout Shelter Receives Thanksgiving Update
‘Tis the season and all that. With Thanksgiving on the way later this week, Bethesda Softworks has revealed a Thanksgiving-themed update for the popular Fallout Shelter mobile game. You can check out the announcement tweet for the update below. The update is out now for Fallout Shelter on iOS and Android.
The new Thanksgiving update features some festive items for the game, including turkeys and pilgrim costumes. This is the latest holiday update for Fallout Shelter. Last October, there was a Halloween-themed update for the game with cobwebs, costumes and cauldrons. Will Christmas and New Year’s Day updates be next? It will be interesting to see what else Bethesda will launch for the game for the appropriate holidays in the coming months.
Per Gamespot, Fallout Shelter generated $5.1 million from the month of June alone for the iOS version, making it a pretty lucrative mobile app. The Thanksgiving update to Fallout Shelter is free, and Fallout Shelter is free-to-play. Bethesda Softworks is able to generate revenue for the mobile game through in-game lunchboxes that can be purchased. Fallout 4 was also recently released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. Fallout 4 is scheduled to get its first update patches later this week.
