EA Confirms Mirror’s Edge Will Be Released Early 2016
EA held a conference call this afternoon where they revealed their release schedule for the next twelve months, and it indicates we’ll be taking another trip through a boxy metropolis with our favorite Asian parkour expert sooner than we thought. Not only is the new Mirror’s Edge still on track to be released, we’re getting it in less than a year’s time! Check it out, clear as day!
“Wait a minute,” I hear you saying, “that clearly says Mirror’s Edge will be released in the FALL of 2016, not the WINTER.” Well, this isn’t a traditional calendar. This schedule is going by the FISCAL year, which begins on April 1 and ends on March 31. So by “Q4” they mean the fourth quarter of the 2015-2016 fiscal year. Q1 is blank here because it’s almost finished.
EA also announced a Plants vs. Zombies game for consoles this afternoon, but it won’t be like the super-casual phone version. It will be closer to the shooter spinoff Garden Warfare in gameplay, they claim. Just as long as you don’t have to pay to keep playing….
If Mirror’s Edge 2 is this far along, we can expect a good slice of it to be revealed at E3 next month. Stay tuned for more information if we get it.
