E3 2017: Shadow of the Colossus Is A Remake, Not Remaster
At E3, during the Sony Press Conference, a new version of Shadow of the Colossus was unveiled. But what fans instantly noted was that the graphics in the game weren’t just improved, it seemed like everything was improved, from top to bottom. Leaving many to wonder if this was a straight up remaster, or something more.
Well, Silconera translated an interview Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida had about Shadow of the Colossus, and confirms that the game is a full-on remake of the original classic title.
“It is a remake,” he said. “The game content is the same as the original version, but all the assets are being remade.”
Yoshida does note however that there will be some small changes, mainly in the control scheme, as the game is on PS4 and not PS2.
“Player preferences for controls and such change over time, so we’re working on implementing a more modernized way to play,” he said.
However, you can use the original PS2 control scheme should you want. Shadow of the Colossus will arrive on PS4 in 2018.
