E3 2017: Super Mario Odyssey Has Co-Op
Super Mario Odyssey was by far one of Nintendo’s most shown titles at E3 this year. Not only getting a new trailer, but multiple showings at the Nintendo Treehouse Live events, and even being the theme for the Nintendo area on the show floor. But as the team said multiple times, the game has much more to show than we have been led to believe.
Case and point, during the last session of Super Mario Odyssey on the Treehouse, the team revealed that Co-Op was going to be in the game. For this game’s version, one player will be Mario, while the other will play Cappy, the spirit that’s possessing Mario’s hat in the game. While Mario plays like you’d expect him to, Cappy will be able to fly around the level, attacks enemies, get certain items, and more.
Oh, and Cappy is invincible. So no fear of death! While Mario games have had Co-Op in the past, this may be one of the most unique takes on it so far. I mean, who would’ve thought you could play as a hat?
