E3 2013 – PopCap Goes Three-Dimensional In Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Watch The Gameplay Video
To kick off the EA’s 2013 Press-Conference John Vechey of PopCap Games took to the stage to reveal Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, a three-dimensional co-operative third-person shooter coming exclusively to Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Producer Brian Lindley and Creative Director Justin Wiebe joined John on stage to play out a four-player co-operative match against a wave of zombies, previewing how plants from the mobile game will return each representing the different styles classically experienced in similar styles of co-op games.
The Peashooter fills the role of a normal infantry unit, the Chomper is a powerful melee fighter, the Sunflower supports the whole team by healing them and the Cactus is a powerful ranged shooter with the ability to summon flying units that attack enemy zombies from above. Toward the end of the round two boss creatures, a Disco Zombie and Gargantuan, arrived on the battlefield to take the challenge one step further.
From what was shown PvZ: Garden Warfare looks like incredible fun, with colourful characters, slick animations and smooth combat. Sadly no release date was mentioned.
