Emily Bett Rickards Wants Felicity to Return to Her Roots for Arrow Season 4
Actress Emily Bett Rickards went from one-time role to series regular and soon to be a major love interest for Oliver Queen in about four episodes on Arrow. Throughout seasons 1 and 2, Felicity was a character many fans enjoyed. Yet in Season 3, her character regressed a lot. From flip-flopping between who she loved, to crying and whining a lot, fans were wondering what the heck happened to their favorite character. Apparently, Emily Bett Rickards feels the same way, and she wants Felicity to return to her strong character once again. At the recent Comic-Con Arrow panel, Rickards stated (via io9):
“She felt like she was crying a lot. I feel like she went through a year that wasn’t necessarily her favorite. I agree. I feel like she lost a little bit of her strength to a certain extent. Hopefully, she gets funnier again because I don’t want to see her crying all of the time. It was a big disappointment to me to have her crying a lot—because one thing I love about Felicity so much is that she’s so strong and independent and sticks to her guns and is true to herself.”
Rickards will return as Felicity Smoak in for Arrow Season 4, which arrives on Oct. 7th on The CW.
