Dying Light Inspires 'Real Life' Zombie Parkour Short Film
The upcoming zombie survival video game, Dying Light, features parkour-influenced action sequences. Well Ampisound, who previously created the Mirrors Edge POV viral video, partnered with Dying Light developer Techland for a new live-action POV video, Dying Light Parkour POV, inspired by the video game. The short film is available below.
The video was shot on location on the rooftops of Cambridge, United Kingdom. The short film gives viewers an intense POV of what it is like for a runner fleeing for his life from zombies on the rooftops of an abandoned city. Remember kids, the zombies in the video are fake and the stunts are done by trained professionals. Do not try this at home. The short film was a fun, little trip that did a good job of promoting the parkour style and natural movement Techland is trying to emphasize for the Dying Light game.
Dying Light looks to be an interesting new take on zombie survival horror and first-person shooters. The game emphasizes natural movement in a giant, open-world sandbox. Players are not fixed to a certain approach to take on various objectives. The zombies are aggressive, but at night a nocturnal, more vicious breed of the zombies emerges. Basically, if the player does not get to a safe zone at night, it is a practical death sentence.
The release date for Dying Light is just around the corner. The game finally hits the shelves on January 27 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The game will hit Asia, Australia and New Zealand territories on January 28. On January 30, the game will be available in Europe.
